Townhome, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed, 3 Baths (Sleeps 10-12)

The Star-thrower has stunning views of dunes and sea as far as the eye can see from upper and lower decks. Comfortably furnished throughout. Ample seating, kitchen appliances, cooking utensils and dinnerware compliment dining tables seating twelve. Bar stools are at the kitchen counter. Enjoy original artwork and a small library of books, a card table for a bridge game or jigsaw puzzles. Many fun points of interest nearby include putt putt golf to 30 championship golf courses on the mainland, the exciting and instructive Ingram planetarium and gift shop; day fishing trips from Calabash; or a walk along the beach to Bird Island. Ample shopping opportunities at major food chains. consignment shops, thrift shores, dollar store and others. Restaurants cater to every taste including Mexican, Italian, Chinese, and Seafood is in abundance.

The second floor of the Star-Thrower has three bedrooms, two baths, and a laundry alcove. The master bedroom has a queen bed, private bath, TV/DVD, small library and an ocean-viewing deck. The second bedroom has a queen bed; the third bedroom has a queen bed and a double bed. The last two share a bathroom. All rooms have ceiling fans. The fourth bedroom is on the first level.

Both sides of the Star-Thrower (Side A East and Side B West) are mirror images with the following exception. The fourth bedroom on Side A has a queen bed. Side B has two twin beds. Both sides have a sleep sofa in the living room.

A lockable, interior door connects both sides and is used when large families or groups of friends rent both. A floor plan is available for planning purposes.

Sunset Beach is the most southerly, barrier island in North Carolina. It is a nature preserve in itself with deer, goats, fox, sea turtles and beautiful marshes.

Located at the west end of Sunset Beach is Bird Island where wildlife thrives, some of which are endangered and threatened.

Historic Southport offers art galleries, marinas, excellent restaurants and antique shopping. Enjoy a stroll across the river front or a ferry ride to Bald Head Island.

Wilmington is home for the World War II battleship U.S. North Carolina with its museum and nine decks.

    Rates above are for weekly Saturday to Saturday stays. Taxes are not included.

    An advanced deposit of 50% of the total rent is due 30 days after booking. Final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.
    Reservations made less than 30 days prior to arrival require immediate, full payment.
  • A Security deposit of $200.00 and a signed Rental Agreement must be received before a booking is finalized. This deposit is fully refunded within 14 days after departure provided no damage is incurred to the house or its furnishings beyond normal wear and tear. Tentative bookings not confirmed by receipt of this deposit will be automatically canceled.

    Check-in begins at 4:00 P.M. and Check-out no later than 10:00 A.M. (We must have time to clean and inspect for arriving guests).

    Weekly rates include linens and departure housekeeping. All beds will be made-up upon your arrival with towel and washcloth sets for each person.

Beautiful views of ocean, sunset, and sunrise from large decks and balcony. Great home, clean, large and spacious. All appliances working and up to date. We had a great time on the beach. Easy access to beach, stores, bike rentals and pier. Owners are very accommodating and available. WIFI was a great bonus for the kids. I am looking forward to visiting again.

Family Fun and relaxation.

We had the pleasure of staying at this wonder beach front home for 2 weeks. The house had a warm and peaceful feeling and spectacular views from both porches from the family room and master bedroom. The short board walk to the beach made it easy to come and go to the beach as you pleased and, of course the beach and ocean were just wonderful. We hiked the beach and swam in the ocean every day. Evening walks on pier was a great place to see the sunset sky. The beaches were filled with family's that all seemed to be enjoying the experience. With the grocery store only a short trip across the bridge, and a nicely equipped kitchen, we cooked several nites and ate on our porch as well as enjoyed some of great dining and shopping in the local towns. The place was great and I look forward to returning to Star-Thrower in near future. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

Great oceanfront location within walking distance of Sunset Beach shops. Well-appointed, comfortable, very clean home with everything needed for a relaxing family vacation and beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean from the back decks. Sea Trail, North Myrtle Beach, and Calabash are very accessible (5-20 min.) to the island if you want to go out to dinner or play golf, or you can stay on Sunset Beach and enjoy the natural beauty of this island via walking or bicycles. We appreciate the conservation efforts by Sunset Beach homeowners to preserve the bird sanctuary on the west end of the island. The owners of this home are accommodating and helpful. We would certainly stay in this home again in the future, given the opportunity.
