A superb duplex penthouse of around 1,500 square feet in a period building located in the heart of Covent Garden with views of the Piazza from its private roof terrace. The main living space, which has a contemporary feel to it, consists of a combined dining and living room. The dining table seats six in comfort. The living room has a sofa and chairs and a 52' LCD TV with satellite and terrestial channels, a DVD and AV player with stereo system channeled upstairs and outside onto the terrace. A spacious kitchen is very well equipped. The master bedroom has a four poster king size bed (6' 11' x 5' 7'), large closet space and en suite bathroom which consists of a toilet, washbasin, large deep bath and handheld shower. The second bedroom has a standard double bed and a built in closet and is very bright & cheerful. The second bathroom consists of a washbasin, toilet and shower. On the top floor there is a desk / study area with 2 chairs and a separate living area with a large comfortable sofa, oriental rugs and numerous throw cushions. The top floor can be used as a third bedroom - it has a single convertible bed and a large sofa which can be used to accommodate two teens / young adults. This room leads on to a roof terrace with a BBQ and seating for 4 with views of the London Eye, the City, the Royal Opera House and Big Ben. This flat is recently refurbished and completely modernised, with central air conditioning, WiFi throughout, 2 x TVs, DVD / BluRay and an entertainment system with speakers inside and out. There are 72 steps up to the 4th floor of the building but once inside the flat, the space, peace and quiet belies the central location. Assistance with luggage is available. The flat is ideally located in the heart of London with the Royal Opera and Ballet very close and most theaters just a stone's throw. Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament are within walking distance. There are many delightful shops and a wide range of restaurants nearby. Soho, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus are a 3 minute walk. Despite the vibrancy of the local area, inside the flat is quiet and peaceful. Please note: primary renter must be at least 30 years old, the accommodation is NOT suitable for young children and the maximum capacity is 4 adults plus 2 children / young adults. Minimum nights charged is four. If you are enquiring about 3 nights or less, or if your party consists of 5 or 6 persons please mention that you have read this information in your enquiry. Please be advised that check ins after 9pm at night may incur additional costs.

As noted by another reviewer, the owner's description of the flat is very accurate. The stairs are a bit daunting at first, but you get used to it. Wouldn't recomment it for anyone with ambulation issues. Otherwise, it is an excellent location - very busy area with lots of people on the street, but quiet in the flat. Easy walking distance to three tube stations. Also a quick walk to Trafalgar Square and many other tourist attractions, but still convenient for my trips into The City for business. The owner is very helpful and the flat is well maintained. I highly recommend it.

Location, location location! This flat is great. Well appointed, comfortable, and in the center of the Theatre district. The flat was very nice, comfortable, and has air conditioning. We had a slight heat wave at the end of our stay, and this made the place very comfortable. There was a very nice patio/roof deck which was great for a pre-dinner refreshment. Paul was excellent. He met us at the flat, and he gave a great explanation of all the extra's. I would recommend this place to anyone. Keep in mind that it is several flights up. I did not find this to be a problem at all. The flat is surrounded by 3 tube stations, so it is easy to get around London. The flat was very clean, and it was filled with fresh flowers. There is a grocery store 1/2 block away, but the area is filled with plenty of night life and great pubs and restaurants. The bonus is that the flat is still quiet and peaceful. Stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Great location in the heart of Covent Garden

You couldn't ask for a better location in the heart of London. About 100 yards from Covent Garden tube stop, it is a direct link to both Heathrow and several of the train stations including St Pancras and the Chunnel. Very safe neighborhood, lots of restaurants. Its a fairly touristy area but lots of action.
It is on the top floor with no lift so it isn't good for those who would find this a challenge. Great views from the upstairs office, sunroom, deck. Our daughter made up the couch, effectively making it a 3 BR (although this room would not be suitable for an adult bedroom)
The unit itself is quite nice although showing some signs of wear...nothing we couldn't work around. The shower is TINY but quite functional. Having a W/D combo and a kitchen is great....saved money by not having to eat every meal out. Try Clo Magiorre downstairs...very nice. Paul was very helpful and made us feel welcome. This is his house and he uses it when it is not rented so it feels more like a home and not so much like a rental hotel room.

Owner's Response: The flat has many amenities and, like the proverbial battleship, there is always something that needs fixing. Having been very popular in the run up to year end 2012 it has been difficult to get in between visitors without causing disruption! 2013 will see further upgrades to the decor, artwork and other amenities.

Great visit to London with a wonderful flat in the middle of it all.

We are a family with 2 teenage children. Spent 5 nights at the flat during our visit from July 4-9. Paul met us at the flat when we arrived and oriented us to the flat and the neighborhood. It was very comfortable and well furnished. The location was great and we walked everywhere. Market is only a block away and many restaurants are within 2 blocks. Highly recomemmed.

Exceptional Location, Feels like a Home Away from Home

We stayed here for spring break with our 3 teenagers. The location couldn't be better. It is in the midst of everything you could need-restaurants, pubs, shopping, theater, the opera house, live entertainment, and the Underground. Bed space is a little tight for 5 adults but it works. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms are recently remodeled, everything is clean and well decorated. The floor plan is ideal for hanging out together in the spacious living room/dining room. There is a huge dining room table that can fit the whole family. There is a computer and printer with internet access in the loft that you are free to use. Paul was wonderful to work with and welcomes you into his home. Not much to say about the 5 flights of stairs to get up to the apartment-5 flights is 5 flights. The great part about that is that you are on the top floor so there is no noise from above and no noise from the quaint street below. You can find free live entertainment in the Covent Garden Marketplace- string quartets, opera singers, jugglers, etc- downstairs outside of the Crusting Pipe Bar and Restaurant. You can enjoy a beer, a glass of wine, or a spot of tea on the patio and enjoy the show. There is also a stand downstairs in the old Marketplace where you can get a bowl of fresh paella that is delicious. We will definitely hope to stay here again on our next trip to London.
