Having grown up on the beaches in Florida, the need to spend quality time on the water led us to Lake Lanier. We looked for a long time to find the perfect weekend get-away and found it in this brand new home. The easy access to Atlanta allows us to commute when necessary to mid-town Atlanta and Marietta; but while we're here, there's no city noise or bustle. Relaxation sets in as soon as you hit the front steps.
From the front porch, enjoy coffee while the sun rises over the ridge. Deer and other wildlife wander through the property giving a “mountain house” experience. The fall colors are exquisite as the setting sun lights them. Step through the house to the back deck where you can enjoy grilling, relaxing on a chaise lounge, reading or sunbathing. Wander down to the terrace level and take a nap in the hammock or watch the sun set over the lake.
High cedar plank ceilings, a stacked stone fireplace and hardwood floors give our home a lodge feel, while the open floor plan, expansive windows and new top of the line furniture give a definite resort feel. The layout makes this a perfect getaway for two or three families. The house is decorated in a casual, yet refined style that echoes the sweet restful song of the water.
While there are plenty of great places to dine on the lake and in nearby Cumming, Dawsonville and Gainesville, our fully equipped kitchen makes creating wonderful dining experiences for the whole group a snap. With seating for nine in the dining area, (6 at pub height table and 3 at the bar) everyone can enjoy the area’s best seafood from Atlanta Highway Seafood, or steaks from Ferguson’s Meat Market.
Bring your boat or jet ski (or rent one at nearby Port Royale Marina) and tie up on our covered dock. Our cove is deep, but protected and opens up to the big water of Chestatee Bay at the main channel at Browns Bridge. Prefer to float around in the cove? It’s perfect for swimming and restful sunbathing.
When vacation plans require shopping and other entertainment, you're in luck. We're 15 minutes from the North Georgia Outlets, movies, and Lake Lanier Islands. Golf, horseback riding, tennis, hiking, and much more awaits you nearby as well.

Although we're Native Floridians, we've lived in the Metro Atlanta area for 30 years , and we get our 'water time' on Lake Lanier as often as possible. Spending family time on the boat or dock is priceless! One of our favorite weekend luxuries is to take a carafe of coffee down to the dock in the morning to watch the fish feed. We also enjoy loading the boat with snacks or a light dinner and heading over to the Aqualand Marina area to watch the sailboat races on Wednesday or Saturday evenings. The fall colors are seen best on the lake. When the weather doesn't permit boat time, we play board games or take in a movie.
We have a 28 foot boat that we LOVE to use, so we looked long and hard for the perfect weekend home, one we could get to quickly on a Friday afternoon. It had to have a protected cove with deep water, a quiet setting and a style that met with the perfectionist's eye of the architect. We also like to entertain, so we needed a home that could easily accommodate two extra families. Dad and son like to watch SEC football, but mom likes to sit outside reading or snoozing; so there had to be something for everyone. This house has it all!
Coming to the lake is like taking a vacation without all the fuss! For us it's a fifty minute drive. One of us always stops at Ferguson's Meat Market on highway 369 or runs into town to get fresh shrimp, fish, oysters, or Cajun food from Phong Le at Atlanta Highway Seafood. Many days we head to Central Park to play tennis before heading out on the lake, but just as often we drift from one resting spot to another enjoying the scenery.
