CHARMING VINTAGE ARROWHEAD CABIN CLOSE TO LAKE

First of all, your absent host, Greg, has set up this mountain retreat to make your stay enjoyable. The kitchen is ready for you to open any cupboard and find exactly what you need. The guest binder has necessary information for you (and notes for you to help Greg keep his equipment/fireplace, etc up and running correctly). Greg is very nice and was helpful while making reservations and throughout our pre-rental and rental period.

The inside wood is beautiful and the outside "curb appeal" is cozy and inviting. There are newer windows that open so easily and lots of them to provide good cross ventilation on a warm day and to bring in light. The late afternoon sun kisses your face with an appealing warmth if you are snoozing on the comfortable couch!! It was wonderful to look out into the trees from the living room and when I woke in the morning. The trees give you a great feeling of privacy from the side and backyard neighbors, but not in a claustrophobic, dense-forested way.

The access to the lake path was a real plus...so nice to get close to the fronts of some amazing homes on the lake! The walk to the village via the path is convenient. The paths are well kept and forested so provide good shade in most areas to make your walk cooler on a warm day. Be careful...don't race up the steps the first day of your stay...give yourself a day or two to adjust to the altitude if you don't live in the mountains year 'round. A favorite view was of two golden retrievers and their master. The dogs jumped off of his doc and retrieved and retrieved and retrieved. What a happy life for all three of them and joy for us to stand and share in their time together.

The outside living area of the house is a real plus. The deck is large, sunny and surrounded by trees. If you own binoculars, pack them. We are birders and identified several birds while sitting (thank you, Greg!). If you walk on the side of the lake with the boatyard, keep your eye out for an eagle. We saw him with a fish in tow while two crows were annoying him. We enjoyed sleeping with open windows and listening to the wind meander through the trees and the morning songs of the birds. The area is quiet and peaceful in late April - early May.

There are plenty of games in the downstairs bedroom closet. Be aware that the Scrabble board doesn't allow women to win!!!

The location is convenient and close to the main market in the village and a mini-mart for evening cravings.

This place was absolutely charming. Perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway! I would recommend this property to any one wanting to get away from the city life. Greg is extremely thoughtful and goes out of his way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible :)

My husband and I took our two teenage kids to the cottage for a couple of days. We just wanted to share some quality time and enjoy the peace and serenity of Lake Arrowhead. The cottage had just the perfect ambiance I was looking for for our family. It was very quaint and cozy. I loved the fireplace and the knotty pine inside, and Greg provided everything we needed to help us have a wonderful time. The place was very clean and there were plenty of linens, firewood, pots and pans, dishes, etc. for us to use. The pictures accurately reflect the coziness of the cottage and it is located in a nice neighborhood which is very close to the lake. We took a walk to the end of the street and saw a view of the lake. Thank you, Greg for everything!
