A lovely stay in Midland

Planning our trip to Canada we read about Midland. Living in the Netherlands, we’d never heard about the place. We actually went there early May, 2011. It was not too warm, the ice still in lake Huron. We stayed a couple of days and had a wonderful time there biking, swimming, enjoying the lovely surroundings, eating in some nice restaurants . We from Holland especially loved the beautiful, different blue colors of the sky, the harbor, the lake and the rivers - as in Muskoka, Algonquin and Tadoussac.
We stayed there in a marvelous, well-maintained, charming house, with lots of room for the five of us. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The garden was large enough. The owners gave us some good tips for our holidays, helped us where they could and lent us their bikes. And, last but not least, they gave us a unforgettable excursion in and around Midland with lots of inside information. We, as Dutch visitors, appreciated that very much. All in all it was a successful stay in a nice house with very friendly owners.

Owner's Response: My husband and I have been fortunate to have guests stay in our guest house in Midland from Canada - Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, from the United States, the Netherlands (twice), Israel to name a few. We enjoy meeting people from across Ontario and Canada, and around the world and helping them to enjoy their vacation and business stays in the Midland, Georgian Bay area. What our guests particularly enjoy is our central location.
The guest house is a 2 minute walk to a quaint main street with shops, restaurants and cafes. We are a 5 minute walk to the Midland docks where you can take a tour boat out to the georgian bay islands. We are also a few minutes walk to Little Lake Park that has some short trails ideal for a walk or picnic. And we are a 10 minute drive to Balm Beach and other beaches along the same shoreline. In two minutes from our front door you can be on a long paved bike/walking trail that goes along bays, marshes and fields. And we are within minutes to many local attractions, including the Wye Marsh where you can rent kayaks.
The guest house has a fully equipped kitchen and a private yard with patio furniture and gas BBQ. The living room has a flat screen TV with cable, a DVD player and movies. The dining room is quaint and comfortable. Wifi is available. The guest house and property are smoke free and pet free.
