We just bought the house and listed it with VRBO in 2011. We took 2 entries from the guest book that was in the house and entered them in the reviews section since we hadn't had time to hear from visitors ourselves. We hope these entries will give you an idea of the experiences some of the previous guests have had at Blue Mountain Cottage.

About Linda Jarrett
I am a Curriculum Technology Specialist recently retired from Shelby County Schools. My husband recently retired from the Department of Treasury. We are loving retirement and enjoying our frequent trips to the mountains. Our daughter and son-in-law recently moved from Arizona to Tennessee, and we are thrilled to have them closer.

Why Linda Jarrett chose Gatlinburg
My husband and I have been coming to Gatlinburg for years and hope to move to this house in a few years. We took our first vacation together in Gatlinburg in 1974 and stayed at Rocky Waters. Over the years we started renting houses in this area and enjoyed the privacy, space, and views afforded by this type of rental. Chalet Village and Chalet Village North are our favorite areas. It is quiet and yet close to everything. When we found this house on Bear Walk Way, we couldn't resist buying it. The idea of living the rest of our lives looking out our windows and seeing mountains, valleys, wildlife, and distant night lights is a dream come true.
What makes this house unique
We love the mountains and are interested in the history of the area. We love walking in the park, seeing the wild turkeys, bears, deer, and the red headed woodpeckers that live in our back yard. In the winter the snow is beautiful, and in the fall the colors are spectacular. We rarely go into town during high tourist season, but in January and February parking is allowed on the strip and that is when we do our fun shopping and sightseeing. We belong to the Great Smoky Mountain Association and appreciate all the efforts to maintain the natural resources and historic living areas in the park.
Guestbook comments from the owner
This is our 7th time staying at Blue Mountain--again we love it! Beautiful weather--our first trip to Pancake Pantry and it was wonderful. Also ejoyed Dixie Stampede and Comedy Barn again.
We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to be able to come back again. Many thanks for sharing your lovely chalet.
P.S. Getting ready to leave, Chuck was loading the car and a big black bear walked right behind him--went over and check the garbage cans and continued on down the road. What a sight to remember.
