Million Dollar View - House needs work
The view was beyond our expectations! We rented this particular property with budget restraints. Great for the price, however it came with a few issues. The furniture is very old and rundown, The A/C in one of the bedrooms only made loud noise. A quick check outside showed one side of the unit was totally gone and the rest very badly rusted. We only needed 2 of the bedrooms so it wasn't a big issue with us. Every room had rusted, dirty metal panels at the ceiling level for what I assume was hurricane protection. The main issue for us though was the water heater. No hot water for almost 3 days. Before it was replaced, we were given complicated instructions for how to turn it on so there was never hot water without a 2 hr wait.
On the better side though, the patio was perfect - it even had a hammock - and was steps away from the ocean. At high tide the crashing waves actually sprayed the area. It was literally steps to the private beach. It was gorgeous and accessible only to the subdivision. My husband said the snorkeling was terrific but the water temp was a bit chilly for me yet.
The men fished with Captain Juan 2 days and had a blast! He is out of San Juan, a 30 minute drive away. They recommend him highly!
We love the island and were happy to share it with a couple of friends. It is the perfect beach vacation with so much more! El Yunque, Old San Juan, great shopping and fishing and the friendliest people in the Caribbean.
For a great vacation experience, you won't find a better value. We highly recommend Puerto Rico, Dorado and this general area. When upgrades are made to the unit, it will be hard to beat. Now though, it just needs too much work.
Owner's Response: We are glad the guests liked the view so much they titled it: “Million Dollar View”, which is one of the main features for someone looking to rent the property. The second one is great value in the cost of their stay.
We are sorry this particular customer had the bad luck to have two appliances dysfunction during their visit. The situation was resolved with brand new replacements on a water heater and a new air conditioning unit. Regretfully one of the inconveniences of an ocean front property is rust and consequently extremely high maintenance costs. The storm panels will be moved so they are less visible.
We are happy you could confirm our pride in having one of the best beaches in Puerto Rico. All of the upgrades to the property are being programed in addition to having improvements being done while I write this.
