Welcome to Lapping Waters, a casual user friendly summer cottage with private sandy beach, dock, and raft. The home is literally steps from Lake Winnipesaukee (LW), with a large deck over looking the water, mountain views to the west and north. The home is situated at the entrance of the Barber Pole on LW, with a small private cove with a sandy beach, across from Cow Island. The cottage has three simple bedrooms that sleep 6, and a detached sleeping cabin that sleeps 2. The cottage is a one room open concept, with the kitchen, dinning room (table seats 8-10) with family room. There is a small bathroom with full shower/tub. The kitchen has all the basic amenities, with an extra refrigerator on the fully enclosed porch located off the kitchen. Renters may bring their own boat to dock. (Jet skis are NOT permitted) Included in the rent is access to one canoe, one person kayak, paddles and life jackets. Game closet, TV/ with small video collection. The cottage is a simple traditional lake house, located just outside Wolfeboro, easy access to local hiking spots, as well as an hour from the White Mountains for longer hikes and outlet shopping. Beautiful sunsets, great spot for families to relax and reconnect.

Lapping Waters has been in the family since 1922, with the original lake house burning down in 1960. The house was rebuilt as a one level ranch style cottage. Generations have grown up at Lapping Waters, with great memories, as it is truly one of the best locations on the lake.

What makes this cottage unique

Lapping Waters offers a private location on LW, but yet close enough to numerous attractions in Wolfeboro, Meredith, Portsmouth, Conway, NH and Portland , ME to take advantage of many outdoor activities, shopping and restaurants. Much to do and/or see, or simply relax lake side!

There are four golf clubs in the area, two museums (Libby Museum & Wright Mueseum), and Castle in the Clouds, which has horseback riding. The Squam Lake Science Center and Loon Center is about 30 minutes away, while the famous "Storyland" amusement park is 1 1/4 hours away. Plenty of local hiking spots, Mount Major, Bald Nob, Red Hill, Abenaki Fire Tower, to name a few, while you are also about 30 min. from Mt. Chocorua and 1 hr from numerous White Mountain hikes. Plenty of antiquing options in the Lakes Region. Kayak rentals can be found in Wolfeboro, as well as day trips around Lake Winnipesaukee on the famous Mt. Washington Boat. There is a small movie theater 30 min. away in Meredith. Bicycles are welcome! There are gyms, a yoga/spinnng center, public tennis/basketball courts, children's playground and a laundromat , located in downtown Wolfeboro. Check out Great Waters Music Festival for summer concert series, and Tamworth Barnstormers for theatre.

We stayed at this home last year and will be visiting again this year. It is one of those comfortable homes that is a true Lake Winnipesaukee home. We were entertained by the decor and old time books. One downsfall is only one bathroom but it makes you have patience and slow down on your holiday. Owners are amazing a wrote a thank you note when they recieived our deposit.Comfortable but you don't feel like it is not lived in. With two docks and one connecting to a quiet sandy cove and the other on the main part of the lake it was perfect. Great fire pit! Level property for our daughter who uses a wheelchair. A small dock just far enough out to swim to and sun on. Close to Wolfeboro for some nighttime ice cream. Our new annual vacation spot!
