Peaceful Coastside Canyon Retreat

The house had some unexpected perks such as the chickens and the bunny rabbits. My two boys (1.5 and 3.5) loved going out to the yard and looking at the chickens and baby chicks and the bunnies. Gail was very nice and always came out and let the boys hold the baby chicks and bunnies.

The description of this home is very close to the listing provided by the owner. The furniture is comfy and cozy, the home was clean but don't expect pristine - it is a home that is lived in and it is old as the listing mentions. Our family group included 2 children, ages 4 and 7. They loved the chickens and bunnies, and we all appreciated the freshly laid eggs for breakfast. The hot tub was very clean and a great location for relaxing. In the evenings we appreciated the large selection of games and DVDs.
You do have to drive to get anywhere as it is 2 miles from town, although it is a nice bike ride - two bikes are provided (although check the tires as we couldn't get one of them pumped up).

I would say there are two things of which to be aware:

If you are extremely allergic to cats there are two cats - they will stay outside if you keep the doors and windows closed.
There are other people who live on the property in separate quarters - we never even saw them but just saying.... The owner (very nice lady) did tell us this when we were checking in.

Gail's home is a blissful refuge in the countryside...the quiet and calm of rural living with farm -fresh eggs, hawks soaring overhead, plenty of space for kids to roam and explore...and only minutes from the very cool town of Half Moon Bay. It was a taste of the country life we long for , and a much needed respite from our life on the grid. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable ...a place to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea and let the hours pass unnoticed. Great medicine for the soul...for the entire family!
