Thank you all for another enjoyable weekend at your cabin Hidden Cove. Once again we checked into a super clean place with a warm bubbling hot tub. Loved all the new furniture. The sofa is extremely comfortable and the new dinning room set is adorable. New stain out side even new deck furniture. Everyone in our group appreciates how well you keep your place up. The roads are paved and its easy to get a round. We made it into town in less than 20 mins. Notice too some new stores that opened. Love the new restaurants that you told us about in our welcome package. Suba's has some excellent food selections especially their deserts. I appreciated the heads up on the dishwasher. Sears was in and out in 30 mins after replacing with a new one. It worked great too. We also appreciated the bottle of Champagne, how nice of you to remember our wedding anniversary. You guys do a great job and we'll continue to return every year. Please reserve the spring race dates for 2015. We look forward to our return trip. If you send us the link we'll post our review where ever you like or you are welcome to Post on our behalf.

If you love 'God's' country, beautiful scenery and views an dif your idea of 'wildlife' is deer and turkey then you have picked the right spot! Watauga Lake & River vacation cabin rentals purchased this cabin in 2009

The most unique benefit is the versatility of this location.

Snow skiing to jet skiing, Fall foliage to wildlife viewing right here on the property. Gorgeous views anytime of the year that are second to none. Paved roads, with good access to town, shopping and restaurants. Zip lines, whitewater rafting, Bristol race. Where mtns meet water.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Hidden Cove cabin

  • 5 of 5
This place is as described, adorable. It sits hill side over looking the lake and mountains. The front yard is like a rolling meadow down to the water. Just a short walk and you have a dock where our kids swam and played. The canoe was a big hit, we used it every day. The trip into the cherokee national forest was fun and educational. I had no idea how many caves and rock formations were back there. Just gorgeous. As our welcome package suggested we also rented two boats at the local marina. The boats were very inexpensive, new and very well kept. We rented two boats one for fishing and the other for tubing. The marina was very nice and accommodating. I would highly encourage anyone staying here to rent a boat even if its just for a day or an afternoon.
The only problem we had at the cabin was with the hot tub. Too many of us wanted in it at the same time! It holds eight people but we had 10 in our party and two were always having to wait there turn. It was a great stay, everything was wonderful and everyone there was very nice and helpful. Not sure when, but one day we all hope to return to Hidden Cove. Thank you very much for sharing your home.

Hidden Cove is Light and Refreshing!

  • 4 of 5
The Hidden Cove was one of two cabins we recently rented for a family reunion. It gave us the flexibility of bringing our dog to the mountains with us. It is light and airy - very open and inviting! The weather was awesome! From the deck we had the best seats in three counties for the fireworks in the entire valley! good times!

Owner's Response: You are right, Hidden Cove is a great cabin with great views and a complimentary canoe. It was brought to our attention that you spent the weekend on our neighbors dock. Your dock which was right next door had your canoe. Had you called or emailed we would have directed you to it. So sorry that you visited the wrong dock, just glad our neighbor wasn't there and didn't mind. Next time call for A+ service.

Beautiful house in quiet corner of the lake!

  • 4 of 5
We came down here, sight unseen, for a 4 day New Years getaway. The house itself was in great condition and had more than enough amenities and creature comforts to make us feel right at home. We made great use of the fully fitted kitchen, living space, and everything else. The hot tub was set at 103 upon our arrival which was nice because we didn't have to wait for it to warm up like other places I've been. The bedrooms were very roomy and comfortable, especially the master suite on the 3rd floor. The views of the lake and mountains were incredible. The house was very close to a lot of local establishments and a quick 45 minute trip to Boone and other nearby towns where we spent afternoons hiking, shopping, and dining. I felt like the only downfall was the fact that many of the local stores and attractions listed in the welcome packet (restaurants, winery, etc.) were closed for the season - it should be noted for winter travelers that some of these may not be an option. Other than that, we had a wonderful trip and will definitely consider returning in the warmer months. Also the fact that dogs were allowed really helped us out - they had an absolute blast running around the spacious yard and surrounding wooded areas.

