Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

This place rocks. Outside it's a Sierra summer gem without the masses -- a shallow and warm lake for swimming and sailing (no motor boats), 100 yards from the cabin North America's largest cross-country ski resort and great hiking trails, 10 minutes from the cabin, the pacific crest trail and donner lake.

Inside, it's clean, classic, modern, wide open and kid friendly. Exposed, unfinished wood walls, cork floors, wool rugs, american clay walls, and new windows come together for a cozy feeling of modern comfort.

The downstairs has a main room with comfy couches, a fireplace and big windows and doors leading to large pine back deck and back yard. The kitchen is stocked with lots of dishes, a coffee maker, toaster oven and a microwave. The dishwasher is quiet and there is a washer and dryer.

The upstairs loft has high ceilings and a full bathroom, two single beds and a big sofa facing a flatscreen t.v. You can bathe in the claw foot tub while overlooking the green space below.

The cabin is located at the end of a cul-de-sac. Which means you can watch the kids play from the kitchen. Detailed maps are provided on the cabin's website: armadillocabin.com.

Pets are allowed, just not upstairs. But they're probably going to want to be outside with you most of the time anyway...

Architecturally designed and completely remodeled A-Frame cabins just don't exist anymore. Staying here is like driving a VW van that has been completely over-hauled.

What an incredibly special property! Not only were the owners super flexible and accommodating, but their home was beyond comfortable, cozy, clean, stacked with amenities, and perfectly located. We couldn't have asked for more. We had our 5 and 2.5 year old children with us and they loved the house just as much as we did! I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautifully designed and perfectly located cabin, only 7 minutes away from Sugar Bowl (perfect place for the kids to learn to ski). We had a blast and thank the owners for creating such a magical home. It's our new top vacation rental home, by far.

Fantastic, clean, comfortable house very close to Sugar Bowl. Spent the weekend with wife and 2 kids and everyone loved it. Great, fully-stocked kitchen. Lots of board games and dvd's. Even Legos!

Nicely appointed cabin in a great location for Royal Gorge or Sugar Bowl.

This cabin is beautiful and located in a quiet cul-de-sac 5 minutes from Royal Gorge. Fixtures are high end and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is great for cooking.

My only complaints are that the water heater is a little small if multiple people want to shower and I would have hoped the cleaning fee would include emptying the garbage.

I would definitely stay there again.

This property was everything it presents itself to be online - clean, modern, hip and comfortable. Our family of four enjoyed the space very much for cooking and hanging out reading, playing games and watching movies upstairs. Our six year old son especially loved the wooden marble run and drawer full of Legos and both kids took full advantage of the cul-de-sac location for playing in the snow. We would definitely love to stay at the Armadillo another time - any season!

We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The house was tastefully appointed, clean and everything was functional. Its proximity to the lakes and ski areas make it a perfect getaway for families. Our stay was relaxing and fun and we would do it again in a heartbeat.
