What more could you ask for – Sanibel Island and a two bedroom, two bath condo directly facing the Gulf of Mexico!

Tarpon Beach is an exclusive, low-rise (three story) complex consisting of only thirty units, with a heated pool as large as those typically found in complexes of 100 plus units, a private and well maintained tennis court, and an amazing beach, which is accessed directly by a walkway from the beach side pool. The beautiful but private entrance to the property is graced by manicured tropical plantings and impressive driveway pavers (no overheated blacktop here!).

Our condo is on the first floor living level, approached by the nearby stairs or elevator. Being a corner unit, the living room and dining area walls are highlighted by large windows, allowing ample light and cross ventilation from the refreshing Gulf breeze. The corner setting also enhances the large screened lanai, which is entered from both the living room and the master bedroom. The dining area seats six comfortably and the kitchen is well equipped. New cookware and dinner ware were recently added, as well as new, small appliances (coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc.).

The condo received extensive remodeling in 2011. All the windows and sliding glass doors were replaced with hurricane/impact resistant glass and frames; the kitchen was updated with new cabinets, granite counter tops, built in microwave, new stainless sink and faucet, and a new refrigerator with ice maker; the master bath received a new tiled walk-in shower, new tiled floor, brushed nickel fixtures, and new lighting; and, the guest bath was updated with a new wood vanity, granite counter top, and new sink and faucets.

For entertainment there is a 42 inch wall-mounted TV, VCR and DVD player in the living room, a 32 inch TV and DVD player in the master bedroom (in the armoire), and a 26' wall-mounted TV in the guest bedroom(all new flat panel TVs). Free wireless and wired internet access is also provided. The pool is nearby, but far enough so that your peace is not disturbed by pool noise.

Our guests also have use of the ground level storage room (lockable), and the beach chairs and umbrellas kept there. The storage room is right next to the numbered, under cover parking space for the condo.

There is no place else in Florida like Sanibel Island – natural, pristine, quiet, beautiful beaches, no traffic lights and neon signs, but more than enough to do, with ample shopping, restaurants, and exploring. Once you go there you’re sure to return, time and time again.

'Actively' retired, residing in NJ. Have been visiting Sanibel almost yearly since 1998. In 2010, decided it was time to stop renting and start owning, and very happy with that decision.

Perfect First Sanibel Experience!

This was our first big family vacation to Florida, and we chose Sanibel based on some friends' experiences. From our research online, it looked like this complex was where we'd want to be--and we were right! The complex is located in the heart of the island, close to everything. We knew it was close to the beach but we couldn't believe how close--just a short walking bridge away! The kitchen had everything we needed and John even brought some games and puzzles to make sure our girls would have something to do during those "down times" before and after leaving the condo in the morning and evening. He even suggested an exotic bird show at the RV park that was FREE and ended up being one of our top favorite experiences from the week. We wouldn't have even known about it if he hadn't told us ahead of time. The unit was very clean and spacious and in a quiet location. Beds were comfy and I loved that there was a rocking chair in the living room. The beach chairs and towels were perfect and my husband loved being able to take a bike ride each morning with the included bikes. The heated pool was a hit with our girls as well. We took a walk to Bailey's Tract one evening (which is very close to the condo) and saw a few alligators and tons of turtles, which were both on the "must see" list for our girls! Mid to late April was the best time to go in our opinion, as the weather was perfect and the beaches weren't crowded. I can't say enough positive things about our week on Sanibel Island, from working with the property company and owner, to the wonderful memories we made. We hope we can return someday and we'd definitely stay in this condo again!

Classic sanibel

This was our second stay in this condo. We returned because it offers the classic Sanibel experience- a perfect view of the beach yet surrounded by native plants. The condo itself is very comfortable from a well stocked kitchen to great beds and pillows. If that's not enough, there is a heated pool and a pair of bikes to explore the island. Thanks so much, we throughly enjoyed our stay (again) and we'll be back next year!

My wife and I stayed at this condo for a week in January 2015. I found it easy to work with the owner (thanks for sharing your place with us!) and the property managment company. Everything was easy and went smoothly with check in and check out. We really enjoyed the location off of Tarpon Rd as it was less busy than other parts of Sanibel and yet had great access to groceries and restaurants. We enjoyed the corner unit. It was very private and quiet as it had tropical foliage out the windows and no buildings next door. The view of the gulf from the screened Lanai was fantastic and it got sun exposure all morning and most of the afternoon. The heated pool was great. It was quiet at the pool and there were seldom more than a couple other people using the pool no matter what time we used it. The whole unit had everything we needed: hairdryer, iron, all kitchen equipment and utensils. The unit was clean and well maintained, in fact, the whole complex was clean and well maintained. The hibiscus and other plants were beautiful. There is a shell wash station and boardwalk to the beach. We utilized the bikes as well and the bike trail is right across from the entry to the complex. I would not hesitate to stay here again and will recommend to others. Only a couple very minor things: The bikes are a little old and could be upgraded (one other biker on a trail heckled us jokingly about riding vintage bikes from the 1950s) - but they still worked!!! However, the bike tire pump did not work and we had to take the bikes to the nearby gas station to air the tires (again, no big deal). Take note that the floors are "thin" and you could hear the people above you. I would recommend ear plugs for this reason if you are a light sleeper. I also had some problems with noseeums on the beach one night as we watched the sunset and ended up with itchy welts. Bring some bug spray or buy some there for evening if spending time on the beach. All in all we loved our stay and this condo was great.

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at your Tarpon Beach condo. The unit was nicely appointed, very clean and comfortable. Being an end unit with extra windows made it bright and airy. The lanai was comfortable with a nice view of the gulf. The unit was in the gulf front building away from from any pool noise and yet close to the pool. We enjoyed the pool as it was a good size with ample pool furniture. The kitchen was well equipped with all appliances and every conceivable utensil and gadget. Bikes umbrellas and beach chairs were provided in a lockout closet. The owner was very responsive to a question I had.

PERFECT CONDO...ON A PERFECT BEACH!

We could not have found any other accomodations we would have been more pleased with on Sanibel Island. This condo was PERFECT...very clean, well maintained, furnished with all necessities (plus extras including bikes, beach chairs, and umbrellas), and a very convenient location. John corresponded several times with us by email prior to our arrival to insure everything would go smoothly. This trip was one of the most enjoyable trips....EVERYTHING was perfect....condo, weather, food, shelling, and beauty of the island. We had read about Sanibel for years and now we truly understand why it is recognized as one of the top beaches and places to visit. We visited all of the beach areas on Sanibel & Captiva and the shelling was the absolute best right in front of the condo!!! Thanks for sharing your condo with us!
