This apartment is a quiet oasis in the center of San Francisco, mere steps away from the bustle of the Haight-Ashbury district and all of its shops, restaurants and nightlife. It is one block from Golden Gate Park, and a short walk to all of the museums and attractions therein. For those wishing to explore 'the City' (as locals call it) by public transportation, there are stops for major transit lines about a block away that will get you anywhere from Ocean Beach to Fishermans Wharf, and all points in between. If you are visiting on business, a nearby bus will take you directly to the Financial District. The apartment is also very close to UCSF Medical Center, the University of San Francisco (USF) and Saint Marys Medical Center.
San Francisco is a world-class city, with something for everyone. Every neighborhood has its own particular flavor, with amazing sights and sounds around every corner. If you are coming to San Francisco, relax, enjoy, explore...and WELCOME!
The Apartment: Your peaceful hideaway from the hustle and bustle of city life starts with a walk-through (but still spacious) fully-equipped kitchen, and a connected eating area with beautiful stained glass, a view of the gorgeous backyard, and seating for 4. The living room also contains a desk/work area and the bedrooms (1 Queen, 1 Full/Double) are cozy and inviting. The backyard is perfect for morning coffee, afternoon barbeques, or simply lounging at any time during the day and planning your next adventures.
Golden Gate Park: The apartment is ideally located to explore San Francisco: a 1 block walk leads to Golden Gate Park, which includes such sights as: the Conservatory of Flowers, Academy of Sciences, M.H. de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, and the Arboretum (Botanical Garden); as well as such activities as: a children-only playground, archery, biking and skating, golf, horseback riding, lawn bowling, tennis, fly-fishing, and plenty of spots for a wonderful picnic. The park is larger than New York's Central Park, and is covered with more than one million trees and contains its own herd of bison.
Transportation: A car is not necessary with this very centrally located apartment. If you tire of walking, taxicabs are plentiful, and San Francisco’s public transportation system is easy and intuitive. Having a bus stop one block away from the flat makes travel to Ocean Beach, shopping downtown at boutiques or the mall, the Embarcadero, Fisherman's Wharf, etc. a snap. If you're coming for business or a convention, there is direct bus service to Downtown one block away. Finally, if you do bring a car there is permitted street parking, but also some sections where you may leave a car parked for a full week without a permit.
My wife and I stayed here with our 4 yr. old and it was a great base for exploring. The apartment was comfortable and clean. It was great to have a kitchen for cooking meals rather than eating out every day. The location of the apartment provided us with several transit options, which made exploring the city very convenient. Katrina was very attentive to all of our texts, questions, and provided a wonderful welcome basket of goodies to get us started.
What a nice appartement, cosy and with a lot of charm... We stay there for almost a week and could'nt be more satisfied. A lot of light is coming from the kitchen windows (with some colored rainbows on the wall when it passes through the stained glass !). The place is well equiped and ideally situated. Historical and colorful Haigth street is a few feets away (we highly recommand Haight Market for the grocery...) - although the apartment/direct neighborhood is extremely quiet and silent - and you can catch the 71 bus at the corner to easily reach the Center or the Golden Gate Park. There is a nice little garden with tropical plants and from the second floor (stairs are totally OK) you can see some roses by the window. Communication with our host was nice and easy, and the key system proved practical and effective. We also particularely enjoyed the goodies left for us at our arrival, all the books about SF and the giant wardrobes in both rooms ! We just hope we can get back (5 days are definitively not enough!!).

My wife, daughter and I stayed here for 8 nights and had a wonderful time. SF is fantastic, but having a nice base to come home to every night made the visit even better.
It was very clean, very quiet and very comfortable. instructions from Katrina were clear and we had no problem letting ourselves in and to find a few essentials in the fridge for us was a real bonus. especially after travelling all day.
Katrina was a great host and nothing was a problem.
I would stay here again and woudl recommend to anyone.
Lovely apartment, very central to everything we wanted to see and do. X
A friend and I recently stayed in San Francisco for our first ever trip to California and staying in this apartment helped to make it a wonderful vacation! The apartment is extremely easy to find, ridiculously convenient to bars/restaurants, shops, groceries, Golden Gate park and everything the city has to offer! We actually walked to the Civic Center from the apartment one day, which was a bit of a walk but it was beautiful! There are buses nearby and even cab rides to local attractions were easy and inexpensive. Katrina is a wonderful host and the property was great - clean, comfortable, and exactly as advertised. I will definitely recommend this unit to anyone traveling in the area and I hope it's still available the next time we travel. Thank you so much Katrina!
