Here's a photo of me and Rosie ODonnel, which tells you a bit about my love of laughter. I live in Chicago with my darling familly, but cherish my time in Santa Fe with all of me friends, including my neighbor Rebecca who owns the front unit. Together we have a shared Santa Fe experience and offer both units together if you need more bedrooms.
Ruth Roseberg-Evans (owner) purchased this condo in 2009
Love the location, quality of construction, private gated feel, yet such a big home! But most of all, having a home next to one of my best friends.
It was a perfect place for all of us women to be together. Very spacious, clean and well stocked. The only thing we would have liked was an iron and ironing board. Our clothes could have used a pressing each day but being a little wrinkled did not stop us.
The location was very convenient for the Saturday morning Farmer's Market, the train station, galleries, the bike path and the free Shuttle.
Thank you very much for your help with our arrangements, answering our questions and following-up after our arrival. All are very much appreciated.
We called late on a Sunday night wanting to drive to Santa Fe early Monday morning, Ruth, Jody and Josie were all so accommodating and easy to work with. The condo was in perfect condition, they offered great suggestions, and we even ended up staying an extra day because we had so much fun. We had two families and even though we put all the kids in one room, it never really seemed like it was too small. There is plenty of living space and the kitchen table fit everyone perfectly. There are 3 decks and we were able to spread out and enjoy the time. The condo is beautifully decorated, everything is modern and clean, the beds are comfortable and they even brought in a rollaway bed for the extra kiddo.
It is quite a distance from the plaza, about 25 min walking each way, but since it was low season we were able to drive everywhere. We were walking distance from the railyard, but that was not hopping in March, mid-week. We didn't have any problems driving everywhere and we were glad we had 2 parking spaces. Beware that the spaces are small (very typical for Santa Fe...seems like all the car spaces are small). So if you have a large SUV, you may have to plan ahead to find an area big enough to park. We didn't have any trouble, but it was a slow time of year too. I HIGHLY recommend this condo.
One last note, the condo is on a fairly busy road, but because of the high brick fence, it didn't interfere with our outdoor patio time. I didn't have any trouble sleeping, but the road noise did bother my husband. He used ear plugs and never had any trouble. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. You can't really hear anything from the first floor due to the fence, but the second floor is a little louder. Nothing too bad unless an ambulance goes by.
Casa Juanita is a MUST stay vacation home.
I just spent five days, four nights of absolute bliss there.
Everything you need is within fifteen minutes from the front door. Whether you are walking, riding, hiking, shopping, eating, or having a spa day Casa Juanita is where you want to be.
Saint Francis Street which has lots of traffic runs behind this beautiful property, however, takes nothing away from being able to relax & enjoy this beautifully decorated property. The beds are soooooo comfortable & each night you are there you wake up refreshed and ready to begin another fun filled day.
I don't have enough space to keep ranting about what a great stay we had!
I have spent a weekend in Casa Juanita in January with my friends. The house is absolutely gorgeous - expect more than you see on the pictures. it's very warm and cozy, felt like a real home for our weekend. The beds are very comfortable and big, as well as the bathrooms. Everything was very neat and tidy, and the owner thought of leaving there brochures and recent guides for Santa Fe, as well as a morning tea and coffee that saved our lives on the first morning (thank you so much Ruthi!!!). It is very well situated, so even if you don't have a car, you can take a nice walk to the city in less than 15 minutes. I did it and highly recommend - you can see very beautiful houses along the way, none of them as pretty as Casa Juanita though ;)
This is the first time I have dealt with a vacation rental. I had heard that sometimes the property is not what was advertised. What an amazing place this is! All that the pictures show, and more. I was traveling with five of my friends, and how nice to be in someone's home instead of a hotel room. We were very comfortable and really appreciated all the little extras. I would love to visit Casa Juanita again, and would highly recommend it. Ruth (the owner) and Jody (the manager) were so helpful and accommodating. Thanks for making our stay so special!
I am only giving this review because the owner requested it... I would prefer to keep this jewel to myself so that it will be available whenever I want it! That being said, I will be gracious and give this property the fine review it deserves. We were a group of 5 "old" friends who try to meet at least yearly in Santa fe and it was just perfect. Very spacious, beautifully decorated, comfortable , clean, and well appointed/stocked. We enjoyed the outdoor areas greatly as well. The only ?negative comment that I would have is that the back of the property is on a semi busy street so you can hear the traffic noise when outdoors...especially on the upstairs patio... But it was not excessive and didn't bother us at all .. We spent plenty of time on both lovely patios ! No traffic noise indoors , by the way..
There are plenty of comfortable sleeping spaces .. The pics are very accurate. This will be my preferred place to stay in Santa fe for group trips from now on..I have been a very frequent visitor to this town for over 20 years & have stayed in many places - this is one of my very favorites!
We felt right at home at this lovely condo. Everything we needed was at our disposal. Great care was put into decorating the home and thought was put into what a visitor might need. If a group of people were staying here, there were many places to escape for privacy in the two decks top and bottom and the small, cozy space out the kitchen door. Comfort, convenience, and care! Thank you!
