House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Rockaway Beach is one of the most exclusive locations on Bainbridge Island. Known for its amazing water front views of the “Emerald City.” This custom built, adult oriented home has more than 5,000 square feet for you to enjoy. The large open floor plan was custom built to maximize the water and city views. Observe whales, seals, sea otters, bald eagles, geese, deer and many other birds and animals on a daily bases. Explore the beach and tide pools to see firsthand why Jacques Cousteau called the Puget Sound the most marine rich body of water in the world. Fish for Coho salmon, Chinook salmon, Sockeye salmon and Dungeness crab from the beach (when in season of course). We also added six commercial oyster cages that contain more than 20,000 Kumo and Pacific oysters. And if all that sounds like too much work then, you can just relax on the deck and take in the view.

Bainbridge Island

A scenic 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle, Bainbridge Island has rustic charm with quiet country roads and lovely gardens making this a favorite destination. Known for its arts community, Bainbridge has its own Performing Arts Center and Arts & Crafts Gallery featuring regional artists. Enjoy shopping in historic Winslow with its trendy cafes and one of a kind island shops where you can find unusual gifts from the Northwest and beyond. Outdoor enthusiast will enjoy a walk through the Bloedel Reserve, and nature lover's paradise. Other fun outdoor activities include hiking, biking, equestrian trails, golf and tennis. From Bainbridge Island you can cross the Agate Pass Bridge to the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula.

Rockaway Beach

Getting to Rockaway Beach is half the fun. About half way across the Sound, the ferry will turn towards Eagle Harbor. Look for the home with the white fence five houses down from the left. This is where you will be staying. At the end of the scenic drive around Eagle Harbor the road becomes Rockaway Beach the Emerald City will take your breath away. Fight the urge to stop because this is the view waiting for you at The Beach House. As you drive down the tree lined street of Rockaway Beach you will discover why the street is so well known on Bainbridge Island. Drive slowly, look at the amazing properties on the street and keep an eye out for the local residence like deer, raccoons, fox and humans. You are almost home.

The Beach House

When entering the front door, the Seattle skyline sets the tone for this home. Every window, door and mirror is oriented to maximize this unique location. Watch the city change throughout the day. From the morning sun rises to the fiery reflections of the sunsets. The views are constantly changing and there is always something new and different to observe during the day and night. No expense was spared to ensure your comfort inside this home. Professionally decorated, gourmet appointed kitchen, master bath with Jacuzzi and lush 500 tread count linens are just a few features that will make your stay feel like that of a world case spa. There is also a finished basement with pool table/ping pong table TV and entertainment.

About The Owner

Of course the views are amazing. However, my favorite thing about this property is the incredible amount of life that surrounds this home. At low tide there are the most beautiful oysters we raise that have the freshest flavor you will ever taste. You can also catch more crab than you could ever hope to eat. I catch salmon and trout from the shore just steps from the back door. Rockaway Beach is also located on the best kayaking and scuba diving in the Puget Sound. I have also spent many mornings on the deck have coffee and watching the bald eagles hunt, the otters play and watch the deer feeding in the garden. All who have stayed in this home understand what makes this property a magical experience that will renew your soul.

What makes this house unique

The shellfish garden is amazing. We hope that our shellfish will be on the menus of three local restaurants by the spring of 2013. Commercial license is pending. However, we have one special cage always full for our guests.

The Beach House on Rock Away Beach is absolutely awesome! The view of the Seattle sky line was like a picture each evening. We purposfully stepped inside without turning the lights on when we arrived (7:30pm) to enjoy the view of the city from the large windows. We appreciated the spacious living area; espcially the living room with the gas logs, the dining room table, and kitchen areas. The open concept was perfect because it allowed us to do several things at once, and still be together. Grilling dinner on the patio while sipping wine during sunset, was as perfect as sharing coffee every morning there. Each time we watched the ferry and kayaks float by on the sound----so peaceful. The master bedroom and bath were unbelievalbe with very nice plush towels and all the necessary bathroom items. And the entire house was immaculate! Its hard to discribe what a pleasure it is when the place your rent far exceeds your expectations. An in-person visit to this house is much better than seeing it from the website photos! Finally, what a pleasure speaking with the owner and following his recommendations of things to do and places to eat. His suggestions both in conversation and from the "house book" made our trip the best ever! Thank you for sharing your hospitality and your home with us. We hope to return in the near furture for a week;s stay.

My stay was nothing short of amazing! The ever changing view of the city at night, WOW! Breath taking! Now I know why it's called "the Emerald city". I found the energy and atmosphere in the home to be warm and delightful. I felt ,"at home" and some what spoiled. This house is immaculate inside and out. Verry well loved. I can't wait to recommend it to my friends. It is wonderful

I knew from the reviews that the views would be incredible. Every minute of every day was changing and unbelievable. The fall colors were so bright and we sounded like a broken record every day. Wow, wow and more wow. The sea otters were amazing and the bald eagles were unlike anything we have ever seen. To see deer feeding in the yard was also unbelievable. Your home is perfect and warm. Thank you for an experience of a life time. We will be back soon.

The stay at your beach house was more than we could have imagined. Everything was perfectly clean, warm and cozy. You made us feel welcomed into your home and were just a phone call away if we needed anything. Although the house was great I think we loved the views and beach combing the best. You have picked a perfect location for relaxation & rejuvination and have made your home into a warm & welcoming oasis. Thank you so much for opening your doors for us & others to enjoy. We will surely have to return in the summer.

Had a wonderful time at your place. Our two families, four adults and four girls, had plenty of space to stretch out relax while taking in the view. The weather was great. Enjoyed walking downtown, eating at local restaurants and geo caching in the Grand Forrest. We all loved beach combing and turning over rocks looking for crabs, sea stars and sea cucumbers.

Lucky enough to see some deer, bald eagles, otter and submarine all from the back deck. Grilled shell fish and seafood almost every day, finished off the evening with a nice walk on Rockaway Beach Drive.

All were disappointed when it was time to leave. Save the same week for us, we are coming back next year!!!
