Falmouth is a tourist friendly town with many events, to name just a few, the Falmouth Road Race, Triathlons, bike races, weekly farmers market and the Barnstable County Fair.
Walk downtown for numerous events such as outdoor movie night, concerts, and parades. Relax on the upper deck to catch a tan, read a book or enjoy a cocktail during sunset. If you are here over the 4th of July walk down to the beach and enjoy the fireworks.
The house and grounds were very nice and accomodated us easily. The owners were very quick to fix the one or two things that had to be repaired. We enjoyed playing croquet on the lawn. The proximity to the town and beach was great. We needed the expanded table for a few days and the owners kindly gave us the extra leaves.
Wonderful property so close to downtown Falmouth and a short 1/2 mile walk to the beach. Near it all but still quiet and private. Lots of space to spread out both inside and out (we had my sister's family and my own) and plenty of parking for day visitors. The owner lives on site which we found helpful when we had questions and provided security that should we need anything, they were right there. The a/c was a bonus too! We would definitely return on our next Cape Cod vacation!
Spectacularly well located, quintessential Cape Cod home. Easy walking distance to charming Falmouth Village and Surf Drive Beach. Well equipped with modern kitchen, electronics and up-to-date furnishings. We spent lazy days with our 4-year old walking to Surf Drive Beach (has a protected swimming area for little ones and a snack bar!) then evenings enjoying the secluded backyard or a walk to town for dinner, ice cream and shopping - we hardly ever used the car! Owners are fabulous and took care of our every request. We will definitely be back!
We just spent a wonderful week in Falmouth at this beautiful home. From the lovely, private backyard with bright flowers and trees full of singing birds, to the wonderful second floor balcony with comfy lounge chairs, the outdoors is matched by a beautiful, charming interior with plenty of space for everyone. Everything is updated throughout with new bathrooms and a lovely, large kitchen. There are air conditioners in every bedroom and the den, but with the beautiful cape breezes, you may just want to open the windows so you can hear the birds and smell the fresh air. Lovely as the house is, the location is the real feature. We were always thrilled to stand on Main Street and be able to see "our house." For the two "older" ladies in our group, it meant we were able to walk to town for dinner or shopping with no problem. The young adults had no problem walking to the nearby beach. There was plenty of nightlife in Falmouth and Woods Hole for the younger ones in the group, within walking distance or an inexpensive taxi ride, so our cars mostly sat in the large parking area (and our personal favorite, a basketball hoop!). We were five minutes from the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and less than five minutes from a great Cape League ballpark for a wonderful family outing. My only suggestion is maybe a second t.v. in the master would have been awesome. All in all, we hope to return to this wonderful place next year.
Our family just stayed there and we had the perfect vacation. Just steps to the gorgeous Falmouth Main Street with beautiful shops and excellent restaurants (Anejo and Roobar were are staples). The house is pristine and you can fit 8-10 people comfortably (my 6 year old loved the Master Bedrooms Closet!). The backyard table and seating as well as the 2nd floor balcony were so relaxing. We had fun playing basketball in the driveway at the end of most days. Just a great destination. The Surf Drive Beach is walkable but it's not the best beach (very windy, water murky). We spent a few days at Old Silver Beach which was beautiful and about a 15 minute drive. We took a longer day trip (35 minutes) up to Craigville Beach in Centerville which was beautiful. We took a trip to the Vineyard via the Ferry out of Falmouth Marina about 2 miles away. A day exploring Woods Hole via the trolley ($2 each way) with my 6 year old was fun as we hit the Marina information center and the aquarium (free, donations suggested). As for nightlife Anejo always had a good crowd, Roobar was fun, a Sunday trip to Woods Hole at Landfall was fun (very young) and Grumpy's is within walking distance and is a fun dive bar that has pool, darts and a live band most nights.
All in all a very fun trip and a perfect cape destination. This house was a great home base for us to enjoy the area. 5 Stars!!
