About Lisa Martin

My name is Lisa Martin & my husband is Merv.

My husband works for his brother in a tire shop & I am a secretary at a private school nearby.

We both love old log cabins & peaceful settings.

It had been a dream of ours to restore a old log cabin.

We built this cabin to rent out & share with others.

The cabin was orginally from Manhiem. We numbered the logs tore it down & moved them to this property. My husband & son built the cabin & set it back up. Every minute of spare time they had they worked on it. It took around 1 year to complete. We would love you to come & stay!

Lisa Martin purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Lisa Martin chose New Holland

This is an awesome place to enjoy the woods and nature. It is peaceful & secluded. We thought it would be the perfect place for a restored old log cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

We enjoy the solitude & wildlife while staying at the cabin. It is a great place to unwind! Enjoy sitting on the rocking chairs on the front porch overlooking the pond. Listen to the birds, watch for the deer, in the spring listen to the peepers.

Guestbook comments from the owner

THANK YOU!!!

We were so lucky to uncover this treasure in the woods - a perfect spot full of charm & peace. Getting away to just enjoy some solitude together was made all the more memorable because of this idyllic setting. We had fun exploring the local antique shops & enjoying just exploring the countryside - roaming free, happening upon a covered bridge or a small country store, sitting on the deck in the rockers as dusk turned to night - or in the morning as we enjoyed our coffee - we loved to be so one with nature - birds chirping, frogs croaking, lightening bugs flickering. I'm sure we will come back - would love to see it in winter & take in all the natural beauty, rest & relaxation this place has to offer.

Perfect Anniversary Surprise!!

  • 5 of 5

I surprised my wife with a 2 night stay for our 25th wedding anniversary. When we walked in she was blown away at how perfectly the cabin was decorated. This place is wonderful. We grilled dinner the first night and always had a cozy fire going, the hot tub topped it all off! We had the best time and wished we could have stayed longer. It was the perfect place to get away yet still be close to home. I highly recommend this beautiful cabin to anyone!

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing to get away and we found it! Everything in the cabin is well thought and planned and full of love and care. We also met the friendly cat and her name is Pearl ;-). We will definitely be making a trip every year and would reccomend this to anyone. It was one of the most special birthday's I have ever had.

two night stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin for two nights which just felt to short. The cabin is a great relaxing getaway from the real world. Was very clean and surpassed our expectations. Made good friends with the little cat we named Hunter. If you have a chance to walk the game lands I would do so...wear orange if it's hunting season.

Tears of Joy

  • 5 of 5

When we walked in the Front Door my Wife teared up, do I need to say more. This little Cabin has the feel of being 1,000 miles away from anything, but in reality it is not really that far from most anything in the area. This Cabin does not have some things that most have, such as a Oven and the Fridge is small, but knowing this upfront you can prepare. The Hot Tub was great after a long day out touring the area. Lisa was great at taking care of any questions we had when we set up the reservation. You will not see Lisa or Merv unless you go see them and their Home is just a short walk up the lane from the Cabin. We only spoke to Merv the night before we left when we went up to let them know how much we loved our Stay.

If we ever make it back to this area there is no where else I would want to be.
