Overview

Wears Valley Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Secluded cabin yet near everything! Cabin situated on 5 acres on Little Roundtop Way. 10 to 30 minutes to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville, DollyWood, and Townsend entry to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Cades Cove. Cabin was listed past several years on luxury cabin site by rental company. Rented very well but was poorly treated by some guests. This is our home away from home we simply ask you treat it with respect.

Real log cabin; no fake logs here! If you choose to hang out for a day plenty of room to roam with short walking trails. Large kitchen, dining area and laundry room make it easy to 'stay home'. Can stock up on supplies in Wears Valley or Townsend 5 to 8 minutes away or travel 15-20 minutes to more elaborate shopping in Pigeon Forge.

If you like a 'busy' vacation every day filled with different attractions or if you prefer to 'chill out' and relax in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains this is your place.

2 bedrooms on main floor; 3rd bedroom in loft area with lots of space and it's own bathroom and a 4th bedroom downstairs off the game room. Satellite TV on main floor in great room and one bedroom and in downstairs game room and loft bedroom. Hot tub on gorgeous deck off main floor.

**Update Fall 2014 - new downstairs outside access doors. New seating for firepit. (And cabin is now completely batproof!)

Keywords: Wears Valley Cabin on 5 private acres, less than 10 minutes from Smoky Mountain National Park Townsend entry to Cades Cove; 20 minutes to Pigeon Forge, 25 minutes Gatlinburg, 25 minutes to Sevierville; within 30 minutes of most major attractions in Great Smoky Mountains! Cabin is 3,000 square feet no cramped accomodations!

About Tina

My wife and I are small business owners. We are involved in a financial planning business, rental property and even a sewing/monogramming business. We are both CPA's and I also am a CFP. We have four children ages 7 to 15. Life revolves around family for us. Our children are home schooled, we enjoy outdoor activities, sports and are active in our church. Primary hobbies are hunting, fishing, sewing and watching football.

Tina purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Tina chose Wears Valley

Our family has vacationed in this area for over 20 years and extensively for the past 5 years. Our children love the area and the attractions. We frequent Cades Cove, DollyWood, Sevierville Knife Works, just to mention a few. However, we also enjoy the privacy and seclusion of the property. We love staying 'at home' playing ping pong, pool and just enjoying outdoors in this beautiful area. My wife and I began visiting in the Wears Valley region in the early 80's and discussed buying property for years. We finally took the plunge in 2008 and purchased our own property after years of renting other cabins. We vacation at least one full week here every year.

What makes this cabin unique

Location is a major benefit. You can reach most major attractions in the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Wears Valley area in less than 30 minutes depending on traffic. You are close enough to be convenient but also enjoy privacy from traffic and other distractions. We love to visit in the 'off season' between November and January. The whole area is decorated for Christmas. There are fewer people, great shopping, and attractions are not as crowded. An added bonus is occassional snow makes the entire area look like a giant postcard. We are from further south so this is a real treat. However, summer is also great with many water park attractions. Sevierville has an indoor water park so you can have fun in the water with snow on the ground outside. This cabin is large. Often living areas are small even though a cabin may sleep 8 to 10. Our cabin has larger bedrooms and living areas and is about 3,000 square feet versus 1,300 to 1,500 square feet often found in other cabins that sleep 8 to 10 people.

Wonderful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

If you want to stay in a Peaceful and Beautiful place then look no further than this cabin, it was wonderful inside and out, my youngest son loved the loft I shared with him the closet that had one door in and you can come out the other was his secret place he also loved the large tub. My Father loved the hot tub every morning and sitting out on the deck, the cabin is so nice I love all the furniture and all of us loved the game room downstairs. Outside had wonderful views and we loved exploring the property hiking around, when we come back to Tennessee this is the cabin we will be staying in. Thank You so much for letting us stay in your cabin.

Memorable Easter Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in this VERY spacious cabin. If you are looking for some exclusion, a good view of the GSM, campfire time, and accommodating owners; this is your place! The porch is huge and is excellent for an evening cook-out to watch the sunset. We also had some little ones with us and the place was mostly kid friendly. They enjoyed their Easter egg hunt to say the least. I doubt we will stay anywhere else when we head to Good 'Ole Rocky Top.

Good Place!

  • 4 of 5

Let me preface this by saying that we waited until the last minute to book a cabin- during spring break. I think we were very lucky to find this one!

It looks further out on the map than it really is. While you travel back and forth, you glance at beautiful green fields, mountains, and a fairly quiet road.

The cabin itself is very spacious. There are large beds, 4 bedrooms, plenty of space for a family of 5. There is a large dining room, loft, and two bathrooms. The basement is quite large as well, holding a room just for ping pong, and a pool table in another plus a bedroom.

There are three tvs in the house. They pick up many satellite channels. The appliances are a little older, but work well.

Outside there are some trails around the cabin, which we tried, and a large firepit. The view in the spring on the large deck with hot tub is great. The beds are exceedingly comfortable.

The reason this cabin is 4 star instead of five is the almost strange lack of basic amenities, and the wifi. Now, some don't care when they're in the mountains- but I run an online business so wifi is somewhat important. It's pretty choppy. A different router might do the trick. Also, you won't find any sugar, salt, etc, in the kitchen. There might be reasons for this. There are two charcoal grills outside, but no charcoal. We left half a bag. Also, there is a firepit but no wood(it was raining anyways, so we couldn't). Basically, bring everything you need.

Overall, great cabin, great location, and friendly owners. Recommended. Hard to believe the negative review below, but being in customer service teaches you that those people just exist- justified or not.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. I did want to clarify on the wifi that the router is new and was working great until very recently. Am working to identify issue and correct.

Enjoyed My Stay

  • 4 of 5

Campfire lodge met all my expectations. This is a huge cabin with plenty of room. We loved being able to sit in the living room and still enjoy the view. The cabin is so convenient to all the things we wanted to see and do. We had fun playing ping pong and sitting on the porch. The Internet is hit or miss, but the owners tell you that upfront.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review! Just to clarify, internet and wifi should not be hit or miss and normally works fine. We replaced the router in December and had great access. There apparently is a very recent issue that we are working to identify and correct. What we state upfront is that internet service available in the mountains has a data limit and although generous, does not allow for unlimited streaming of HD video or similar heavy usage without risking using up all the monthly allowance. Regular working on internet, surfing, email or normal use is fine and will eat through the data allowance. Continuous streaming of HD video will.

Thoroughly enjoyed this cabin. Great location but still convenient to grocery, gas and, of course, the GSM. Excellent sunset view from large patio deck.

Great cabin, Excellent location!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this cabin for Valentine's day weekend with our two young children, 3 and 5 years old. With only four of us, we had LOTS of room to relax and play. The porch is huge and offers a great view of the mountains. The hot tub was awesome and the kids really enjoyed the game room and the fire pit. If you're looking for peace and quiet then this is the place for you. You really feel like you're in the wilderness in this cabin, yet it's less than 30 minutes from Gatlinburg and also Cade's Cove, which is a must see for everyone! The huge gas fireplace was definitely a plus since temps got down into the single digits at night. The only downfall, if I had to pick one, was the heat in the downstairs game room. There is only one fireplace down there and it takes a little bit to heat up the humongous room. We would turn it on about 30 minutes before going down there to let it start getting warm and that seemed to work okay, but keep in mind that it never got above freezing that day also. Overall though, this is a big and awesome cabin that our family really enjoyed and would recommend for others! The owner was extremely nice and very easy to talk to also, which was a big help. Thanks again, we had a great time and the kids are already asking when we can go back to the "mountain house!"
