Guestbook comments from the owner
To put it in the words of my sister, "This is heaven on earth". We booked the house so that we could have some down time with my sister who was visiting from overseas. To begin with the entire booking process was simple and easy. spoke with Sandra on the phone & worked everything out. We received an information package from her that was invaluable with excellent suggestions. The home was very comfortable for the 8 of us. The views were priceless. Waking up in the morning with the sun caressing you through the big windows & having a cup of coffee on the veranda watching the mist over the water was wonderful. All of us from the young to the old had something to do. Our son & I fished the entire time. he even went out to fish in the rain! The Fishers generously provided many games to keep us entertained when it rained outside. We took the suggestions & tried a lot of the local restaurants. Parsons soon became our favoite. Chef Dave even gave me a recipe for making perch which came out excellent! The house was immaculate and decorated to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. Again in the words of my sister "What a memorable house & vacation!" Thank you for allowing us the use of your beautiful home and we look forward to being back soon.

A big hello to our guests from Michael and Sandra. Here is a little info about the proud owners of Paradise on Daniels Pond, aka Terrapin Station. We both were born and raised in the beautiful country suburbs of Phila, Pa, Michael in Chester Springs and Sandra in Yardley, and we are both grads of Penn State. Go State! Although we did not know each other until 2003, when the wonderful internet then brought us together, Match.Com, yes it does work! While building Terrapin Station, we would stay at the enchanted Inn on the Common in the picturesque town of Craftsburry Common, VT. Here we became engaged and then off to the chapel on the Common to marry in 2006. We now reside in our Pa dream home, a restored farmhouse circa 1812, in the quaint town of Birchrunville, with our 2 goats Templeton and Archie, our 3 cats Curious, A.J. and Chi, and of course the kids-young adults, Alexander, Connor and Taylor. And yes Michael is a long time fan of the Grateful Dead and Sandra, the Rolling Stones.

Sandra and Michael Fisher purchased this house in 2006

Ahh, Vermont. The beauty of all that nature has to offer at its best! We both were fortunate to experience the wonders of Vermont in our earlier years. Michael's first entre to the Kingdom was in 1978, with one of several visits to the renown Bread and Puppet Theater in Glover. Wanting more of this beautiful state, Michael moved to Waitsfield from 1982 - 1985, working at Sugarbush, loving every moment. Sandra's first of many visits was in 1980 with her childhood friend who grew up spending summer and winter vacations at their lake house near Rutland. Skiing Killington, Okemo, Magic, bushwacking, water skiing, skating, hiking and loving it!. On to the year 2005 when we were ready to find our second dream home. We had Vermont in our hearts and knew that our desire to have serenity, beauty, privacy, the wonders of nature, and year round outdoor activities were all in this beautiful state. So we went for it and began the search and found our piece of paradise on the internet, and in Glover, where it all began! Yes, the internet has been good to us. At the time the property was a rough clearing with a foundation on 55 wooded acres, with an unbelieveable view of the water and mountains, and 1800 feet of shoreline, just absolutely beautiful. Feb of 2006 our dream home was ready. The first knock on our door were our pond neighbors Linda and Arthur, who welcomed us and offered their hospitality and to stop by anytime. This is what the people of the Kingdom are all about. In 2010 we were ready to offer our home to others to be able to enjoy this magical place. The Kingdom is One of the Most Beautiful Places in America. We are very thankful!

Our Wonderful stay at Terrapin Station

  • 5 of 5
What a truely wonderful time we had at Terrapin Station. From the minute we walked in the door we felt completely at home. Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished-this place is amazing. And the most incredible view of the snow covered lake. We were there in February and so of course there was lots of snow, pure white untouched powder. It was like Heaven on Earth.
A few of our favorite memories are stumping around outside in snowshoes and breathing in the freshest mountain air- drinking hot cocoa and playing board games around the fireplace at night- waking up amidst the most comfy, soft, white bedding, to the smell of breakfast cooking downstair- watching a weasel run through the woods as I take my time getting out of bed- heading to the slopes after an incredible day of skiing and snowboarding, we, my husband and two of our friends headed to Parker's Pie which was Fabulous!
Yes, Vermont, Terrapin Station, has stolen a piece of our hearts. Thank You for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful place. We are so grateful for your kindness. We hope many more people can enjoy this place as we did.

Lovely home off the beaten path!

  • 5 of 5
We highly recommend this vacation home to folks who simply want to relax and explore Vermont's beautiful North East Kingdom. Very private setting, the home is new, very clean, nicely decorated with all the needed amenities and very comfortable beds! A typical day starts with coffee on the large wrap around porch, a morning hike, afternoon yard games, swimming and canoeing, home made meal in the fully equipped kitchen followed by a bonfire to end the day. Wait til you see all the stars!

Owner's Response: Thank you Andrea for sharing how truly euphoric Terrapin Station is and for choosing this special place. We just love hearing how your days were spent. If we could have written how we spend our time it would be just the same from coffee on the porch to bonfire and star gazing - PERFECT! The serenity of gathering on the porch to " relax and explore"! And the stars - words cannot describe. Again thank you so much for being our guests! Warmly, Sandra and Michael.

Very Private Watefront Home with Excellent Fishing

  • 5 of 5
Terrapin Station is a lovely newer home in a beautiful location. We spent hours sitting on the wrap around front porch relaxing and taking in the view of Daniel's pond. My husband is typically an unlucky fisherman, and he had the time of his life fishing; every other time he cast he caught something. Many waterfront locations are very busy and not very private, but this place was exactly what we were looking for, it is the last home at the end of a country road, and from many locations on the property you are not aware of having any neighbors. We had a very enjoyable time, and the owners are extremely helpful in making sure you have a wonderful vacation.

Owner's Response: Aaah, sitting on the porch, watching the views, such medicine for the soul!! Kerri and Daniel, we are so glad that Terrapin Station's simple pleasures gave you these special memories. And the fishing, awesome! We are hearing that the fish are being very cooperative in being caught, quite exciting. Again, thank you for enjoying this very special place. Warmly, Sandra and Michael

Terrapin Station is absolutely amazing!

  • 5 of 5
Terrapin Station was everything and more than the Fisher's described. We wanted a private "get-away" and this was the perfect location. The beauty of the Fisher property, nestled in the pristine natural beauty of Vermont was exactly what we desired. We strongly recommend this vacation location to any and all considering the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

Heaven on earth!

  • 5 of 5
The house exceeded our expectations. The location was exactly what we were looking for & we had the best 3 days ever. The property was well maintained and inviting making you feel comfortable & welcomed. Sanra was most cordial, informative & helpful from the moment we contacted her to make a reservation. I certainly would recommend the property without reservations. We spent most of our time fishing & relaxing. Tried most of the restaurants that were recommended and even went antiquing one morning. Everyone young & old alike made use of the canoe. Overall one of the best mini vacations ever!
