1870'S HOME ON AMAZING SOUTHERN SETTING (PRIVATE/QUIET/RELAXING)

Springfield Chateau / Country House Rental Photos and Description

Chateau / Country House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5-6)

La Petite Maison, 'The Little House', is a beautiful home built in the 1870's. The home is set on a truly beautiful southern setting with gorgeous 200 year old live oak trees surrounding it. The home is on 8 acres of very secluded property that includes a beautiful Cabana and pier with a gorgeous view. Renovated in 2008, the home retains its antique look and feel. This New Orleans style home has beaded board walls and 12 foot ceilings throughout with an open floor plan.

The Kitchen is quite large with all new appliances and beautiful copper countertops. A large bar is attached to the kitchen island with four bar stools. The dining table is built from southern cypress and measures nearly seven feet in diameter with seating for eight. All dishes, utensils, pots & pans are provided.

The master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two twin beds with an additional trundle if needed. The living room has two very comfortable sofas and a large 56' LCD HD Television. DirecTV programming is available on all TV's in the home. Wireless broadband internet access is also provided.

There are two spacious porches on the front and back of the home as well as a separate concrete patio area canopied by live oak trees with custom made BBQ pit, hammock and swing.

Historic Downtown Hammond has great shopping and a variety of excellent locally owned restaurants. A newly constructed shopping center with major retail stores and movie theater is also located in Hammond, just 10 minutes away. Ponchatoula, LA is Hammond's sister city known for it's antique shops that line the cities downtown area.

The French Quarter is only an hour drive south down scenic Interstate 55. On the way is Middendorf's restaurant... The best seafood platter around!

The home is not in a subdivision which provides guests with a relaxing, private and super quiet getaway that is also close to New Orleans and other interesting south Louisiana locations.

La Petite Maison is also available for Executives and Corporate Rentals. We can arrange for short and long term rentals depending on availability. Snowbirds are welcome, escape the freezing temperatures of the north and enjoy south Louisiana's warmer climate.

Parking is available for multiple vehicles with plenty of other space on the property for RV's and Boat Trailers.

Beautiful and peaceful

Our stay at this private dwelling was not long enough! I needed a place to recoup from a medical procedure and this was just what we needed. Owners were helpful and we enjoyed the time that was spent explaining some history of the area. Beautiful copper counters, giant dining table, comfortable beds, roomy and 2 bathrooms. Thanks for your hospitality and sharing the bounty from your land. Betty Ann

Don't Miss This House!

Don't Miss This House!

My son and I stayed here in April and it was such an enjoyable experience. The house has been beautifully remodeled but still keeps it's 1870 charm. The flow of the house is perfect with a terrific open living room with high ceilings that flows into the kitchen and dining areas. There are big windows throughout so the house has great light. The bedrooms are large and the baths are modern and the whole house was super clean. The setting is fantastic with huge old Great Oaks trees complete with Spanish moss....AND there is a gorgeous pond filled with fish that my son enjoyed catching (and releasing!) while I lounged on the wonderful deck area and read. This is a terrific home in a lovely wooded (and very friendly)neighborhood and we are actually going back for a second visit in June. This is THE house in the area!

Christmas with family!

  • 5 of 5
Stayed 3 weeks over Christmas and New Years and had a wonderful time. From relaxing at the fire pit and BBQing on the brick grill or relaxing at the gazebo by the pond, what a wonderful place. The owners of the property are wonderful people and alway ensured we had what we needed. Would definitely recommend staying here for some down time.

Enchanting!

  • 5 of 5
This was one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed. My husband, son and I shared the experience with another couple and infant son. Between the completely remodeled Acadian style home, the 100 + year old oak trees, spacious pond with gazebo (use of flat boat) all I can say is I am in love. We are already planning a trip for next year. We had a family photo session planned in advance with our family that live in Louisiana, once we saw the property we tried to switch locations with the photographer - it was that beautiful! Maybe next time. A personal thank you to the owners (names excluded on purpose), how accommodating you all were. The fact you invited all of us to your families personal Easter egg hunt, all I can say is WOW!

Le Petit Maison is one in a million.

PERFECT GETAWAY!

  • 5 of 5
We spent Easter weekend doing some family rest and relaxation. This home was truly amazing! It was absolutely perfect for our family of 4. The grounds were exceptional- firepit, gazebo, barbeque patio area, huge oak trees, etc. The pond was fabulous...we spent hours fishing, which our children loved. Our youngest child caught his first bass. It was great! The bed linens were even 5-star quality. The owners catered to everything we asked for and more- local church information, use of their boat...every need was anticipated. (Even soap and laundry detergent was available for our use.) We can't wait to go again.
