Enjoy the solitude of your own private cottage, tucked in the north woods on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix, just four miles from East Jordan. Offering 100' of sugar sand beach (one of the very best on Lake Charlevoix), enjoy morning coffee on the beach, swimming and boating during the day and evening sunsets beside a beach fire. Surrounded by white pines, white cedars, and white birches, the 1950's remodeled white cottage offers a quiet retreat for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of northern Michigan. The kid-friendly beach has a gradual slope for lots of wading, water play and swimming. There is also a dock and buoy for tying up a boat or pwc. A 14 acre woods with a stream offers room for hiking directly behind the cottage. The cottage is 70' from the sandy beach, 140' from water's edge.

About Bob Pursel

We are a retired couple who have lived here on Lake Charlevoix since 2005. We removed the old family cottage from 1912 in 2003 and built what is now our year round home. It is next door to the white cottage.

Why Bob Pursel chose East Jordan

We live next door to this cottage and purchased it to provide a rental for family, friends and others. Now that we have this beautiful spot, with a beautiful 300 ' sandy beach, we have decided it's too good not to share it with others. It's a great place for young children with a swing and swim with shallow water quite a ways out into the lake.

What makes this cottage unique

There is a 14 acre hiking woods with a stream located across the narrow lane that leads to the property. It's a very private setting, with one of the nicest sandy beaches on Lake Charlevoix. There is woods on one side of the cottage as well as behind it. It's a great place for dogs, too. From the cottage it's a 5-minute drive to shopping.

Great Getaway

We spent one night at the cottage while touring Michigan in September '12 from Arizona. We were looking for the "Michigan Experience" - cottage, woods, lake, bonfire, peace and quiet... and that's exactly what we got! The cottage is well suited for great family fun. The owners are extra-accomodating, helpful, and make excellent hosts. If you like rustic living in the woods, on a lake, far from the chaos of the "real world"... you'll love staying here!

A Cozy Stargazers Paradise on Lake Charlevoix

We stayed at the "White Cottage" for an extended weekend and it was delightful. We found everything to be clean and there where many amenities that you do not usually find in rental cottages: a well appointed kitchen (with all of the necessary equipment to cook a full meal if you wish), books, games ample blankets and pillows. The setting is lovely, being among the trees with a beautiful view of Lake Charlevoix. Due to the fact that this is the only rental on the property, we felt as though it was our own getaway rather than a resort. The cottage provides a quiet, traditional "Up North" experience while still not too far to from the busier areas of Charlevoix. Petoskey or even Traverse City. For any one who enjoys stargazing, definitely the night shy was spectacular! The most difficult part of our weekend was having to leave when it was over. We would definitely considerer staying here again.

Great place for family or personal get away!!

Have stayed here for the past two years. One week for family reunion with all the kids & grandkids coming by and one week for our anniversary. Wonderfully quiet. It is all that the owner has described and reveals in the pictures For a rustic setting it still has many comforts, but you'll find yourself using the beach most of the time!

We also brought our motorcycle up last year and enjoyed the many beautiful roads all around the area. The property is well maintained and the owners, being next door, are super with any questions or needed help!

Will go back again and would recommend it to anyone.....
