House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

This home was once a single family home and was converted to a two family, three years ago. The larger portion of the home, almost 2,000 sq. ft. is available for rent. There is now a small apartment attached to the rear of the house where I live. When you look at the picture... the entire front of the house is part of the rental property. Only a small part of the building in the back half of the second floor is where the apartment is located. Although the guest portion of the house is listed as a two bedroom, the loft area has a trundle bed and the family room, which has a door for privacy and it's own very large custom bathroom, has a queen sized pullout couch (brand new) and a trundle bed. There are three full bathrooms, two on the first floor and a large master bath with a soaking tub, that has jets. Also, there is a separate shower and double sinks in the master.

It has been completely remodeled with all hardwood floors, except for the family room which is carpeted. New tiled bathrooms, a modern kitchen with granite counter-tops, a large island, all stainless steel appliances, Cuisinart 12 cup coffee pot, 4 slice toaster, double oven, side by side refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave/convection oven. The house is beautifully furnished and painted with a beach motif in greens, blues, whites and tans.

Enjoy a relaxing glass of wine on the large front deck and watch the sunset each night over the bay. Each one is magnificent. People gather along the edge of the bay each night to watch the sun go down. Table for 8 on the deck.

I just purchased a canoe and hope to replace at least one of my kayaks that was lost to the Hurricane. I have lifejackets for your use. There are several that can be borrowed that are adjustable. Just ask! Use at own risk. Drop them right into the bay in front of the house and head south to Island Beach State Park.

Walk 5 blocks north or 2 blocks south to a fishing/crabbing pier and catch tonite's dinner! Crab pots for your use! Local tackle shops, in walking distance, will have bait and supplies for you!

About Denise Larsen

Storm damage was minimal. Already rebuilding and excited to offer this comfortable, clean, and beautiful bayfront home to guests. Beaches are still beautiful, decks are ready for a family gathering. Come enjoy the peace and quiet!

My late husband and I moved into the property in 1980. It was a tiny little bungalow which we tore down in 1987 to put up a 3 bedroom contemporary home to make room for our two growing boys. When my husband passed away in 2007, I decided to make some changes to the property. I made the decision to go with a two family and to become a summer rental property. The house turned out beautiful! I am so proud of the work done by a local builder who specializes in custom cabinetry and molding. The wainscoting in the living room really makes a statement. I love sharing this comfortable home with families who want a relaxing shore experience in a dream location.

Why Denise Larsen chose Seaside Park

My late husband grew up in Seaside Park and when we got married we rented the house that we eventually bought. We just really loved the area and he couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I am originally from Maine and grew up in the mountains and woods. Living at the beach opened up a whole new world to me. I've never grown tired of the beautiful sunsets on the bay and the amazing sunrises up at the ocean.

What makes this house unique

I can ride my bike to the post office, the market, the beaches and never leave the island on the weekends when it's the most crowded. there's a traveling farmer's market almost every weekend that offers lots of Jersey Fresh Produce. I like to kayak early in the morning and just roll the kayak across the street and drop it into the bay. My favorite spot is south of here off the coast of Island Beach State Park. It's a nice paddle ride and a lovely place to watch the birds. The beach is just two blocks away and sometimes after spending the day at the beach, I like to take a dip in the pool. I have a small 18' X 24' pool that is great for a quick dip after being in the ocean or after dinner when it's still warm. Invite people for a BBQ on the front deck. Take a nice bike ride along the bay. Not much traffic, wide shoulder for kids... bring the helmets! Lots of restaurants all along this island and if you're into nite clubs... of course we have those too!

    Small sandy beach in front of house; across the street. You can sit and enjoy watching the boats and it's shallow water for many yards out, so it's a good spot if you have little ones to watch. There is a life guarded beach on the bay also. It's a few blocks away from the house. Perfect for little ones.

    I have one mooring for a boat. You can use it. There is a fee to use the boat ramp. Keep your trailer in my driveway. The depth of the water is only about 2-3 feet, so it's shallow. You have to walk out to your boat and walk it to shore to load it. Had a 21 foot Whaler out there if that gives you an idea. There is a state marina nearby if you need a boat slip for a larger boat. Island Beach State Park is part of that marina.

