There is a large screened in porch off the living room which is great for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning, having dinner on the porch in the evening, playing board games anytime with the kids. It is the perfect recipe for a relaxing vacation spot.
The master bedroom is very spacious, and has a great setup with the master bath and vanity area being separate. The master bedroom is located on the top floor of the home, boasts cathedral ceilings and lots of natural light. This room actually opens to the living area below for a dramatic view of the living room.
Guest bedroom number one, adjoins the living room/dining room, has been recently remodeled and makes this bedroom true one level living. If you have a guest coming that might have issues with steps, this is the bedroom for them! This rooms boasts two queen beds, a bath and its own deck.
The two lower level guest bedrooms have also been recently remodeled and have new 2 Queeen Serta beds. Each of the guest rooms has a hair dryer and personal refrigeratior for your convenience. These bedrooms also have decks with outside furniture for sitting outside and enjoying the evening.
Note: All bedrooms can be accessed from inside the home without having to step outside. Some homes within the Estates require you to enter the additional guest bedrooms from outside. This home has internal access to all bedrooms which is very convenient if you have kids staying with you and they are staying in one of the other bedrooms or if it is raining or cold outside.
The Lake House comes complete with a full size washer and dryer so you may wash clothes if necessary while on vacation. If you are staying for an extended period this is very handy to help reduce the amount of items you have to pack. The washer and dryer also come in handy in keeping up with your pool/lake towels so you have fresh towels when you get ready to head out for the day.
If you are looking for something to eat and do not want to leave the Tan-Tar-A resort complex, there are two resort restaurants on site with full menus for a great dinining experience. If you are looking for something a little more casual and quick, there is a Burger King and Sbarro's Pizza on-site within the main resort facilities. When the kids are done eating, they may want to visit the arcade, bowling alley, or mini golf right here at the resort.

Pools
If you or the kids enjoy spending the day at the pool, you will have access to two estate pools, the Cedar Glenn pool (large pool, very relaxing, and you may bring your own beverages) and the Estates Pool with great views of the lake. Both pools have bbq grills for your use, and plenty of new furniture for eating, or relaxing in the sun with your favorite book. The Cedar Glenn pool is just down the block from this home.
Please note, you will not have access to the Tan-Tar-A Resort pools, but you will have access to the Tan-Tar-A Estates pools.
Golfing
Within the Tan-Tar-A resort/estates complex you will find the Hidden Lakes golf course. 34 traps of white sand, winding fairways and breathtaking hillside vistas are the backdrop for this 9-hole championship course designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge. A par of 35 makes this uniquely designed course a must-play when visiting Tan-Tar-A. Hidden Lakes is opens Weekends mid-April and opens daily in May. Hidden Lakes is closed on Mondays. Hidden Lakes golf rates are $29 for 9 holes and $39 for 18 holes.
Timber Falls Waterpark at Tan-Tar-A Resort
The indoor waterpark centers on a three-story 'Ozark wilderness' tree house topped with a 6-foot-wide wooden bucket. The tree house is complete with water blasters and lots more interactive fun.
Beware! The giant bucket tips every minute, cascading more than 600 gallons of water on those standing below — prepare to get wet!
Timber Falls also features over 600 feet of water slides (two slides from the tree house and two from an adjacent tower), an activity pool with water basketball and other games, a 21-seat whirlpool for family relaxation, and a lazy river for tube floating.
Its great having this indoor waterpark so close to The Lake House. If you have bad weather while staying at the lake everyone can still get their fix of being in the water by going over to the waterpark. You're at the lake, everyone wants to be in the water, don't let the weather hamper your vacation! Timber Falls Waterpark passes are availablle for $22 per day per adult.
There is also an outdoor waterpark within 15 minutes of our home called Big Surf Waterpark. Located between Osage Beach and Camdenton you are sure to enjoy the many water activities available at Big Surf. Offering a lazy river, wave pool, Zambezi Falls, Challenger flumes and much more. Boat and Jet Ski rentals/Slip rentals
Tan-Tar-A Resort, which adjoins The Lake House, has its own marina and boat slip rentals as well as a boat ramp to launch your own watercraft if you are bringing down your boat/pwc. Having the boat ramp, slip rentals, marina, gas, and related amenities this close to The Lake House is very convenient. Call the marina at 1-800-826-8272 for availability and rental rates on various sizes of boats and watercraft.
We have also provided a link to Bridgeport Boat Rentals within the links secition of this web-site. Depending on where you want to go on the lake it may be cheaper and more convenient to rent your boat or personal watercraft from another location on the lake.
Hiking/Exploring
Ha Ha Tonka State Park offers miles and miles of hiking trails with natural bridges, scenic overlooks, and a huge spring which feeds 58 million gallons of water daily into the Lake of the Ozarks.
You will also want to check out the castle ruins while at Ha Ha Tonka state park. Ruins of a European style castle which was started in the early 1900's by a wealthy Kansas City businessman and was later destroyed by fire.
If you enjoy caves and are looking for something fun to do on one of those hot Missouri afternoons, then visit Bridal Cave. Rated as one of the most scenic caves in America, the caves 60 degree environment will feel very refreshing and relaxing when the heat index is 95+ outside. Check out Bridal Cave on the web.
