I grew up vacationing on this lake with my grandparents. I welcome you to visit our beautiful, new Adirondack house. There is plenty to do in the area, but the best thing is relaxing on the deck, breathing the clean air, and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Bring your boat, jet ski, fishing gear, 4 runners, mountain bikes and snowmobiles.
Loren Coburn purchased this house in 2009
We searched for the perfect property on this beautiful lake to enjoy our family time. This house is brand new. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Bring your boat, jet ski, 4 runners, fishing gear, mountain bikes and snowmobiles. You can also enjoy hiking in the nearby Adirondack mountains. The house has a dock on a quiet cove that you can park your boat or jet ski at. A tourist information center is just down the street. Boat launches are also nearby.
A group of nine of us had our annual reunion (4 nights) at this beautiful house and found it a perfect size and very comfortable. We were 9 men so we used a couple of Aerobeds. If you need the downstairs bedroom warm leave the fireplace off and let the furnace do the job. There was plenty of hot water and with 4 bathrooms never any wait. The kitchen while beautiful could be a little better equipped ( a few more utensils ) but no big deal. All in all a 5 star house. Apparently it is for sale so I can only hope it will be available for our 40th
This rental home feels like my home away from home ... Very comfortable, clean and spacious. This is a great rental home and would recommend to all!
The house was nice and new, as advertised. Furnshings were of good quality, and the house was clean. There were quite a few annoyances though- which stop us from giving this rental property a better rating.
1. The house has very low water pressure. When somebody takes a shower, any other use of water in the house (toilet, dishwasher, etc) completely stops the water in the shower from flowing. Not pleasant at all.
2. There is a single thermostat in the house ( on the main level). The upper floor and basement had no heating of their own, and temperature was dipping in the low 60's when the main floor was at 72. No heater was provided to take care of ths temperature differential, we had to run out and buy our own
3. We had a construction crew onsite all 3 days we were there, building a retaining wall. No privacy to speak of.
4. The house had exactly zero toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels or dishwasher detergent. The gas tank for the grill was empty.
5. We had to replace 5 bulbs on the main floor- there was little light as we came in
6. The water still smells like sulphur
The master bedrrom with the queen bed was on the main floor- nice. The upstairs had 2 rooms, one with 3 beds, and one with 2 beds. All 5 beds are smallish ( they feel smaller than a twin bed) and not that confortable. The 4th bedroom was in the basement with a soft queen bed. We did not use that part of the house, it was too cold.
Check out is 9am, check in is 4pm.
So all in all, if the house keeping issues are taken care of, not a bad property, probably better in the summer than in the winter, with no snow and the lake neither ice free, nor frozen. The neighborhood is also a little odd, with very expensive homes next to not so well kept houses.
Not only was it easy to book, but communicating with the property owner was a breeze.
The photos of the property don't do it justice. The house is spectacular! We had plenty of room and privacy and everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The house was clean and well maintained and close to town so if you needed a store or restaurant it wasn't a far drive.
The only complaint I had was that there was not enough silverware for everyone but we had brought plastic utensils so it was ok. But other than that everything was fantastic! The furniture was comfortable, the beds were comfortable, there were plenty of linens and towels for everyone, etc.
We have already told family and friends about this place and hope to do it all again next year! We made use of the lake and dock and my husband caught some fish so that made for a happy trip for him too! We had a blast relaxing on the deck with friends and enjoying the view. We were disappointed in the walk down to the fire pit (not so much down but definitely up). It would be nice to have a fire pit on the grassy area below the deck that is easier to get to.
We felt right at home there and hope to go back again and again! Spectacular!!!
The house is large and modern and has all of the conveniences of home (kitchen supplies, towels, linens, movies and games for kids, etc.). The house was very clean and well kept. We had a small plumbing issue during our stay, but the homeowner was very responsive and accommodating.
There were a few downsides - the sulfur smell of the water can be a bit overwhelming at times and it was a pretty treacherous hike down to the water and fire pit. Very steep, very muddy, very-very buggy. Also, the upstairs bedrooms were pretty warm for the kids (despite having central air).
Despite those few things - the vacation was very enjoyable. The home is conveniently located near lots of fun things to do and the Sacandaga Lake never disappoints. The house is very comfortable and well furnished. Great for families with young children. We had plenty of room to sleep and the deck is enormous. We really enjoyed sitting out at night and having a few cocktails while enjoying the spectacular view. There is also plenty of storage space throughout the house, so you could really feel at home and not like you had to live out of a suitcase. There were 3 full bathrooms - which meant that everyone could shower and get ready to go in a very short time span. Also, no one had to wait to use the bathroom. The washer and dryer were great as well - especially for towels and wet suits. The kitchen was pretty fabulous as well. We ate at the house every night and had plenty of counter space for cooking for a large group and lots of seating for the adults and kids. Lots of cupboard space with a large refrigerator/freezer and the house is 5 minutes from town - so, we were able to grocery shop at Walmart and the grocery store and save quite a bit of money vs. having to eat out.
Stayed at this rental and had a wonderful time! The location is great as it is just minutes to Lapland Lake and many other attractions in the southern Adirondacks. Just a short walk to the lake and the house is stocked with everything you might need. The house was clean and in perfect condition. Overall the process of renting this cabin was easy with the exception of the credit card fee. Otherwise we had a great stay and I would strongly recommend this rental to friends and family.