    Talk to me about your pet.... ( I can say yes, if you can assure me that it is housebroken and won't chew furniture. Security deposit is doubled.) I have 2 cats that spend a lot ot time outdoors. They may stop on the deck to say hello to you....shoo them away if you don't want them around, they won't be insulted!
  • Minimum Age Limit for Renters ...
    I get many requests to rent my house to prom groups. I'd love to be able to accomodate, but it's just too risky. As a high school counselor, I would be in a 'pickle' if something went wrong. I know there are lots of great kids out there who would do the right thing. But, in the case that a group did damage to the house, since proms are at the beginning of the rental season, I worry that it would be an issue for the weeks following, if repairs were needed.

    I have an 18' x 24' oval pool that has a deck built up to it from the house. Comfortable seating around deck with lounge chairs. I hope that my guests are comfortable with sharing the pool with me and my grand-daughter. We don't monopolize it and certainly don't intrude when there's an obvious gathering by the pool.

Notes: OK... so what is meant by alternative lifestyle? I was going to check that because I thought perhaps it means gay/lesbian couples and their families. If that's the case, then, of course. I guess I don't think of that as an alternative lifestyle..... My house is family friendly, period, how your family is structured is of no consequence to me. Does that make sense? I believe most in my community share my values and beliefs. This home is a bayfront home. The only thing between the home and the water is a street. No obstructions to the view. ALSO.... check out the following site.... Theshorelist.com..... they have anything you can think of to rent. Ask me first, because I may already provide it for you, but it's a great back up for those who don't want to bring as much stuff.

We are return renters with Denise and can't wait to come back next year! It's hard to believe how much has changed for the Jersey Shore since Sandy. Our hearts go out to Denise and so many who have to overcome such hardship. Thankfully, Denise is confident that her home will be ready for summer 2013! We love spending time in Seaside Park, enjoying Island Beach SP and the beauty of Denise's home. Our teen girls enjoy riding bikes and love that Denise shares her kayaks and stand up paddle board. It's a beautiful home away from home and we thank Denise for sharing it with us. Sunsets are the best!

Favorite house in Seaside Park!

What a wonderful house- beautiful, immaculate, very roomy and tastefully decorated. Better than the comforts of home! And, on top of that, the owner Denise is so great. She became like a friend to us. I hope to be able to go back as often as we can. In fact we are going back for a long weekend soon. Several members of our family joined us for the week and everyone really loved it. It is so relaxing on the porch at night, watching the sunset. Thanks Denise for making us feel at home.

I can't praise this property enough....Spectacular sunset views, great location in the park and overall immaculate property. Homeowner left nothing to be desired. Loved it and can't wait to rent again soon.

I surprised my husband with a little family getaway weekend for our anniversary weekend. The house is simply beautiful; well-appointed, tastefully decorated and so much natural light. The house itself can only be outshone by its owner and the perfect sunsets that we enjoyed each night from the deck. Denise was so accommodating to our family and shared her bikes and kayaks with our children. We enjoyed a visit to Island Beach State Park and the beach, but mostly just enjoyed Denise's home and relaxed. Couldn't ask for a more perfect place to stay. We can't wait to return this year!

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! PERFECT EVERYTHING!!

If I could give this house SEVEN stars, I absolutely would!!

My friends and I were given the wonderful opportunity to rent this gorgeous home, and all we have to say from this weekend is wow. Upon arrival at this house, everyone was expecting something great, but what they saw was way beyond their expectations! Some of them even said that it was nicer than their own houses!! This house really is PERFECT!! The kitchen is fully stocked and has everything a cook needs, there is always something to do at the house or away from it - the house is fully prepared for anyone to enjoy anything by the bay or ocean, including crabbing and kayaking! This house is impossible to critique! It is well maintained, the space is perfect for sleeping, eating, talking, and overall just having a great time. Our weekend down the shore after prom definitely could not have been as enjoyable if this wasn't the house we spent it in. The best part about this house, however, isn't what's inside or how it looks like - it is the owner. The owner is the most gracious and most accommodating host you will ever come by! She even helped out my friends with their endeavors in crabbing during our stay! :) She is FANTASTIC! She most certainly deserves a big round of applause!

Thanks so much for this great weekend! I would definitely recommend this house to anyone!!
