The relaxing atmosphere is rejuvenating! Observing wildlife in their natural habitat from every room is a treat. There are lookout points to view the Hill Country and Canyon Lake within walking distance. Another special feature available to our guest is our 'Grace Garden'. This is the perfect inspirational setting for some quiet time. It's the perfect spot to watch the sunsets!
A WONDERFUL PLACE. HAD A GREAT TIME, NO EXTRAS LEFT OUT. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS AND PEACEFUL. THANK YOU.
Fresh, new, tastefully decorated, complete and private. A true mountain top experience...literally. 42 acres of mountaintop with trails and trees, convenient to Canyon Lake yet with the privacy of a forest retreat. A "prayer trail" pathway to the mountain summit was a special surprise and a serene place to walk, meditate and marvel at the view. The owner was a wonderful host and lived within a half mile if needed, although our needs were very few because the property is so well maintained. Our stay was four nights in July 2013.
I had a wonderful time with my friends. The property is kept up very well and has plenty of character for wandering and photography. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating and went out of their way on several occasions to make our stay easier. There is even a secret element to the property that is only worth revealing in person. Enjoy!
This is definitely a beautiful home BUT this is not the place for families with children, or visitors who will be in and out enjoying the lake/river activities. It is a 20 minute drive to the lake - public access and the drive up the last part of the hill is treacherous (one lane). The owner dropped in twice which I think is intrusive. (very nice people but still not acceptable.) Vacation should be relaxing but we were so worried about the expensive furnishings and the possibility that the owner or representative might drop in that we felt we had to keep it immaculate at all times. We took exceptional care of the home and left it spotless with the exception of mopping. NOT my idea of a relaxing lake trip at all. This home is for elderly people (55+), which I have indicated, who are there to bird watch, deer watch (beautiful view), and stay put. If you are visiting the area for lake or river activities, there are many places to rent even on the lake (not just a lake view) for alot less money. I give this a poor rating due to the amount of money we spent, the proximity to the lake, and for the fact that we got NO relaxation because we cleaned constantly and were nervous about the owner "dropping in."
THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING OUR FAMILY TO ENJOY THIS BEAUTIFUL HOME. FROM THE MOMENT WE WALKED IN THE FRONT DOOR THE VIEWS OF CANYON LAKE WERE BREATHTAKING FROM ALMOST EVERY ROOM. WOW! IF YOU LOVE TO COOK, THE KITCHEN HAS A COMMERCIAL STOVE, WAS FULLY EQUIPPED, AND OUR SONS ENJOYED COOKING BIG BREAKFASTS WITH PANCAKES ON THE GRILL ALMOST EVERY MORNING. THE 50 FOOT PATIO WAS ENJOYED BY EVERYONE FOR DEER WATCHING, BIRD WATCHING, AND LAKE VIEWING. WE SPENT A LOT OF TIME IN THE MORNING AND EVENING ON THE PATIO, COOKING, EATING, VISITING, AND PLAYING CARDS. IF WATCHING MOVIES IS YOUR THING, THE GAMEROOM UPSTAIRS HAS THEATRE SEATING FOR MOVIE WATCHING. THERE IS LOTS OF ROOM OUTDOORS TO EXPLORE IF YOU LIKE TO HIKE OR BIKE. THE HOME IS VERY SECLUDED AT THE TOP OF A MOUNTAIN BUT IS NOT FAR FROM CANYON LAKE FOR BOATING AND SWIMMING, THE RIVER FOR FLOATING, GRUENE FOR SHOPPING OR DINING, OR THE DRY COMAL CREEK WINERY. WE ENJOYED DOING ALL OF THIS AND MORE. WE HOPE TO ENJOY THIS HOME AGAIN WITH OUR FAMILY, EVERYONE WAS VERY COMFORTABLE HERE, IT FELT LIKE HOME. CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK, READY TO MOVE TO THE LAKE.
