This is a very unique loft style property featuring 15 foot high ceilings, skylights, a large mezzanine bedroom with beautiful wooden floors & oversize custom made wardrobe with its bright en-suite bathroom, the bedroom overlooks the living-room.
The nice modern American kitchen offers a breakfast bar and opens onto the living/dining room that leads to a lovely balcony with views to a wide quiet street with colorful 'bougainvillea'.
It is a gorgeous apartment which benefits from all the colonial charm: iron work & Calicanto walls (original stone wall from the 17th Century) all around the condo with a great homey feeling.
The condo is fitted with high end amenities, a phone with free local calls and also the use of a cell phone during your stay.
It is next to the famous “La Merced” Church which façade was transported stone by stone after the 1st city (Panama La Vieja) was destroyed…the building was actually the living quarters of the monks;-)
The condo is steps away from restaurants, bars & cafés, the famous Plaza Cathedral with the Museum of the canal & the up-coming Plaza Herrera which will soon host 2 boutique Hotels.
Casco Viejo (also known as Casco Antiguo) is an effervescent neighborhood with its beautiful restored colonial buildings, home to the President Palace, the French Embassy & a gorgeous promenade with awesome views to the city's skyline & the Amador Causeway (entrance of the Panama Canal).
It also offers fine dining & entertainment with the National Theatre, great outdoor cafés for a nice drink on one of the charming plazas...an enjoyment by itself!
Its perfect location between down-town & Amador, a 5 to 10 Min’s taxi ride, makes it a conveniently central “pied-a-terre”!
For your convenience we also offer airport transfers & tours and can welcome you in 5 languages: Spanish, English, French, Italian and German.
Come and enjoy Panama by staying in this little gem:-)
Please note that it is not recommended for people with knee injuries as there is no elevator.
Looking forward welcoming you, Patty & Rudy
P.S. we also have a studio in the same building & a 1 bedroom condo in Amador by the Causeway (entrance of the Panama Canal).
P.S.2 Pictures were taken by Rudy...no staging...and he is no professional photographer so this is what you get...no tricks!!!

Besides this porperty we also own a studio in the same building, a 1 bedroom condo in Amador and a brand new mountain villa 50 Minutes from the city...a paradise for those of you who are seaking relaxation and recharging batteries!
Patty purchased this condo in 2010
We bought this property for us however since we have so much successs renting our studio located in the same building we decided to purspone until retirement time and in the mean time welcome guests to enjoy it;-)
We love the colonial neighborhood of Casco Viejo (UNESCO World Heritage) – it’s vibrant and has some of the best restaurants in town...not to mention that it is fascinating to wonder about in its little colonial streets admiring the buildings amazing architectures.
It’s the up-coming neighborhood of the city, it is centrally located between the banking district (2 min’s drive) and the Amador Causeway (5 min’s drive) and now is also walking distance to the new coastal belt where you can jog or just take a walk.
Lots of entertainments like the national Theatre and all the different venues: the Jazz and Music festival. You’ll find a variety of little shops with beautiful Panamanian handcrafts and every Sunday the flea market.
Casco Viejo is a great walking neighborhood home to the Presidential Palace, the Mayor’s Office (in our street) and the French Embassy.
It’s a perfect Holiday spot…and we have taken great care of making the loft as cozy as possible with high end amenities.
Great balcony with a view (not onto the neighboors!) and the very high ceilings with the original 'calicanto' walls!
Thanks to Rudy and Patty, our trip was wonderful. The Loft was perfect in locations, size, décor, and convenience.
Rudy was a great tour guide and offered lots of help about the area. Had we stayed in a hotel without any help of a guide, we would have been lost, not being able to speak Spanish. We enjoyed all of Rudy's tours and highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable about the area, speaks good English, knows the locals, the best restaurants, and advise on what is safe and not so safe. The combination of the condo and the tours with a family team working together to help visitors enjoy and learn about Panama. I'm so thankful we choose Patty & Rudy!
