Gatlinburg Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Good Time Getaway

Relax.....take a deep breath.....you're at the cabin now. Life is good at the cabin!

Nestled among the mountains and trees is Good Time Getaway, a lovely all wood log cabin overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Upon arriving at the cabin, you will step up onto the covered front porch. The Amish made rocking chairs, bench, and swing beckon you to sit and stay a while. As you enter the cabin, the woody scent of the knotty pine, the cavernous heights of the cathedral ceiling, and the views from the wall of windows welcome you to your Smoky Mountain retreat.

Delight in the comfort and coziness of the family room; with it's leather seating, lovely fireplace, and charming mountain decor. The cooks among you will enjoy our well equipped kitchen which is open to the family room. The dining table is large and seats 6 to 8 people.

Prefer to eat outside? The natural gas BBQ pit makes grilling a pleasure. The patio furniture provides for relaxed outdoor dining as well. As an added bonus you can unwind in the large steaming hot tub, ready for you any time of the year.

The Master King Loft perches you in a haven above it all. The two Queen Bedrooms on the main floor provide lovely private sanctuaries. Both baths have luxurious jetted tubs to help soak your cares away.

Tom and Donna Notaro live in Pensacola, Florida. We've always loved the Smokies. As avid auto enthusiasts, we visit the Gatlinburg area several times a year attending car shows, cruise-ins, and events. Renting our vacation home has been a fantastic experience—largely because we get to share our love of the area and our beautiful cabin with our guests.

Tom and Donna purchased this cabin in 2010

We love this location! We enjoy the abundance of wildlife that travels through the resort. All the cabins in Mountain Shadows were built on angles, so once inside you have a sense of privacy and seclusion. We have beautiful views of the mountains, but we can also listen to the breeze as it passes through the trees.

Good Time Getaway is a lovely all-wood log cabin with beautiful views and total stress-free relaxation! The knotty pine logs, soaring cathedral ceiling, and charming Tennessee mountain decor really puts you in tune with nature and the Smoky Mountains. Ease, convenience, beauty and relaxation. Good Time Getaway has it all.

From the cabin you can see the peaks of both Mt. LeConte (ele. 6592) to the south and Mt. Guyot (ele. 6621) to the southeast.

There is something here for everyone! Shopping and antiques, dinner theatres and fine dining, awesome hiking trails, horseback riding, whitewater rafting and ziplines, helicopter rides and amusement parks, scenic drives, wildlife viewing, bicycling, fishing, ,..And we are withing walking distance to the trolly!

The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is the #1 visited national park in the U.S.

My boyfriend and I wanted to have a unique spring break and go somewhere different. We had been wanting to travel to the Smoky Mountains for a while now and found this cabin online. When we saw it in person it was exactly like the pictures! The view from the upstairs bedroom is amazing! It is just close enough to the park, shops, and resturants to be convienent, but you still feel secluded when you're back at the cabin. Tom and Donna were great!!

Good Time Getaway Cabin

Our overall impression of the Good Time Getaway Cabin is very positive. We spent time with our family and met our 4 month old granddaughter for the first time (lives in Honolulu)! I'm a little familiar with the area and wanted off the main strip of US441 and low enough to not be concerned about a heavy snow since family traveled a long distance to spend time together. It was a cold week with snow, temperatures at or below zero, so the weather added to the wintery feeling of cabin life. The cabin is stocked with all the creature comforts and daily use items most people will need. The cabin is less than two miles from the only grocery store (Food City) near Gatlinburg. A McDonalds, Subway, Pizza, and other local restaurants are close as well. The main strip of Gatlinburg is 10 minutes or less away, and most often, not being in the middle of the madness is a comfortable feeling. So, overall, a nice cabin conveinently located to everything, yet far enough away to enjoy the mountain atmosphere.

Great Cabin and Great Place to Visit!

We had a wonderful winter vacation in Gatlinburg. The cabin was great! It was exactly as listed. The location was perfect, just as described. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the BBQ grill.

The Christmas lights all through the town were beautiful. We enjoyed driving through the National Park and hiking on trails we came across. I bought my wife some rose pedal jewelry in the Arts & Crafts Community.

After looking at a bunch of cabins, I was a little overwhelmed. Then I came across Good Time Getaway. Donna was a big help. She told me about the cabin, the area, and gave me suggestions where to go and what to do. She was absolutely right about the best restaurant, Crystal Creek.

This trip was a surprise gift to my wife for our 10th anniversary. Well, she was more than surprised! She was ecstatic! It's going to be hard to top this one.

I would definitely recommend Good Time Getaway! We are planning to return in the summer! Great cabin and great place to visit!
Owner's Response: Thank you for choosing our cabin for your 10th Anniversary! It was my pleasure to talk to you about the cabin and the Gatlinburg area. I'm glad that your wife enjoyed her gifts - the cabin, rose jewelry, and Crystal Creek Restaurant. The Gatlinburg area is beautiful and uniquely different in each season of the year. Looking forward to hearing from you soon about booking your summer vacation!

Our stay in the most lovely cabin in Gatlinburg

We traveled to the Great Smoky Mountains in late October to celebrate Halloween and to see the fall foliage. Upon arrival, we were totally overwhelmed when we parked in front of our cabin. This cabin was the cutest place and looked like it could have been featured on the front of a storybook. We first noticed the large front porch accented with the rustic furniture and the coolest swing.

When we put our personal code in the front door to gain entrance and walked in it was obvious we would be spending the next few days in total comfort. The cabin featured a very tastefully decorated open living room area adjoined with the most modern kitchen and a huge table. The downstairs bedrooms were decorated in perfect design with the rest of the cabin and the upstairs master bedroom was fantastic. The large outside deck with Jacuzzi and grill easily accommodated all of our party very comfortably.

The Gatlinburg experience was one of our most exciting and colorful vacations ever, the fall leaves were spectacular! The area attractions were moderately priced and the restaurants were outstanding. The mountains, with the many forms of wildlife in the area, were an experience that will never be forgotten. From the cutest little chipmunks, to the bears, elk and wild turkeys, your family will have the greatest fun as you explore the forests. Halloween in downtown Gatlinburg is definitely something your family will remember forever and should be on your vacation list. The entire town lights up with every imaginable type of ghost and goblin, with both children and adults donning their best costumes. There are all types of entertainment downtown and most businesses are handing out treats to the little ones.

Our total experience at this cabin was very positive and we rate our stay there a definite Five Star. We highly recommend this cabin for your next stay in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Owner's Response: What a beautifully written description of our cabin! You seemed to have captured exactly how I feel when I go to the cabin. It is definitely an experience to see the fall foliage. It sounds like you saw quite a bit of wildlife as well, animal as well as the human kind (Halloween in Gatlinburg)! Thank you for the recommendation and for giving us such a wonderful review!
