We had a great time staying here. It was well kept when we arrived and had everything we needed. The kitchen in particular was clearly newly-done and more well-stocked than most vacation rentals I've been to. There are limited options for pet-friendly condos at Snowshoe so I was happy to find this one that accommodated our dogs. The location is really convenient from the Powder Ridge lift and is right on one of the least crowded northernmost runs.
The only downside is it was a bit smaller than I was expecting. We maxed out the stated capacity with 8 adults, and it was a little cramped for that, with 4 of us sharing one bedroom (queen plus 2 bunk beds) and 2 others on the couch. We made it work but it would be more ideal for 4-6 people.
The owner makes this very very easy for groups since there is key code entry and no check-in/check-out procedure with the resort. I got my deposit back promptly about a week after leaving. We would definitely stay here again, just maybe with a smaller group!
My family had the best time of their life. The property was spotless, great layout, WFI and long distance phone included, nice views, all new kitchen appliances, every thing was there on the rental. The owner Shirley was extremely helpful in every aspects of the reservation including information concerning services on the mountain. We are going to reserve this unit again for the 2014 ski vacation.

With there being so many other places to stay in Snowshoe, I would definitely pursue those long before staying here. I had a very bad experience renting from Condos East and would not want someone else to have the same. Before we even left for our trip, the woman sent us a contract promising us Whistlepunk and then realized she had rented it the same time to someone else so she put us in Poweridge which was the same price but not as desirable. At this point it was too late to find anything else so we took it. One of the reasons we did this was she said we could stay an extra few hours to get some skiiing in so this sold us. We got there and it was very mediocre with old decor and the fridge door had a broken piece. It was also not really ski in/ski out -more like walk a few blocks and then put on your skiis and ski down. Also, I had to call her at 10 pm before we left since she never sent the code to the door! Forgot maybe? But the rudest part was that a few weeks after we stayed there, we asked for our security deposit back, we cleaned the place way BETTER then how we found it! She said no, we had stayed a few hours past check out. This was the whole REASON we stayed there and put up with a less than nice condo- for that little extra time!! She promised that was okay and no one was renting after us. The cleaning lady came as we were leaving and I said "we are just leaving" and she said "that's okay- I'm not cleaning this unit today, I was just making sure it was locked up properly." Then Shirley at Condos East gave us less than HALF our deposit back saying her hands were tied and the cleaning people charged her extra. Well, I knew this was NOT true since I had actually spoken to them but at this point, why argue with someone who's clearly not being honest. I hope that $125 was worth me and anyone I know in Raleigh not renting again from her! Most of my friends ski Snowshoe but we will never stay at any place she rents in the future. It's too bad people are like that. Plus she never mentioned there was NO cell service and NO wifi which in this day and age is ridiculous. I will now read reviews before renting a place!

Owner's Response: I notified the guest within 24 hours that Whistlepunk was booked. They needed a pet friendly unit so I put them in Powderidge which is also pet friendly.
Powderidge is listed by Snowshoe and all other companies as ski in ski out. I e mailed them a brochure that contained the entry code and phone # on the front which also includes the units phone number.
Check out time on the mountain is 11am I can extend to 12 noon and in this case to 1 pm. The cleaning service came back to the unit at 4pm and the guests were still in the unit. I had to pay the cleaning serice for a late check out.
Guest receieved $125.00 out of the $200 security deposit.
This unit obviously has a land line and if they really needed wifi Starbucks has access.
I take all reviews very seriously and will do everything to that I need to do inorder to communicate all policies in writing
