Waterfront home on the shores of the famous Ship Canal. Only a few steps to Hiram Chittenden Locks to the East and Discovery Park to the West; two of Seattle's most visited sites.
The home is front row to the Ship Canal. Water traffic includes day trippers, to Alaska fishermen, tugs are a favorite, great blue heron rookery, resident sea lions, fish jumping, beautiful sunsets and ever changing activity on the water make this truly a unique location.
The home is Northwest Contemporary in style. It features a full kitchen, with stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker (this is Seattle, after all) cooking and dining supplies. The kitchen is open to the living room and walls of windows to the views. The living room has cable HDTV, Apple TV, Hulu, HBO and fireplace and walks onto the view deck.
There are three bedrooms, two with big waterfront views, one enjoys a walk in closet and space for a crib if desired.
There is an in unit full sized laundry, and a newly refinished three quarter bath.
The sunny waterfront deck is a nice place to finish the day or take the steps to the waterfront yard to enjoy the nautical parade.
You will be delighted with your stay here. This home is in a very safe, upscale neighborhood. Downtown Seattle and SeaTac airport is an easy, quick drive. This will be the perfect home base for your vacation!

Of the places I have lived, this is by far the most facinating and enjoyable! The waterfront is very active, local sights and great restaurants are within walking distance. A quick drive and you are in the heart of Seattle visiting Pike Place Market. I think you will find this is the perfect location for your Seattle vacation.
Gina purchased this house in 2008
I am no scientist, but I have read that in environments with salt tinged sea air (like this Waterfront) an abundance of negative ions(electrically charged atoms) are found, which increases the brains seratonin levels, thereby giving an overall feeling of wellbeing and energy! That's pretty great.
My family of 5 adults stayed here for 4 nights to do the Seattle-tourist thing. The location is lovely, the pictures on the site accurately depict the home and views. The home is well-maintained. The major Seattle sites are 10 minutes away by car (use your phone GPS if you can). We would stay again anytime.
We had a fabulous girls weekend at this great home. Lovely, well maintained, clean home with fabulous views. We spent houts watching the birds, sea lions and ships go through the locks on the porch. Only issue was the noisy trains that do run all night long, but we would still come back to this great location.
We had a wonderful visit to Seattle, the weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed morning walks to the locks and botanical gardens. The house had everything we needed. We started playing a game, stump the house, but we never could win EVERYTHING was there. It was nice that there were toys, a booster seat and changing table as we were entertaining an 18 month old boy (or he was entertaining us). As mentioned by all the reviewers the views, boats and train watching was a highlight.
The only thing to mention is the stairs, I was with my parents 84 and 82 and they could manage just fine if they were quite careful. Of course once you are inside you do not want to leave. But we did do some local exploring and the little village of Magnolia is charming.
We loved it there and hated to leave. Make sure to visit the Fishermans Terminal (about 1.5 miles away)... We had the freshest, most delicious salmon anyone (including the Seattle residents) had ever tasted. ENJOY
Gina, once again, perfect! Thanks so much.
My wife and I used to live in Bellevue and came back for a wedding. We decided to stay a few extra days as we had never really spent much time around the locks, Ballard, or Lake Union. Once we arrived, we knew we had picked out something special here. The views are amazing and it was so much fun watching the boat traffic, along with the numerous bridge lifts when trains weren't present. We saw a couple seals, lots of snow geese, ducks, and a blue heron.
The kitchen was spacious and has a dining area. The family room was light and bright and featured many windows. The master bedroom has a large closet and very comfy bed. The utility room and bathroom were adjacent. We would highly recommend this home as a base and plan on staying here again in the future.
The view is as good as the pictures and the location just minutes from the Ballard docs makes going to Ballard a short walk. We walked to Discovery Park nearby. The home is well supplied with kitchen items, and the host provided a good binder with local information. The trains were both interesting to see pass by, but a little loud. We found that we got used to them passing by over the draw bridge. I would certainly stay there again.
Waterfront sightseeing on the Ship Canal, the 'Most Active Waterway in North America'. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, connecting the salt water inland sea of Puget Sound to the fresh water body of Lake Washington. Boat traffic is common, from personal watercraft to yachts, tugs and even fishing vessels now famous in 'Deadliest Catch'. All passing through Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and park, which is a short walk away.
Discovery Park is a 15 min. walk west of this home. It is a 534 acre park containing 11.81 miles of walking trails. The Park contains Fort Lawton Historic District, United Indians Daybreak Star Cultural Center and the West Point Lighthouse at the West Waterfront.

This is a wonderful location to enjoy, however if you want to host an 'event' or gathering of more than 10 people please choose another location. Parties will not be tolerated.
Honesty goes a long way when renting here. Please be straightforward about who will be staying.
If you choose to let your children run wild, please stay elsewhere. This is a nice home & yard in an upper end neighborhood.
