Limited Parking

This home was a perfect set up for 2 couples and could accommodate more easily. The beds were comfy, however when we opened the cupboard door in the bedroom for a towel it fell off in our hands. The toilet paper holder in the other bedroom came off of the wall also. This home advertises a completely ready to go kitchen..there are pots, pans, nice plates, silverware etc. There are not any spices at all..we really had to scrounge for the salt and pepper. My other experiences with VRBO homes/condo's has always included some spices, sugar, flour and some basics in case you didn't get to the store..pancake mix, microwave popcorn, maybe a few cans of veggies etc. I agree with the other review in that the walk to the boat dock was not for everyone..I would consider the ramp from land to the dock as semi-dangerous..it was literally almost straight up and down..more like a ladder. You definitely do not want to forget anything. Parking for trailers, boats etc., is extremely limited. There is parking along the side of the drive but the drive is very narrow with trees, poles and a brick retaining wall. It angles back leaving your boat etc., on loose rock so it can also be tricky to pull out. We brought a boat and a trailer with our motorcycles. We ended up unloading the bikes and taking the trailer down to the boat ramp area (approx 3 blocks) and leaving it there as there was no where to put it and still get the bikes in and out. There is also a large gap between the street and the paved driveway that could create havoc if not hit right on the bikes. It would also be nice to have more than one key.

Owner's Response: The lake house is clean and checked everytime a guest leaves. If there was a maintenance issue that was missed then the landlord should haven been contacted. There is a 3 ring binder in the kitchen with contact phone numbers and the information is also on the contract that all tenants sign. No contact was made therefore we did not send a maintenance person to fix the door or toilet paper holder because we didn't know about it. We will now however address the issue.
We state in our contract the following: Landlord shall provide towels, linens, cups, knives, forks, spoons, dishes, and other items as commonly used by the Landlord’s family. A limited amount of toilet paper, soap, dish detergent, laundry soap, shampoos, and other consumables are provided if length of stay should require more they are to be purchased by the Tennant. No reimbursement will be made for unused consumables left at the premises. If consumables exist at the premises when the Tenant arrives the Tenant is free to use them.
We don't supply food of any sort. I don't recall any house or condo that I have ever stayed in that supplied any food. There is a grocery store 7 miles away and a Dollar General 4 miles away for anything that you might have missed.
The terrian around Beaver lake is very hilly, rocky and full of cliffs. Very few lots have a leisurely, easy walk to the water. We have installed new steps (as seen in the pictures) as far down as the core will allow us. We then submitted a plan that was approved by the core for the rock path that leads the rest of the way to the water. The ramp to the dock is VERY steep this year. We are experiencing a huge drought in Northwest Arkansas along with most of the midwest this year. Water levels are extremely low and we have limited options with the position of our dock. We did add additional wood strips to help with the steep climb.
There is ample parking. There are two rock areas which could each hold two cars. The rock area infront of the garage could and has held a boat and trailer. The U shaped drive infront of the house is narrow but many members of my family have full size trucks and park there. We also have parking on the side of the garage on the grass area and behind the garage is a flat area. The grass area behind the garage has housed 3-4 full size trucks. It has also housed a full sized camper with slide outs. Definitely big enough for a boat and trailer or trailer with motorcycles.