Owner's Response: So glad you folks enjoyed the cabin. Its a great place offering lots of space for any large group or family. Our housekeeper does an excellent job of keeping the hot tub piping hot for guests. She checks on every cabin prior to the guests arrival to make sure its renter ready. Our housekeeper has been with us for 15 yrs, was born and raised in the area and is a great gal. Yes, during the winter season snow tubing and skiing is the high life around here. Near by Beech and Sugar mtn provide lots of that. Boone Nc is 18 miles down the road and has lots of restaurants that are open year round. There's a few lake side places that close during the winter months but know the marina's are always open 24/7 for any of you die heart fishermen.
Come join us any season, for a different experience. See fall foliage with brilliant colors, Snowy winter mornings, the first buds of spring or stay summers and really enjoy the water.
Come back anytime, you are more than welcome. Know too you'll receive a return guest discount your next trip back!

Nice vacation at a beautiful place

  • 5 of 5
Our family stayed here for the past week. We followed the welcome package supplied by Melody and did pretty much everything on the list. The boat rentals at the local marina's were inexpensive and everyone there were the nicest, very helpful. Everyone in the area was friendly and helpful. The near by hiking trails are a must but the real treat is the canoe that comes with the cabin. We took it straight into the Cherokee National Forest and saw lots of deer and turkey. Went exploring too and found several caves.
The cabin was very clean and well cared for. The master bedroom is extremely large and has fantastic view of the lake and mtns. The other bedrooms were of good size and each has glass doors that open up onto the deck. That's really nice just to walk outside from your bedroom. Kitchen has everything you would expect and a little more. So glad to have found a wine opener. Lots of glassware, pot pans and even a crock pot. The linens are nicer and newer. Some places we've stayed offered sheets that looked like they'd been thru a war. The hot tub and fire pit are located on the same side of the place overlooking the lake, kinda hidden which we liked. The hot tub was clean, running and very warm upon arrival. I liked that service. If you're like us and have dogs this is a great choice, there's lots of yard to run and no danger of cars riding by or other people too close. A well cared for cabin like Hidden Cove is so much more appreciated. You can tell the owner really loves their place.
We did call the maintenance man once because of some ground hornets near by. No body got stung because we stayed away and once he came they were gone for good.
Thanks so much for making our stay wonderful. We had a great time.

Perfect place for a relaxing vacation!

  • 5 of 5
The cabin was clean and spacious with an amazing view of the lake! We started every morning drinking coffee on the balcony and every night in the hot tub or around the fire pit...it doesn't get more relaxing than that. Boone was a short drive and such a cute town to grab dinner or go shopping. A few of us also went to Hawksnest to go zip-lining and had an amazing time, we definitely recommend going there! Melody was so helpful in preparing us for our trip, especially since we were driving a long distance (PA and LA). The people at the Dry Hill General store were also very friendly and helpful, and have amazing homemade pumpkin butter and pies! The only problem that we had was locating the paddles for the canoes, it turns out they were at different docks, but that wasn't a big deal! We are already planning a trip back!

Notes:
After renting cabins ourselves for years we knew the important factors and convenience, Comfort and Privacy were at the top of our list. The great room offers an open floor plan combining living area, dining room and kitchen. This allows everyone to be together whether cooking, watching TV & playing board games at the dining room table. Folks who are on Deck are just off the great room and just a yell away. The large six person hot tub is on deck too secluded on the side of the home overlooking the water and mtn range. Parking for RV/Boat/Trailer: You are able to bring and park trailers and boats * Lake View: with boat slip and canoe just a few mins walk. You have an absolutely gorgeous view of the lake and Cherokee National Forest * Mountain View: Cherokee National forest * Boat rentals at the Local marina's.
