The Perfect Place

We just returned from four wonderful weeks at the perfect vacation spot.
First of all, the accommodations were perfect. The pictures do not do the property justice; it far exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully furnished but also very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the TV room, with the large screen TV, leather chair and chaise lounge. The beds were wonderful, and we drifted off to sleep with a pleasant breeze and woke up to the song of the Coqui. The view from the inside the condo was great, and from the balcony it was spectacular, especially at sunset.
The location is perfect for exploring Puerto Rico. When you want to leave the privacy of Puerta del Mar, there are numerous places to visit that take no more than a day. Some of the places we enjoyed were the Lighthouse and park at Rincon, Ponce--which is very colorful and offers many opportunities for the photographer, El Yunque National Rain Forest , the tour in the glass bottom boat of the phosphorescent bay at La Parguera, and Old San Juan. There are also many excellent restaurants within a short drive from the condo. Cielo Mar Hotel is only minutes away and has a two for $20 menu on Thursday evening. This is another location for beautiful sunsets. Fu Fu on Route 2 is run by a husband and wife team and offers delicious African/Puerto Rican dishes. We enjoyed Mahi Mahi in Rincon for the fresh fish (best calamari we have ever had) and mojitos. We had an outstanding whole steamed fresh lobster dinner at La Casita Sea Food restaurant in La Parguera before our tour of the bay.
And lastly, Bert was a perfect host…very accommodating, generous and helpful. He was always available to assist us…even when we called from our car one evening when we were lost! You could not ask for a better host. Thank you, Bert, for a perfect vacation at Puerto del Mar. We plan on coming back.
Owner's Response: Hazel,
You are quite welcome. Considering that this was your first visit to Puerto Rico, I am delighted that you had a chance to visit some of the more popular attractions on the Island. It also seems you had no difficulty finding the local eateries on the west coast.
Not many people have the opportunity to move their work location from stateside to Puerto Rico......for a month, but I am honored that you chose us as your Caribbean office. I look forward to hosting you again when you decide to trade in Chicago winter blues for Aguadilla ocean views. Say hi to Michael.
Best regards,
Bert
