I meant to leave you a note. (I left a little note in your ‘wedding’ journal on the desk)
We – I – LOVED your space. It was so cozy, welcoming and absolutely perfect. How delightful to wake to the sound of the song birds and to enjoy my morning tea while strolling in your lovely tropical garden. I will and have – recommended your space to others. In fact – told my family about it and suggested we return and experience the magic together.
I felt the love you have placed into this precious little oasis. Your attention to details did not go unnoticed.
How convenient to the park entrance and to be able to see the glow of the caldera lava lake.
My time at Anthurium Alii was splendid. The booking and management is first rate. There, I felt the warmth of a place that is loved and cared for, and it exceeded my expectations for comfort. I savored being there, waking up to the birdsong amidst the lush jungle and coming back from my adventures to retire into the deep night. If you are on a tight schedule, be warned that you will find it hard to dash out onto the highway each morning because being there is so wonderful. I hope to return some day with others who I know will be enchanted too.
I stayed here for one night with my wife, son and his girlfriend. We were mostly staying near Captain Cook but wanted to visit the Volcanoes National Park. I'm so glad we did this because there's so much to see and you can't do it in a day, plus it's cool to see the volcano at night. The house was amazing and may be one of the fanciest houses I've stayed in. The furniture was very nice, the house was like something out of a magazine. The grounds were very nice, and it was great to sit in the covered patio in the back and listen to all the birds singing in the trees. The houses are well spaced apart, so it feels very private. The hot tub was having problems the night we were there (they were having outages for some reason), but it was in a nice setting and I would have really loved to have used it. The house also has a wood burning fireplace with plenty of wood. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it looked really well equipped. I read a lot of reviews of rental places around Volcano that were cheaper but sounded like a nightmare - so glad we stayed here! The one knock is that my son said that the bed in the Queen Liliʻuokalani room sags in the middle, making it challenging for two people to sleep in - they both kept rolling into the middle of the bed. The other bed was great. I slept like a baby.
We had 4 adults and 2 grandkids staying at the rainforest house for 2 nights. It was a perfect fit for us. My husband and I had our privacy in the ohana while our daughter's family stayed in the main house that had 2 bedrooms. The bedrooms are very large and each had it's own bath. We loved the large jacquzzi bathtubs. The hot tub was ready for us when we arrived and that was a treat. The grounds are gorgeous and very private. It is just around the corner from the Volcanoes National park so we could take our time to enjoy it and the winery. Wonderful time!
We spent 3 nights there and it was perfect. It's like an estate, lodge, and cabin all rolled into one. It's secluded, charming, comfortable, well equipped , beautiful , relaxing, and magical .
It's good for a family, a few couples, or a honeymoon. It's convenient to Volcano park and village, but so isolated that you have perfect privacy. The back yard is like a small botanical garden, where you relax on the veranda. Inside is very charming with antique furniture, fireplace, and other beautiful decor. The kitchen is well equipped.
There's a great spa outside to relax in.
We just stumbled on this place and are very glad we did!
The owner , Marie, was great to work with and made sure everything went well.
Enjoy your stay here!
My husband and I decided to rent the cottage for the second time! This cottage is a great place to stay and is located just a few minutes away from the National Park and Volcano Village, with great restaurants and delivery.
We love that it is warmly decorated by the owners with their own beautiful colonial furniture and antiques.
The ambient is very welcoming, in the middle of the rainforest with gorgeous mature fern trees, flowers everywhere and birds singing in the background, we enjoyed the terrace around the house.
The hot tub is amazing, under the trees with complete privacy, a delight ...
I also recommend having a glass of wine by the big fireplace at night.
There is also a great "TV area" as well as a charming breakfast nook by the great french doors. The views from inside the cottage are stunning.
I loved the kitchen as well; it can seat a lot of people if you want to come with friends.
All the bedrooms are absolutely charming, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable with nice bathrooms.
We are definitely going back next trip, for the third time! I sent some friends there and they simply adored it.
