Fantastic beach house with only one drawback
We spent three nights in this wonderful place. It is the guest house on a beautiful property with the larger, more luxurious "La Casona." Palm grove is built with beautiful wood and furnished with asian antique style. The owner has an elegant sense of style and the place reflects a sense of love and care. The owner is friendly and attentive. There is also a fantastic yoga platform on the property, just meters from the surf. The owner does yoga classes there and offers them to her guests.
The drawback for us was the kitchen. The vrbo description of the property says it has a "chef's kitchen." It doesn't. The place has a combination of beautiful ceramic serving bowls and plates and very low quality plastic kitchen tools. The stove was barely functional. And the coffee maker took 45 minutes to make coffee and was a low quality appliance. To her credit, the owner kept bringing other coffee makers for us to try, but there is just now way to justify this kitchen as a chef's kitchen. I could go on - no quality knives etc. All that being said, we made it work and enjoyed our time there very much. But if having a good kitchen matters to you, this will be an issue.
Also, the place advertises daily maid service and the maid did not come on Sunday.

Owner's Response: We have spruced up the kitchen so vacationing cooks can indulge without fear. We have a new gas cooktop, a great electric oven big enough for a turkey as well as new coffee maker, blender and dishwasher. Nice new sharp knives too! The Palm Grove is rented all the time so at the end of the season things unfortunately sometimes get a bit tired (us included!) and if the guests don't tell us we don't know that all is not perfect. So we are grateful for the criticism! Pura Vida!
