Not as expected.
Well let me start by saying the pictures are very deceiving. Walking into the apartment building, 2 guys sitting behind glass windows, then security guard escorts us down a long dingy hallway and rings a bell on a door. Being a mom with my 2 teenage girls had a lot of red flags going off. First red flag, paying 1/2 of deposit it cash, just received email; from Homeaway that this is a security issue. Well anyway back to room, and let me say ROOM, is a box. Yes it is functional, clean to an extent, shower head needs cleaning, mildew in shower, finger prints all over white paint, walls need a serious scrubbing. We left the lights on at night was so afraid things would be crawling. Checked for bed bugs but none found, thank goodness. Two types of curtains, dirty, dusty, ripped. Window air conditioning with gap to outside. Floors not at all shiney like the pictures, need cleaning too.Chain on door broke, so we put large vase for safety in front of door. Yes the location is perfect, but we visit the city at least 4 or more times a year and always stay in hotels, decided to try this. Have used Homeaway/ VRBO outside the US, but never here. I don't think I would try again.

OK, sorry if you felt that way.
This apartment building is NY Landmark building, which means NY State is responsible for this building. Hallway you walked through is not my property, so i have no comment for that.
About the studio, maybe cleaner didn't do the job properly. You should have told us when you checked in, if you didn't like the room. It could been an easy fix.
Simply we could just change your room, but you didn't say anything,
I don't know what was your expectation.
When i have customer don't like that property they reserve, and if we have other property available. We simply switch it for them.
Cause of your review, i feel really frustrate. I always trying to make my customers satisfy while they are staying my property. That is the reason that i open managing office 7day a week.
