Built in 1938, the Cottage is one of a dwindling number of charming, vintage Lake Arrowhead cabins which are difficult to find. The Cottage contains gorgeous knotty pine paneling throughout, hardwood floors with beautiful oriental rugs and soaring vaulted ceilings. Easy proximity to the main highway, flat lots and a 'small town' feel all make this part of the Lake Arrowhead area unique; and access to the lake is only a few short blocks away. You can also access all of the Lake Arrowhead trails and guest passes are waiting for you at the Cottage. Although this charmer has been preserved to showcase its original features, it also contains all of the modern creature comforts, including a 42'' plasma TV with high definition satellite service, high speed DSL internet service with a wireless network throughout the property and central forced air heating.
In summer, enjoy the huge back deck designed by an architect to blend in with the feel of the property, including teak furniture, built-in seating and soaring cedar and pine trees. In winter, build a roaring fire in the living room and watch the snow fall outside (we supply firewood for your use). You'll also appreciate other small touches to add to your comfort, including Ralph Lauren linens and a fully equipped kitchen.
The Cottage is best suited for a couple or small family who want to enjoy the mountains from the perspective of a historic cottage. It is not designed for large parties, groups or several families who are looking for a large space with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. The neighborhood is quaint and very quiet; an ideal get-away for those looking to enjoy the peace and serenity of the mountains.
Not sure what to do once you arrive? Don't worry; we have put together a detailed book which contains everything from our favorite local restaurants to various local activities, including a great picnic spot on the lake known only to locals (within walking distance from the Cottage), maps to trails and a number of other recreation options. You'll also be able to learn a brief history of the local area.

This cottage was cozy and warm. Felt just like home. Thanks greg for the great experience with your cabin. Fyi, my kids and I enjoyed your LP collectiin....it was awesome! We will defiantly consider going back.
In short I agree with the previous reviewers as this is a great little getaway cabin. It strikes a good balance between the charm of an older home with modern updates to make the stay easy and relaxing. Greg is very good with responding to emails and answering all of your questions. I would definitely consider coming back!
Upon receiving news of the San Diego fires, my boyfriend and I decided to cancel our trip to SD and look into Lake Arrowhead instead. We luckily came across Greg’s vintage charmer and crossed our fingers that it would be available for the weekend. After contacting Greg the night before our scheduled trip we anxiously waited to see if the cabin was free. Sure enough Greg sent an email the morning of our departure and expressed that fortunately the cabin was free and that he would be able to accommodate us last minute. Greg made the process entirely easy from processing payment to getting all directions and details to us within hours, he even planted fresh flowers for us on the deck prior to our arrival. My birthday getaway was well on it’s way, Greg even gave us suggestions on a restaurants around the area and activities that would be nice to do. Once we arrived at the cabin, which was pretty late at night we opened the front door and were thoroughly impressed with the vintage feel of the cabin. The cabin was tastefully decorated and had all the amenities one could ask for in order to make our trip delightful. We loved the big 42” plasma and surround sound. Greg put together a very detailed book explaining how to use the remote control as well as the portable dishwasher which we opted to use the dish-master instead. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom which had an amazingly comfortable bed that we thoroughly enjoyed and got some rest. The two neat bedrooms upstairs reminded us of a tree house, along with the well preserved knotty pine throughout. We enjoyed breakfast and made tasty waffles with the waffle maker at the cabin and sat outside on the beautifully built, spacious deck. The deck was our highlight as we thoroughly enjoyed sitting and reading with nature surrounding us. There is WIFI at the cabin if you need to stay connected, but we were pretty much off grid since we had no reception up there and it was nice! We also hiked down to the lake per Greg’s instructions and around the lake into the village. It was a quick hike so no car is needed to get down there. The shower was nice and there were little bottles of shampoo and soap just like a hotel for your stay, thank goodness because I forgot my body wash so that was very nice to have. The cabin is truly comfortable and yet modern that you can thoroughly enjoy your time up in the quaint neighborhood. We thank Greg for sharing your beautiful vintage charmer, we will be back!
My husband and I, along with our one-year-old, just returned from a fabulous weekend trip to this truly charming cabin. I wanted a cabin that actually felt like a cabin, but had modern luxuries, and this was it! I have rented houses before and this was the easiest experience I’ve had. Greg was super responsive and had everything in the cabin easy to use and spelled out. Free firewood was a major plus as it snowed one night; didn’t really want to turn on the TV because loved listening to the records piped through surround sound; brought paper goods, but there were plenty already there; very clean; not even a 5-minute drive to the Village. Even though it was cold, we took several short walks with the stroller to the antique stores and mini mart that were only a few blocks away, and breakfast at Cedar Glen Inn was nice when I didn’t feel like cooking that morning. The only bad part was that we didn’t get to spend as much time outside on the beautiful private patio! We’ll have to come back again to enjoy that in the sun! Either way, it was a great getaway--happy we picked this place!
We had an awesome weekend in the mountains. The cottage was the perfect place for my wife's birthday weekend. We hiked, biked and just relaxed, we will be back to enjoy this little slice of paradise again. Thanks for making this not feel like a rental, the place is equipped with all the dishes, cookware, utincels, firewood and even a stereo system with a great selection of old school vinyl records, it really feels like your own place. Large deck out back complete with all the furniture and a BBQ for the warmer months.
Our family wanted a close getaway where we could relax and enjoy the mountain environment...this cottage fit the bill 100%. Upon arrival the place was clean and ready to use. The beds were beyond comfortable, the living room was cozy with the great fireplace and the back deck was perfect. We spent most of our evenings grilling and enjoying the incredible back yard while listening to old vinyl records.
Greg was the perfect host and went above and beyond the call of duty in showing the type of customer service you would expect only at a 5-star hotel.
If you want some time away from it all then this is the place for you! Thank you again Greg and we will be back!
