This charming and roomy single-family home sits on one of Williamstown's quietest and most family-friendly streets, with easy access to hiking trails, restaurants and a quiet park. A large front yard and even larger, fenced-in back yard with brand-new deck make this an ideal rental for pet owners and families with children.
The main floor holds the master bedroom with a 1/2 bath, as well as two smaller bedrooms, family room with deck access, a music / receiving room, full and recently renovated kitchen, and full shared bath. The entire house has cable TV and WiFi.
The lower floor holds two finished bedrooms; a bathroom with shower; a semi-finished exercise room with a treadmill; and an unfinished central portion that includes laundry facilities and a ping pong table.
Williamstown boasts easy access to Mount Greylock, Massachusetts' highest peak, as well as numerous wildlife preserves and hiking areas, including Hopkins Forest, managed and maintained by Williams College. The Village maintains Margaret Lindley Park, a swimming hole five minutes away by car on Route 7, while the Sand Springs Pool, a privately operated swimming facility, is a ten-minute walk or two-minute drive from the house. Lakes for swimming and fishing are located in nearby North Adams and Lanesborough.
Two golf courses, Waubeeka and Taconic, serve Williamstown; Waubeeka is semi-private, and Taconic, in South Williamstown, is public.
Home to Williams College, Williamstown is filled with cultural opportunity out of all proportion to its size. The Williams College Museum of Art, Clark Art Institute, and Mass MoCA are all within a few minutes of our house, and Pittsfield, 25 minutes away, offers world-class summer theater through the Barrington Stage Company. Children's summer camp options also abound, many through the coaching staff of Williams College, who offer boys and girls top-notch instruction in basketball, soccer, tennis, squash, and more, while more traditional camps, such as Camp Sarsaparilla in nearby Pownal, VT, all of two miles distant, offer a variety of summer fun options for younger children.