First and foremost, I have to talk about the exemplary service received from the hosts. They are truly welcoming and go out of their way, to be a resource for your visit to Panama. They are dedicated to their clients and are available to answer any question or request. Second... The location is PERFECT! Did I mention PERFECT!! Great coffee shop 1/2 block away, easy walk to cool bars, bistros, jazz club, micro-brew and to the causeway for a longer walk along the water. Third... the condo itself is very lovely and has everything you need for a stay... from kitchen gear, to great bathrooms and bedding, and wifi and satellite TV. It really was like a mini-retreat. I will definitely go back. Wish it was tomorrow! P.S. Check out Rudy's tours which are also available for purchase through the condo. Very personalized and amazing adventures in Panama
We felt lucky to find such a wonderful, stylish loft apartment right in the heart of Panama old town. The owners were incredibly helpful to us advising of local restaurants and attractions to visit. A great start to our holiday. Highly recommended.
We recently returned from a five day stay in Panama City and stayed at Patty and Rudy's loft apartment. It was wonderful...my husband refers to it as our five star accommodation. The loft was spotless and the kitchen was better equipped than my kitchen at home to say nothing about the wonderful bed, linens, and towels. I loved staying in the old city and it was small enough that we could walk anywhere. We usually ate out as far as lunch was concerned and then came back to have a very light dinner on our balcony. What a treat that was!!! We have already told friends of ours who are thinking about a trip to Panama that the loft is the place to stay in Panama City. There are sight-seeing brochures at the loft and both Patty and Rudy are glad to help with any questions you might have. Rudy is a licensed tour guide and speaks perfect English as does Patty so there are no language barriers. Cabs are plentiful and not expensive so getting around town is not a problem at all.
My friends and I traveled through Central America for a month and our last location was Casco Viejo in Panama City. We found Patty's Casitas on the internet and it looked like a wonderful place to relax before our journey home. We arranged through Patty for a driver to pick us up at the airport and they were very prompt. When we arrived at the "Loft" we were met by Patty (a lovely young lady) who greeted us and showed us around the property. We were blown away by how beautiful the property was. This newly renovated apartment far exceeded our expectations in comfort, furnishings and location. The location of the property was perfect walking distance to anywhere in the Casco Viejo area. There were convenience stores, deli's and many wonderful restaurants within minutes. We also arranged a day tour of the Panama Canal and City with Patty's husband Rudy. He was very nice and knowledgeable. The tour was a "must" if you've never been to the Canal or City. Patty and Rudy are first class and you won't be disappointed with their service or accommodations. Our group voted Patty's Casita the best place we stayed during our month tour of Central America. We love Panama!!! Thank you Patty and Rudy.
We stayed in the condo apartment the last weekend of March and loved it. We had gotten by with crowded space for a week, and this gave us a setting to relax for our final days with our daughters. Patti won our business with her prompt responses, and she arranged all our taxi pick-ups as well as a City/Canal tour with Rudy.
This renovated space from a 1680 building is modern and comfortable. The hand mirror mounted in just the right place by the bathroom sink was a sweet touch, as was having a hair dryer. The master bedroom overlooking the living room was perfect for our thirty-something girls, and the private bedroom was fine for us. Kitchen, two bathrooms, and laundry on ground level met all our needs. After eating out for a week we enjoyed cooking. The fish market was a comfortable walk away, and we took several shopping forays to the square. Even though it was the beginning of Carnival and noisy Friday night, we enjoyed being in Casco Viejo. In fact, we wouldn't have wanted to miss it, and hope we can visit wonderful Panama again and stay in one of Rudy and Patty's properties. We definitely recommend Patty's Casitas to friends, relatives and anyone we meet.
Yes, the apartment was very clean, stocked with a few basics in the kitchen, and the cleaning lady was there before we left. She or Rudy and Patty were willing to use the few groceries we hadn't been able to eat.
Being hosted by this experienced young couple made our stay very much better. Rudy is Panamanian with parts of his life spent in Italy. Patty is European, multiple-lingual, and has a master's degree in Hotel Management.
