Clean, Cleaner, Cleanest!!

The first thing you'll notice is how CLEAN this home is, and this is from someone who is picky about that! Definitely a home rather than a cottage, there is more than enough space in just about every room. Not that you'll need it, because you'll spend every evening in the lovely screened-in porch. :) Location of home is great in terms of going anywhere within the Leelanau Peninsula. House is at the end of a cove on the lake so the water by the shore quickly gets mucky and deep, but the water levels are lower than normal this year, and the location also means the lot is private and quiet. The lake is clean and the deck ladder allows for easy swimming off the end of the dock. There is every "toy" you could ever want, from the boat/canoe/kayaks to ping-pong/foosball/air hockey. Karen (owner) is great to work with and was always prompt to reply to a phone message or email. My only suggestion would be a room air-conditioner in the main space, as it was 95 when I got there! Fans in every room did help. Overall, it's a lovely vacation rental- and it is obvious that Karen works hard to give her renters a great experience!

The cleanliness the home is very important to us, and we do work hard to ensure our guests have the best vacation experience possible. The lake bottom does tend to get soft approximately 8-10 feet from shore, especially along the dock, but the shoreline is very firm and sandy. We find the shallow water along the shore is perfect for young children as they wade and play in the water. The dock ladder makes it possible to enter and exit the water very safely and easily - swimmers do not have to walk through the soft, loamy bottom to reach the deeper, clear water off the end of the dock. We also enjoy spending time on the 3 season/screened porch - it's a wonderful place to enjoy the lake breezes and the sounds of summer, not to mention the great views!
