This is the first round glass house built in 1957 by a famous mason and was pictured in the Los Angeles Times and numerous other newspapers. It Is One Of A Kind!!!!! Just an hour and a half to Los Angeles.

This landmark home has views and is directly in the center of the historical cholla gardens, plus the beautiful San Gorgonio mountains. It sits on over one acre of beautifully landscaped gardens and paths. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 queen beds, 1 queen couch, and two single beds, sleeps 8-10 with futons, and pullouts.

Two large patios, barbecue, park like setting. 5 blocks to nearest hot springs. 5 minutes to a fitness center, 15 minutes to Palm Springs, 5 minutes to the famous Cabot Yerxes Lodge Museum, 45 minutes to Joshua Tree, 15 minutes to Bob Hope Casino, 35 minutes to the Outlets, 2 minutes to Golf course, 2 minutes to walking trails.

Numerous Hot Springs everywhere.....nearest one is 5 blocks away

Equipped with full kitchen, spices, teas, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, refrigerator with ice maker, electric range, toaster/oven, full large oven, washer/dryer in garage, towels and sheets. Circular driveway with room for 4 cars. Gardens light up at night with double switch, heating, air-conditioning, moveable Amish fireplace, cable TV, WiFi (Wireless Internet) 3 TV’s with DVD slots, DVD’s available in living room with full library and maps of nearby areas. Mexican pavers throughout the house.

This is a perfect getaway for the bustle of city life.

It can accommodate and is absolutely perfect for yoga and meditation retreats as well as weddings and large family gatherings.

About The Owner

At age 18 I read the Adele Davis book 'Lets Eat Right to Keep Fit.' That was 56 years ago. That was my bible. I have been on the path to health and nutrition ever since. Too many people today encourage diseases by their poor nutrition and by overeating. Today we MUST supplement our nutrition with appropriate vitamins and minerals because our many foods are lacking those essential elements that we need to sustain a good long and healthful life. Desert life fit right in to a healthful way of life.

The Owner purchased this house in 2000
Why The Owner chose Desert Hot Springs

I fell in love with the gardens on this 1.2 acre property. The Round Glass House is a dream come true. Wild life is abundant. When I stay here I go no where else. I just sit and look at the beauty and the squirrels, chipmunks, quail, roadrunners, cottontails, and an occasional coyote. Nite sunsets with bright stars!!! Shining all over the universe!

SECOND TIME WAS EVEN BETTER

Can't begin to tell you how much we all enjoyed our recent stay at the Round House. It is our second visit and this one was even better than the first...perhaps because the first was for 10 days and this one was for 5 whole weeks!! Just simply wonderful. We are already planning our visit for next winter. The Round House is comfortable, clean and well maintained. The pictures don't do it justice. We did make several day trips (Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, Spa, etc) but most of the time we had a hard time pulling ourselves away from the house. Thanks so much and we're looking forward to next time.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

This is a very special place. If you love a quiet location, landscaped desert gardens, desert views and special vintage architecture, this is your place. It needs however some flexibility to adjust to the room layout. Some of the appliances and furniture are quite vintage, too. With four people, we enjoyed the garden, lots of space and the special layout of the house.

We had a wonderful time at the round glass house in Desert Hot Springs. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 6 children. The kitchen was well supplied with all the necessary things. This is our sixth rental and this was probably the most comfortable. Its a beautiful serene park like setting when the winds aren't blowing.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Beautiful house with wonderful garden

This place is ideal for bird watching. The patio is great place to watch the birds and wildlife any time of day and you are 10 minutes from Big Morongo Canyon and Whitewater Reserve. Jane has thought of everything so it is a very comfortable and easy place to stay. Fantastic place to relax. She is a wonderful host! We didn't want to leave and would stay there again anytime.

GREAT PLACE FOR FAMILY GATHERINGS

I HAD THE PLEASURE AND PRIVILEGE OF STAYING IN THE ROUND HOUSE. IT WAS A VERY COMFORTABLE AND ACCOMMODATING HOME TO HAVE MY FAMILY GATHER. WE ALL HAD PLENTY OF ROOM TO BE TOGETHER AND ROOM TO DO OUR OWN THING.

BEING FROM OREGON, WITH 60 TO 100 INCHES OF RAIN PER YEAR, THE DESERT WEATHER WAS FABULOUS AND APPRECIATED. EVEN THE WILD WARE DESERT WINDS WERE EXHILARATING.

THE HOUSE WAS EQUIPPED WITH MOST EVERYTHING YOU NEED. JUST BRING FOOD AND PERSONALS AND YOU ARE SET FOR A WONDERFUL STAY.

THE PATIOS WERE RELAXING AND INSPIRING. OVERLOOKING THE CACTUS GARDEN. WATCHING THE QUAILS, DOVES, RABBITS, ROAD RUNNERS, SQUIRRELS AND MY FAVORITE, THE HUMMING BIRDS, WERE ONE OF THE HIGH LIGHTS OF THE STAY.

WATCHING THE SUN RISES, SUN SET AND THE FULL MOON WERE ALL SPECTACULAR SITTING ON THE COMFORTABLE CHAIRS ON THE PATIOS.

THE HOUSE HAD A GREAT VIEW OF THE SURRONDING MOUNTAINS. EVEN WHEN YOU ARE ON THE INSIDE YOU HAVE A FEELING OF BEING OUTSIDE WITH THE HUGE FLOOR TO CEILING WINDOWS.

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER WINTER GET A WAY IN THE ROUND HOUSE. THANK YOU JANE
