Tom and Laurie O'Reilly
Tom and I got married on the beach on San Pancho in 2009. When planning a wedding you can count on gorgeous weather, blue skies & a perfect sunset EVERYDAY! We live here for 6 months & 6 months in Kelowna BC Canada. We have 7 grown children between us, thus the initial reason for the suite!
Tom has travelled the world and was always on the lookout for the perfect place to retire. Upon visiting friends in San Pancho 8 years ago, he fell in love with this quaint Mexican town and bought a place within a week! Since then we have built a beautiful casa we call home for 6 months of the year. The 1 or 2 bedroom suite is for family and when they are not here, it is a rental to share with you!
We love the closeness to everything! We like to keep fit so we golf at any of the 5 choices (all within a 1/2 hour drive.) Our favourite is Litibu (15 minutes away), a Greg Norman course managed by For Seasons Resorts ($80 range). We also like yoga at El Estar Yoga House ($10/drop in) Or we go for a good long walk. It takes about an hour to walk the beach from one end to the other and back again. And that is free!
We often find ourselves walking that beach and having a 'sunset' marguarita at our favorite beach bar, La Playa. 2 blocks away is Panchitas, a fabulous bar that has movies on Tuesday night and brazed brisket on Saturday nights(must get there early. It sells out fast! )
Restaurants? We loved to go to Maria's for breakfast or dinner and for a special treat, we love Ola Rica. Both are quaint and true to the Mexican heritage in food and decor. Both have sidewalk seating. Mariachi bands are always there for you. It's not uncommon to have horse or two trot by.
Like to watch soccer? Games are quite the event in town. The field is at the end of our street!
On Saturday nights, we have Polo. Yes, Polo. Some guy decided he wanted Polo and built this spectacular field. Its like the country club of San Pancho. Everyone dresses up. You sit in these white leather couches that are right on the field's edge. You can either have cocktails or a full course dinner. It's a must do for visitors!
All this is in San Pancho! We also love to do the markets. Saylalita is Saturday morning. La Pinta is Thursday. Both have everything from buckets to bananas and wonderful souvenirs for you to take home.
As I fill out this space to describe benefits of living here, i realized how lucky we are.
