So myself, soon to be wife, mother and stepfather spent an amazing Labor Day Weekend at this cabin. This was the first time my precious Buttercup met my mom and she APPROVED!!!!We spent countless hours siting by the fire,on the river, and just hanging out inside and having great conversations.I'm leaving today knowing without any regrets, doubts(i winder or What ifs),shes the "one & only"for me!We will spread the word about Christopher's Cabin and plan on bringing our boys back at a later date!
Thanks and we'll see you soon....

The house is small, and it is not a 2 bedroom, it has one bedroom and a loft upstairs. My one and only complaint is the beds, we left the night before our check-out because the beds were very uncomfortable. There is a futon on the loft which is pretty much just wire (if we had invited other people, there would have been issues with that). The house is very dusty and this was an issue the first night, I dropped my phone on one of the sofas and I had to dig it from under the sofa (which confirmed the house had only been cleaned in the 'visible areas'. The outdoors are lovely, very quiet, river front (can't get any better than that), the fire pit is great for cookouts and hanging out (but the owners failed to clean the one bench outside, we arrived to a bunch of woods and nails being left outside (this is an issue when you have small children). The house is equipped with everything though, the kitchen has everything you need. I think that with a deep cleaning and replacing the beds, this would have been ideal.
We decided to have a cabin experience over the weekend our daughter married, rather than an impersonal hotel. The bride and groom kept us too busy to do anything but sleep and change our clothes. We did try the hot tub, event though it was raining and even though there were no stairs to enter the tub. The view looked nice of the river and the fire pit, but the weather never stopped raining so we basically spent way too much money on this weekend. The road to the cabin is very rough, even with four wheel drive we were struggling.
A very nice cabin. The kitchen and views were the best! And the fire pit was the extra touch. Didn't have any luck fishing but that happens. Only a few things that were a smaill issue (but did NOT take away from the stay)-the hot tub had no steps and the temp was impossible to lower, the bed in the downstairs bedroom really needs to be replaced and the road getting there-well it is unpaved and that says it all. I'd gladly say there again.
We loved staying at Christopher's cabin. Very pleased with the accommodations and loved being right on the River. There was so much to do there and we didn't fell the need to venture out to much. Best part was being able to bring our dog! Some of the wineries are dog friendly too. My only recommendation is to install a stackable W&D. We would love to come back in the Fall or Winter.
This is a beautiful and very well kept house in a nice secluded area of Luray. It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle rat race of Northern VA. Everything you need in the house is there for you (except towels and linens, unless requested) and as a bonus there is a nice hot tub. The screened in back porch was fabulous to sit out on in the morning with coffee and watch the river. The river is right in the backyard for tubing, kayaking, and canoeing. There is a nice large yard for dogs, volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole, or whatever outdoor games you want to bring. There is a nice firepit for a bonfire. The town of Luray is a nice little area with movie theater, ice cream shop and some fast food places. Once we got to the house, we didn't leave until our check out day. We packed all food and brought it with us. There are several grocery stores within 10-20 minutes. We had a wonderful time, wish we had stayed longer. Will definitely rent this property again. Thank you to the owner's for keeping such a nice rental property!
We went as two couples and had an amazing time! You feel completely secluded even with the owner living right next door (who was great!). Everything about the cabin was perfect. Its so close to some amazing hiking trails and horseback riding. We loved our stay and are hoping to come back again in the fall.
