Prince of Wales Island Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 3-7)
Adventure Alaska is a small family owned business. We opperate seven cottages as well as a tackle store on the property. We live on site in our own cottage. This means we are available to answer questions like 'How do you fillet a halibut' as well as give fishing or hunting info, weather reports ect. Adventure Alaska is not only a self guided opperation we also offer guided trips and day charters. We are located in Thorne Bay, a very small community on Prince of Wales Island but we do have a gas station and a grocery store. This means that though we have a remote location you dont need to import grocerys. Access to Thorne Bay is via floatplane or ferry only. This sepperates us from the crowded places that have fisherman lining the banks shoulder to shoulder. It is quite common to hit your favorite fishing hole and not see another person all day. Though our Island is remote it is large. The third largest in the USA. With many roads that can give you access to many lakes and streams.
Why the Owner Chose Prince of Wales Island:: We like the fact that we are remote yet still only a 30 minute floatplane flight from Ketchikan. (Ketchikan gets thousands of tourists a day.) Here on Prince of Wales we experience the authentic small-town life where there is only one grocery store and the locals wave at you when they pass. We enjoy the absence of hordes of people along the streams and rivers as we fish and the scenic grandeur of God’s creation that surrounds us.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage:: Many of our guests often comment that we are living their dream! We don’t take it for granted that there is so much to do nearby. We enjoy stream fishing, boating, hiking with our kids and dog, spotting wildlife, exploring the shoreline, beachcombing and more. Often our business keeps us too busy to enjoy this beautiful place we live, yet all these things are only minutes away!

Guestbook comments from the owner
Jason & Trisha,
Thanks so much for making my first Alaskan fishing week truly an adventure! The manner in which you familiarized all 14 of us with your equipment, transportation--boats and vehicles, services, facilities, and daily updates of fishing locations was truly the mark of professionalism. I've been lots of places during military deployments throughout the world but never welcomed as you & your staff did for us 20-27 August 2010. Especially noteworthy was your daily availability to all departing groups each morning, regardless of the hour. I had heard many laudatory comments reference your operation but was totally blown away to see my expectations greatly exceeded! Best to you & family and thanks again for the great support.
Sincerely, J.W. Felder
