Bill and Pat Scheuner live in the middle of rural Camino in El Dorado County. They are members of the Apple Hill Growers Association made up of 50 family farms. Since 1978 Grandpa's Cellar has been Pat's main occupation. Bill worked as nursery manager for the U. S. Forest Service. After retiring in 1990 Bill started working full time in the apple business. Son, Bill, Jr. and daughter, Karen grew up helping and are now pursuing their careers out of El Dorado County.
Patricia Scheuner purchased this house in 2005
Tideaway was the dream of John and Marcia Clark back in the 1960’s when they purchased the property. Years were spent coming to the coast to clear the land and planing for their retirement home. In 1972, Frontier Homes was chosen for builder of this old growth redwood home with the modern, classic style fitting the rustic Northern Coast. The home was designed by Marcia to capture the 180 degree panoramic views from the bluff. There is probably no closer dining to the edge of the Pacific Ocean than this vacation rental.
Pat Scheuner, Marcia and John’s niece and husband Bill have been coming to Fort Bragg for over 40 years to help them accomplish their dream. The Scheuner family is now sharing this special property with visitors as a vacation rental. The guests enjoy Marcia’s artwork and artistic touches throughout the home and her gardens with something always blooming.
The Aquatic Center displays a plaque of John and Marcia naming the natatorium after them due to their generous donations. We hope all the visitors to the coast will take advantage of this wonderful indoor water park for the whole family.
Pat and Bill come to the coast from El Dorado County from time to time to “tend to things” as Bill puts it. Our plan is to continue to rent Tideaway to the many people who appreciate the home and property and take care of it as if it were their own. We are very lucky to have such loyal, returning visitors.
Thank you. Bill and Pat
It's all about the view! We find that we can sit for hours and watch the ever changing sea. The location is convenient for walking to the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden and driving a mile to our favorite Harvest market.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful place with us. It is absolutely magical and we enjoyed every minute. We look forward to returning with friends and family in the near future.
