Photos and Description of the Paradox Lake vacation cabin rental
2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath (Sleeps 8 or more on couches)

Beautiful family summer home is a lake front tree house. You will be living directly above the lake in cabin built (literally) among the trees like the Swiss Family Robinson. A 40' x 12' deck is covered with a clear roof for enjoyment regardless of the weather, and an uncovered portion with a fire-pit for the necessary s'mores. Swimming in the lake is perfect.

Inside the cottage is a large great room with full kitchen, living and dining areas. Kitchen includes washer and dryer. Newly remodeled bathroom. Two bedrooms with queen/double beds (2+2), and a big loft for the kids (4). For extra guests there are couches (2) or an extra sleeping porch (bring your sleeping bag!).

On the deck is plenty of seating for dining and lounging, and a gas grill.

At the lake front is a floating dock for swimming and lounging, changing house and toilet. Provided are 2 kayaks and a canoe. Public boat ramp is at the state park.

Why the Owner Chose Severance: This is the perfect vacation home for us. My wife and boys love to swim, I love to hike. There are endless things to do in the area, and while it's close to town it's not too close. It's close enough to be on the lake, but because of the height above the lake it gets breezes, and is protected from most of the bugs. When you sit on the deck, you will see what we are talking about!

Cannot speak highly enough of this cabin. With your pajamas and a warm mug, when you wake up in the morning, you are greeted by a long deck that points toward a beautiful picture with the pine trees as a picture frame. This is my favorite part.

The cabin is on a slope, so when you're at the edge of the deck you're about 15 to 20 feet off the ground looking through a perfect hole in the trees for a view of the lake.

The lake was warm when we were there.

The inside of the Cabin is the equivalent to a moderate to small cape. Running water, fireplace. So Good!

There is a corner store right down the road. Also a descent restaurant.

If nothing else this cabin absolutely needs to be on your list to come and see.

Family Winter Getaway

My family and I stayed at this lovely cabin during the winter. We didn't take advantage of nearby skiing, but certainly could have. Views from the large deck are spectacular, and we loved to watch the sun peaking through the trees in the morning. We weren't able to enjoy the lake due to the cold, but did spend time at the shore - would have been fantastic in the summer!

Bedrooms were comfortable, and the remodeled bathroom is very nice. The great-room was fantastic! We enjoyed quality family time and games next to a roaring fire! The kitchen is modern and convenient as well.

We plan to return this summer so we can enjoy the cabin and the lake.

Amazing indoor and outdoor paradise

This is a truly amazing place. My friends and I rented this cabin for a week for a sort of wholesome "bachelor weekend" before a friend's wedding. It was late May, but it was already warm, and the lake was great for swimming. By June or later in the summer, the water's probably incredibly warm. The owners aren't kidding when they say there's a ton to do in the area. It's a very short drive to the "High Peaks" region of the Adirondacks where the most popular hiking is, and there are some other, less used trails around Pharaoh Lake (around 10 mins drive) that are just as pretty but a lot less busy (we experienced both regions). The cabin itself is gorgeous, and really fulfills the fantasy of a "rustic cabin" without actually sacrificing any amenities. The owners clearly take really good care of it. It was comfortable for a big group of guys (we had 12 up there at one point), but if you just had a family it would probably be even better. The porch is huge, comfortable, and has a great view of the water. The kitchen and bathroom are surprisingly nice (I was expecting something rustic, but this was nicer than my actual house). The furniture was comfortable and fit in with the decor... I really can't say enough good things. It's spacious, pretty, a nice location, great swimming, great little boats (two kayaks and a canoe!), great dock, great everything. And this place would be GREAT for a couples weekend. I'm planning on bringing my wife up here as soon as I can find the time!!!
