Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-8)

Our log cabin was completed in July of 2010 on 7.5 acres we fell in love with the first time we saw the property in March of 2009. This part of southern Indiana is so unique. The view reminds us of our many trips to eastern TN. We never get tired of seeing wild turkeys and white-tailed deer walking across the front yard. Since we are a mile off the main road and at the end of the lane, no traffic passes by. Couples and families have enjoyed our cabin. With solid log construction and wood through-out, this cabin is set apart from others. This is the only cabin on our property so it's the perfect getaway.

This quiet retreat area is just minutes away from a wide range of activities. Guest often comment that there is so much to do. You can enjoy Patoka Lake with all its boating, fishing, etc. Go to Indiana's playground in historic French Lick, IN. Not many small towns can offer a world class casino and golfing, indoor water park and go-carting, seasonal train rides into the Hoosier National Forest, local winery with a wonderful sample of Indiana's best wines, two historically registered hotels to tour, Paoli Peaks Snow skiing, and more.

About The Owner

We are Terry & Millie Giltner. This shows us with our 2 grandchildren who we love to spend time with as well our 2 daughters, son and son-in-law. We have a background in building log homes so building this vacation rental on property which we plan to also retire to was an amazing adventure. Living an hour away we manage and clean the cabin ourselves because we truly enjoy the time we spend on Turkey Hill.

Located 3.5 miles from French Lick, IN, Our property is home to wild turkeys and white-tailed deer which are frequently seen by visitors, along with open areas and a fire pit, we have wooded areas surrounding our top of the ridge property, located 5 miles French Lick Resort Casino, nearby indoor water park, Indiana Railway train rides, Patoka Lake just south of our location, French Lick Winery is a favorite of our guests, golf courses nearby, indoor laser tag and mini golf new in French Lick,etc.

The owners have done a great job looking after the property and making sure that everything was taken care of. The pictures do not do the property justice.
Tv controllers in the right spot, all instructions easy to find for stereo devices etc. all cooking utensils and
linens right where we needed them cabin was very clean.
We also enjoyed French lick dont miss Hinshaw rock n gems
The cabin was like new and the views of the stars and wildlife were also perfect.
We saw deer and a wild turkey,my dog Mollie had a great time roaming the hill next to the cabin.
It is rare when you get what you pay for I have almost become jaded with not trusting people but these owners are good people.
We will be back soon

Relaxing, Secluded Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed three days at this beautiful, secluded cabin! It was a great escape from the city and still had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed walking in the woods, spending lazy afternoons in the hot tub and cooking for each other at night. We'd highly recommend this country getaway!

My husband, my dogs and I share a couple of nights at this wonderful cabin. It has everything you need and more to enjoy the peaceful scenery on Turkey Hill. Our dogs loved every minute of our time spent there. Boy were they tired when we arrived home! I would recommend this property to all my family and friends and we plan on coming back in 2012. Don't know too much about the attractions around there, French Lick looked pretty nice. We just stayed at the property once we arrived. Didn't see any turkeys but did see a couple of deer. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us!!!!

What a wonderful experience! Have stayed at other VRBO properties in several states but this was the very best! The owners have created a haven in the woods with expertise and love. You can stay at the charming cabin and enjoy the serenity or travel a short distance and find a wide range of entertainment (casinos, spas, winery, indoor water park, PGA golf course, lake boating, etc).
