Snowmass Village House Rental Photos and Description
House, 6 Bedrooms, 5.5 Baths (Sleeps 12)
Enjoy yourself at our mountain retreat home! A perfect house for small groups or multi-generational families to enjoy a mountain fun filled vacation.
Galliwest has been extensively remodeled (completion November, 2010) and enlarged, making it one of the largest private home with ski-in-ski-out access available for rent in Snowmass (6 bedroom, 5.5 baths + powder rm, not counting the attached caretaker unit). It is on Woodrun I, the first of the on-the-mountain private housing areas in Snowmass. Snowmass is the largest and most popular mountain in the 4-mountain Aspen complex, with ample trails for beginning-, intermediate- and expert skiers.
An elevator in the stairwell rises from the 2-car garage and mudroom/ski storage area on the first floor to the 3 upper floors. The top floor has living room, dining room, kitchen and TV room, all furnished for large groups. On the 2nd and 3rd floors, there are 4 large front bedrooms, with king sized beds, flat screen televisions, en suite bathrooms, and sweeping valley views. Two of them open onto balconies or decks. Two have 2-person hot tubs in the bath. Two have large walk-in showers. A new hot-tub patio with 7-person Jacuzzi opens from the stairwell--to enhance your après ski enjoyment. All of the furniture, fixtures, bedding, beds, appliances, flooring, etc. is new. Two smaller bedrooms, one with two twin beds, one with a queen and a twin, are most often occupied by children or young adults and have beautiful serene views into the forest behind the home.
The living-dining area on the 4th floor opens onto large front and back decks. A large fully equipped kitchen that invites multi-cook meal preparation communicates with a dining area with two long tables seating 12-16.
There is a large living space that is separated into a comfortable fireplace area (perfect for relaxing after long days exploring & skiing) and a TV room. Large ceilings and top to bottom windows make it a spectacular living space.
There is a large office area on the 3rd floor, with two large desks, a computer and printer. The wifi serves the entire house.
There is a laundry area on the first bedroom floor, with a laundry chute down from the 3rd flr.
The unit is ideally suited for extended multi-generation families, like our own, or for 2-3 families that like to ski together, or for 4 couples with a few children. The house maintains a feeling of seclusion because of the unique woods that border the home. Although it is only a 5 minute drive to all amenities and a 20 minute drive to prestigious Aspen. Check http://www.aspenchamber.org/ or http://www.snowmassvillage.com/index.html for a list of all events. There is always something fun going on for all ages!
Anyone who books this season (2012-2013) will receive a 10% discount, on that season's rental rate, for every subsequent season in which they return, provided they book at least 6 months in advance.

Four generations of the Gallistel family have loved this Snowmass house. We built the original house in 1968 when Snowmass ski lifts opened, and renovated it in 2010, doubling the size and multiplying amenities. Dr. Lucie Gallistel Seward recently took over as managing partner from Dr. Charles Gallistel. We offer our guests a fabulous experience in hopes they will enjoy it as much as we do and come back year after year. Our family came to Aspen every year beginning in 1953. Dad and Mom skied well into their 80s and the younger generations share their lifelong enthusiasm.

Why Owner chose Snowmass Village
Galliwest house will be your first choice because of its ideal location on Snowmass Mountain. The elevator is a popular feature for reaching the top floor with its magnificent views. Families love that individual skiers or groups can leave and return on their own schedules. Ski down to the Elk Camp Gondola or Snowmass base village from Hidden Lane; ski home again for lunch or a hot tub. Summer is also fabulous at Galliwest, with hiking, biking, golf, tennis, fishing, swimming and many other activities, capped off by evening performances of the Aspen Music Festival.
What makes this house unique
Unique benefits of Galliwest include the three hot tubs (two inside, one outside), an elevator, patios and balconies on all floors, heated garage, dedicated caretakers next door, stone fireplace and fine furnishings and art work.
