Peace and tranquility. Sitting on the deck with a drink and a cigar gazing at BILLIONS of stars thrown across the sky. Breezes whispering through the pines as though singing to the rising moon. The shrill whistle of an elk bugle echoing down the meadow. In the early morning and early evening the elk "play through" on the golf course that is a 10 minute walk from the house. Walking the greenbelt and finding elk, bear, and deer footprints. It's just time standing still away from the grind.
As far from the DFW Metroplex as you need to be with all the amenities of being home. The village of Angel Fire is just 5 minutes away with ski lifts, shops, grocery, and restaurants. The airport has an 8000 foot runway and can take jet aircraft.
It is a 10 minute drive to a Vietnam Memorial State Park that is well worth the visit. A 15 minute drive to cafes in Eagles Nest. A scenic 45 minute drive to Taos with all sorts of shops, galleries, and restaurants. It is a 40 minute drive to Red River that is about 1,500 feet higher into the mountains.
This is the second year we rented here. Last year was great but this year with the completed master bath, front porch, and carport was even better. There were 6 adults and this house has enough room for us not to be crowding each other. The kitchen is fun and easy to work in with everything you need provided. The grill on the deck is really easy to use with enough grill space to cook a feast.
The open common area is big enough for everyone to sit in different areas and not compete in conversations. The only thing that would have made it better over last year was if the Rangers had been in the playoffs again.
We have already requested a reservation for next year and are anticipating another fantastic stay.

Owner's Response: Charlie - Mi Casa - Su Casa - look forward to your return and it thrills me when someone can appreciate "all" the little and big things about Angel Fire, especially our home. We love that place so much that we are constantly trying to find ways to make it better. Next summer we will make the back deck a thing of beauty as well - and - we actually look forward to the task! Thank you for the review. Linda
