I look forward to the return of this great guest, as he was very clean and quiet. You wouldn't even know anyone had stayed in the apartment. Everything was left very orderly.

I'm a longtime resident of San Francisco and this apartment building was originally owned by my mother who purchased it in 1974. I have managed the building since the beginning and personally oversee its care. This apartment is my first VRBO rental and I am really looking forward to taking care of my guests and informing them all about San Francisco and its wonderful sights. I'm one of the few California natives still around. I was a professional dancer and ended up in the restaurant business so I can give you many outstanding recommendations to the amazing food, restaurants and wine found within this international city.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2009

When my last tenant moved, I decided to renovate and turn this particular apartment into a fabulous VRBO apartment. Everything is new and clean!

Spectacular panoramic view of San Francisco, quiet neighborhood, vistas, gardens, peaceful walks, close proximity to local markets, cafes, and retail shops, a tranquil pocket of a vibrant international city.

NEARLY PERFECT IN EVERY MANNER!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here at this fabulous apartment overlooking the city of San Francisco for one month! It's exactly what I wanted and was more than what the photos show. It's like stepping back into a 1940's brand new unit with today's trendy furniture and conveniences. The kitchen is white & yellow with a little sitting area. Everything was spotlessly clean and even the utility drawer was perfectly lined up. There is plenty of everything for most normal cooking and entertaining. It could use a bread knife though. The 1940's pink & grey bath has a tub and a separate shower. It was spotless with all tile grout lines perfectly spotless & white. The bedroom is huge and it's nice to wake up in the morning to see the large tree with birds or the city skyline. Plenty of drawers & closet space too. It would be perfect if the bed was just queen or king size. Living & dining room was open & spacious and we enjoyed the city view each day & night. Furniture was comfortable and the television worked well. The owner actually has a few house plants around to give it a real nice homey feel. This location feels very secure with the double door entry, the gate at the steps, and having a garage for the car was a big plus. Overall, I just don't understand why this lovely unit is not booked one year in advance. Ardine the owner is a real delight to deal with and is available just on her cell number. We've rented many places for months at a time and wished that we could had given this place 6 Stars! Bravo, Ardine!

GREAT APARTMENT IN A FANTASTIC NEIGHBORHOOD!

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I, along with our two teenagers, loved this suite! The apartment itself was clean, bright, spacious and well-equipped. It was nicer, and felt bigger, than it looks in the photos. Our kids slept in the living room: my daughter on the sofa bed and my son on a large inflatable mattress that Ardine provided. Both the bedroom and hallway had walk in closets where we hung clothes and stowed luggage and bedding out of sight. We enjoyed the secure furnished patio. We liked the hardwood floors and the cute kitchen and bathroom. We had great weather during our stay but the mornings were cool. We turned the heat on and the suite quickly warmed up. The kitchen had everything we needed.
The suite is located in a small, well maintained apartment building with quiet neighbors. It is in a fantastic location in a very appealing neighborhood. We are avid walkers and loved exploring the area. For example, we walked through a series of attractive stairways to Twin Peaks to get a grand view over of the city (we used a map site to get the 20 minute pedestrian route). The suite is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the Castro (& Market) metro station. We enjoyed looking at the beautiful homes and gardens along the way. We walked to the Noe Valley shops (approximately 15 minutes) and also over the hill to the Mission district (approximately 25 minutes). We felt safe and comfortable around the apartment.
This suite is not suited for anyone who is challenged by stairs or intimidated by hills. I counted 60 steps (through a lovely outdoor garden staircase) to access the apartment from the garage. For us, the climb was worth it: after all, we were on the side of a hill with a fantastic view.
It doesn't take long in SF to realize that having a parking spot is a huge bonus.
Ardine was helpful and friendly when I booked the apartment and also when she met us to give us access to the suite and a quick orientation (location of garbage, shared coin laundry, use of garage remote, etc). She clearly takes a close interest in ensuring the apartment is in good condition and that her guest get settled in.
We would book this apartment again without any hesitation. I heartily recommend this apartment – especially to anyone who wants to experience life as an SF local in a comfortable suite and lovely neighborhood.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT FOR US

  • 5 of 5
This property in the Castro area was perfect for my husband and I. It is close to Noe Valley, The Mission, Twin Peaks, and just a few blocks to the Castro area. You can walk 5 to 10 blocks to 24th Street where there are many shops, restaurants, and a Whole Foods grocery store. The Castro area is also just a few blocks away where you can find coffee shops and restaurants as well. Public transportation is also close by if you do not have a car. The unit is equipped with a garage, which, if you have a car, is a wonderful added bonus! The view from the living area is spectacular, especially at night! The bed is a full sized, not a queen, so if you need a larger bed, this unit may not work for you. There is a pullout sofa in the living area, which we did not use. The unit is equipped with everything you should need, including a laundry room adjacent to the unit by walking outside a few steps. The owner is great! She was particularly responsive and helpful, and I liked her immediately. She even called a neighbor below to come and help in getting the TV to work (input settings just needed adjusted), and he was just extremely friendly and helpful. You really feel like a member of the neighborhood when staying here, which I really liked. All of the people walking their dogs and coming and going were so friendly, saying hello and giving advice on where to eat and find a good cup of coffee. I would highly recommend this great rental for those who don't want to stay downtown or in the very "touristy" areas of San Francisco yet still want to be able to venture out and see the city via public transportation or driving.

PERFECT FOR US

  • 5 of 5
This was my first visit to San Francisco and this apartment met our needs very well. The property was spotless and the owner was very helpful and accommodating, even after we arrived later than planned. The apartment is close to the heart of the Castro district and has a panoramic view of the city skyline and the Oakland Bay Bridge. The neighborhood is clean and safe. Super markets, restaurants, night spots, and several parks are within a few blocks, easy walking if you like steep hills. The garage is a real advantage since street parking is at a premium. Public transportation via street cars and buses is also within a short walk. We would stay here again the next time we visit this beautiful city.

LOVELY APARTMENT, GREAT VIEW, AND VERY NICE OWNER

  • 5 of 5
The apartment was much better than expected. It was clean, in great shape, has a wonderful unobstructed view from both the main room and bedroom. It is also plenty large. My wife and I stayed with our two girls and had plenty of space.

It is a nice, quiet location, but only a short walk to a fun commercial area.

Really, don't hesitate -- this is a great place. My only caution is that the entrance is on a very pretty public stairway and involves climbing about 40 or so stairs, so probably not a good choice for folks with mobility or health issues but otherwise nothing at all to give a second thought to.

FANTASTIC VIEW

  • 5 of 5
This place was the perfect mix of being close to everything but still very quiet. As a first time vrbo customer, Ardine was very thorough in showing us the apartment and explaining their guidelines. Everything was fully furnished and very convenient to grocery stores as well as a number of restaurants. The weekend was a big hit with our group and can't wait to return. Thank you again Ardine!
