We own and run Salmon King Lodge of Red Bluff, the north states'only B & B devoted to outdoor enthusiasts and their families. Our primary business is as fishing guides, outfitters and B & B hosts, where we create great fishing adventures for customers of all ages. Our customers stay in our beautifully appointed private guest house which sleeps up to 14 people. During the times that we have lodging openings we make the guest house available as a vacation rental. In our previous life we spent 20+ years in Silicon Valley creating the foundation that would allow us to start the next chapter of our lives (while we were young enough and had the energy). We actually are doing what we love to do, we consider ourselves totally blessed, most days we can't believe we get to do this everyday. It's vastly different than our previous silicon valley lifestyle.
Julie Divens purchased this house in 2006
We desired to find a close and private location to better accommodate our fishing guests and their families.Once our Salmon species declined, and we branched out to other fishing regions, we thought the property would be a fabulous guest rental.

We have had the great fortune to find this wonderful retreat when we were snowbound at another higher priced horrible rental home in Shasta Christmas 2013. Ever since then, whenever we are in the area we love staying there, and we do quite often as our travels take us coast to coast almost every month or two.
It's so comfortable, light, airy, spacious, you can "get" the lodge feel everywhere, beautiful fish mounts, paintings, and prints are nicely arranged.
The kitchen is fabulous, they have many staples in the cabinets already, it's large and open, plates, dishes, pots and pans , several sets of silver ware, kitchen utensils, coffee makers, filters. We love the ceramic cook top, and breakfast bar, we never even sit at the dinner table. They have everything you could want, nice sheets, towels, blankies, comforters, quilts, pillows, many beds, though we only stay in one of the 4 beautifully set up guest rooms.
As you enter, there are closets in a small foyer, then you step into a lovely large great room, and look right out onto the back 6 acres through the large glass windows, where there are usually deer and turkey, and jack rabbits at certain times of the year, lots of them!!!!
There's a large 55" projection screen TV and several couches and comfy chairs, and even quilts and snuggies if you really wanna lounge.
The bathrooms are great, tub in one, shower in another, nicely filled with all the things you'd need.
There's also a fully stocked laundry room, so you can keep all your stuff clean.
We are in love with this house, and although we're on a beautiful coastal area of North Carolina, we feel safe and comfy and happy at the Salmon King Lodge Guest House.
The owners, Bill and Julie are great too. Super kind, smart, resourceful, and great fun to know. In 2014 they allowed us to book any available date's so we were there off and on a lot. We don't know what our 2015 look like yet, but we will surely be back a time or ten!
We had a great time at this property. The lay out of the house is great because there are bedrooms and bathrooms at both ends of the house. The house was very well equipped..much better than most rentals. Julie, the owner was very accommodating. It is a bit of a ways out of town with limited internet/cell phone service but it was also quiet and serene. We would definitely recommend this place!
Perfect house on a quiet street in a rural area, but Red Bluff convenience is 5 minutes away. Very pet friendly location. Wild turkeys in the morning and evening were a hoot to watch and photo. We stayed two weeks and the place felt like home. Plenty of room to park multiple vehicles and large trailer.
great, spacious, clean, fully equipped home with beautiful surroundings. There was plenty of room for our large group to have quiet moments alone when needed. The kitchen was Awesome. So much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. I highly recommend this home for family gatherings.
We had a family reunion over the Memorial day weekend and found this house for the family to stay in. A beautiful and serene location just outside of Red Bluff to allow the perfect amount of relaxation. The owners were very gracious and hospitable. Upon arrival the house was more than we could've hoped for, they had thought of everything, even local historical books that we found fascinating! Thanks again and we will definitely be staying here again.
This house is clean, well furnished, and very comfortable. It is surrounded by beautiful oak trees where you can watch wild turkeys feed and deer sleep in the tall grass. Julie, the owner, reminds me of my favorite sister. She always wants to make the stay wonderful and is willing to do anything to make that happen.
We go to Red Bluff for the annual professional rodeo. On Saturday, we watch the rodeo and then go back to the house, sit on the patio, barbecue dinner and enjoy the beautiful woodlands out the back.
This is a beautiful house with a delightful owner and I would recommend it with utmost confidence.
There are a myriad of fabulous things to do and see while travelling in the north state. Shasta Lake, Whiskey Town Lake, Trinity River and Sacramento River all offer outstanding settings and are great for boating, relaxing and fishing. Red Bluff in particular has a long standing tradition of Rodeo & Livestock exhibitions and all related activities. The best area to shop is Main Street, best places to eat are: New Asian Cuisine, Luigi's, La Corona, Don Francisco's, Bud's Jolly Cone, The Green Barn, Countryside Cafe. In redding The Turtle Bay exploration Center is a must-do, along with a walk across the single span bridge.
