The splendid genuine villa vacation is located in the Lucca hilly countryside along the wine route of the 'Colline Lucchesi':the hills of Lucca in the midlle of our active farm estate.It has a beautiful view over the valley. Our villa vacation 'Il Gobbo' is the perfect place to explore the Tuscan land, to relax to enjoy the walks in the countryside. If you are looking for a holiday offering complete freedom, deep among the olive groves,ideal in terms of location, tranquillity and comfort.A house of unrivalled charm, a testament to the hard work of the farmers who lived there over the centuries. Situated in the heart of Tuscany, only a few kms from Lucca, near the typical village of Segromigno, it has now been restored in a cosy rustic style:ancient wooden beams, floors in terracotta on the ground floor and chestnut on the upper floor.The spacious living area is divided by a massive staircase with wrought ironwork decoration to form a lounge on one side and breakfast room on the other.

The city of Lucca itself, enclosed by its famous walls, is a veritable jewel of medieval architecture. The house is proximity to all the major art centres offers countless the opportunities for entertainment and culture: Florence is 1 hour away, Pisa 30 minutes and Siena 90 minutes. The sandy beaches of the Versilia are 30 minutes away and the Viareggio promenade with its famous Liberty style buildings, shops, cafés and numerous clubs offers the very best in nightlife. While the beauty of the Garfagnana attracts mountain lovers. We are about an hour and a half from the Apuan Alps Nature Park with its spectacular scenery and unspoiled wild flora and fauna. Not forgetting the spa towns of Bagni di Lucca (30 minutes) and Montecatini (20 minutes), famous for their therapeutic waters

LOCAL ACTIVITIES: jogging or hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and visiting the many churches and villas scattered throughout the area. The private swimming pool (14m by 6.3m with varying depths from 1m to 2.4m) and private hot tubs under the gazebo by the pool offer naturally relax. There are also covered areas furnished with tables and chairs for outdoor dining or simply to lounge and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery

From the pizzorne plateau(15 minutes) it is possible to practice paragliding. Along the scenic road up the house it is possible to practice mountain biking. footing, discovering the village's life,finding trattorie,farms that produce wines of high quality as Tenuta di Valgiano. This is the famous 'Colline Lucchesi' wineroute.

This place is a prefect place to be;
- not far from a city ; (Lucca),great view- No other neighbors near by.- great for a big family (8-15)'.
- close to a local grocery - great pool, great Hot Tub,
- Great family that take care of you all the time.

Review Title : 327551 - "Il Gobbo - Fantastico!"

"The web site description of Il Gobbo is good, but the property is better! 9 of us stayed at Il Gobbo (3 couples and a family of 3 with a 9 year old boy), there was still room for more people. Everyone felt is was the best property we had stayed at in all of our vacations in Tuscany. The home is absloutley magnificent, everything works perfectly, even the espresso machine! It was immaculately clean and well maintained. The spa is at least as good as the view from it! The serenity of the property is probably its biggest asset, although inside the home is superb as well. Loretta and Guiseppi are magnificent hosts who live close by if you need any assistance, such as where can you get the best local wine and seafood, etc! We have never had such good customer service. We will definitely stay there again and have already begun recommending it to our friends.

"Die Villa bietet alle Möglichkeiten für einen entspannten und vielseitigen Familienurlaub oder eine größere Gruppe von unternehmungslustigen und sport- und kulturbegeisterten Freunden. Besonders die Lage der Villa mit dem Blick von der Terrasse ist wunderschön. Die Einrichtung und Ausstattung der Villa ist gut und entspricht den Angaben im Internet. Wir haben uns in dem Feriendominziel sehr wohl gefühlt und können il Gobbo sehr weiter empfehlen.

Review Title : 233260 - "Paradise Found"

"Paradise! That is the only word I can use. We shared the house with 2 other families. There were 14 people in total (6 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 tweenagers and 4 kids). The house provided plenty of space and privacy. There was something for everyone. There were many outside activities including the pool, hot tub, deck chairs, swings, a playhouse, pingpong, horses to pet, and trees to climb. There was never a moment when anyone said, "I'm bored." We loved the dining areas - 2 outside and 1 inside that fit everyone. Loretta was kind enough to arrange a cook to come in and make fabulous dinners for us. The price was quite reasonable considering the amount of people and quality of food.
The owners came every morning to be sure we were comfortable.
The house has so much character. It felt warm and homey. The kitchen was very well equipted and had lots of the basics for us to use. My only issue was the lighting was dim for reading at night. If you like to read, bring a book light.
We were able to do several daytrips -Pisa, Florence, Lucca. They were convenient. I recommend that you take the train intothe Il Gobbo was the best part of the whole trip. I can't wait to return!"

"Our week in Tuscany began with a warm welcome from Guiseppe and just got better! Il Gobbo is a beautifully maintained villa with a stunning view over Lucca and the surrounding hills. We enjoyed sipping wine (thoughtfully provided for us from a nearby vineyard) and watching the gorgeous sunsets from the state-of-the-art hot tub! The kids had a fabulous time feeding the horse, swinging, swimming and playing ping pong (sadly, the grass was still growing on the soccer field)! The property is very large and was perfect for our dog since it is fenced.
The villa exuded warmth and authenticity with its beamed ceilings and antique furnishings. We were thrilled to have a dining table that would seat all of us (14). Antonia came twice to make us delicious Italian meals, and she made so much food that we had left overs!
We went into Lucca several times and delighted in bicycling around the ramparts. Both Florence and Pisa were a short drive, but we abandoned our plans for any other sightseeing to remain at Il Gobbo and soak in the Tuscan sun and serenity!
We felt as if we'd experienced Tuscany like a native--so much better than staying at a hotel or resort!! We've already inquired about coming back in the summer...
