About Charlotte

We were invited to Big Bear to stay at a friend's cabin and liked it so much, we bought a cabin near them. We think it is one of the nicest areas on the mountain.

Charlotte purchased this cabin in 2003

We spent our honeymoon in big Bear over 25 years ago, and dreamed of purchasing a lodge then. This house was a dream come true! It's not fancy, but very functional and comfortable, with lots of amenities. Come relax, and have a good time. Make yourself at home.

What makes this cabin unique

Extra private, with a vacant lot on both sides, backing to the forest. Lots of mature pines bring shade and wildlife.

We love to walk in the forest, along the stream, and look for Mr Beaver, climb on the big rocks in the forest, go boating, or rent kayaks and pedal boats at the nearby Pleasure Point Marina. Fishing charters are a treat! We come up for shows at the Performing Arts Center, just steps away. We can offer you a 10% discount at Pleasure Point Marina.

We back to the forest, near a stream, for beautiful scenery, sounds of wildlife, and fresh mountain air! A Bear was seen on the property Mid Sept. 2011, and August 10, 2012. The bear quickly ran away both times, but don't leave food out, just in case!

Our lovely weekend at the Rubicon cabin

We had 2 most relaxing nights at the cabin.
Upon arrival, the property was very clean. We really appreciated the quiet and privacy. Neighbours dog barks - so we just went over and made friends with him and that fixed it.

Wonderful fireplace. Enjoyed some good wine in front of that. Plenty of entertainment for the kids in board games and PS2. I did Rock Band for the first time - and with my son! The multi sports table in the room is just great. We did them all - foosball, air hockey and pool - very cool for the family.

Great kitchen. We ate out one night and cooked in the second.

Overall, very pleasant, very relaxing, very quiet - and - no stress! That made it for us.
Charlotte was always available for questions and tips.

We were more than satisfied with this cabin - have nothing negative to say and would stay there again next time we visit.

Perfect Getaway!

We definitely enjoyed our stay :) The house has sooo many fun things to do and it feels like a home away from home. The fireplace was amazing, the rooms were cozy, the kitchen was fully stocked with way more than expected, the written notes and hints around the house were really helpful, we got to play air hockey, foosball, and pool in the evening hours. You guys really covered all the bases to make it a great experience. There is plenty of privacy and a huge forest to go hiking in right behind the house. We found a stream and followed it into the mountains and enjoyed all that nature had to offer. We will definitely be back!

Winter Family Vacation

Our family has been staying at this cabin for three years in a row. And every year it's such a memorable experience. The location is perfect because we have children and the snow in the yard is good enough to entertain them. The house is perfect for just staying in and making dinner which saves on expenses of taking a vacation. We especially love the convenience of a washer and dryer. And the nice large dining room table. Allows everyone a chance to eat dinner together. Look forward to our next visit.
