The owners of the Black Pearl Over Water Bungalow and Brando's Bora Bora Bungalow are proud to present the newly remodeled Marlon's Over Water Hideaway... Right next door to his other one. A gorgeous covered terrace, overlooking the lagoon and palm covered islands, just a few hundred yards away, is fully furnished with quality outdoor furniture and gas barbecue. Here you can enjoy many wonderful hours -- reading a good book, marveling at the natural beauty of the area, or just doing nothing. If you wish to take a dip in the warm waters, nothing could be simpler. Just go down four steps on your private dock and dive in. Right there you can snorkel for hours, check out the thousands of colorful fish in and around the coral reef, or just lie on the beach under a palm tree, while sipping a Tahitian punch. We can help set up tours for you: Authentic Tahitian Motu picnics, Polynesian weddings, Jet skis, shark and manta ray feed, sunset sailing, scuba diving, island jeep and snorkeling tours, even a tattoo with a Tahitian master!

If you want to have an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora and you do not stay here or at its sister property next door you are missing out on the best bargain in all of French Polynesia. This is a large, recently renovated overwater bungalow originally owned by Marlon Brando that is located on the northwest coast of Bora Bora (about 4 miles north of Vaitape) in an absolutely beautiful location. I do not even know where to begin.
Large living room that transitions into a dining area and then a kitchen---a big kitchen. Full-size refrigerator, washing machine. incredibly modern four (or was it five) glass stove top, double sink, blender, coffee machine, microwave, toaster oven, toaster and all the china, silverware, glasses, pots and pans, etc. that you could want. If I could come up with a complaint it would be that the chef knives need to be a little sharper and there should be a bread knife. That's the best I can do.
Two bedrooms. The master has a queen (or is it king) size bed and is air conditioned (The only room in the house that is air conditioned, but we froze to death before we turned the air conditioning way down.). The second bedroom has two twin beds and a REALLY good fan. The bathroom has double sinks and a huge shower with both a rain head and a hand held shower.
And then there is the porch. Huge. A table and four chairs. Two lounge chairs. A day bed. A dock with a ladder that can be lowered so that you walk into the lagoon (which offers good snorkeling) and an outdoor shower for when you come out of the salt water. Oh, and a propane gas grill!!!!
In the living room is a TV with a dvd for movies (selection quite limited but you certainly could bring your own dvds) and music. On the porch there were fishing rods (we left a nice selection of lures as our gift to the house), snorkels, masks and fins and some great tubes for just hanging out on the water. Missing. There should be some rope to tie off the tubes to the dock although they did have short tethers. No kayaks.
We cannot recommend this property too highly!!!!! It is fabulous. For 1/3 what the resorts want for an overwater bungalow you get twice what they offer. Pick up groceries at Chin Lee's or Super U for breakfast and snacks (and whatever other meals you want to fix) and definitely have a meal or three at the Bora Bora Y
Wonderful bungalow, lots of space, all you need is there. Beautyfulll view.
Much nicer and more comfortable than hotel over water bungalow (where our friends did stay), great fish and snorkeling form the deck. We did enjoy every second.
Car is definitely a plus as you are about 2 miles from next place to shop and 5 miles out of town.
Nir is great and was a very valuable help for all questions we had about the island.
I am sitting here looking out at the beautiful lagoon. This is the perfect spot for a get away vacation. The bungalow is exactly as advertised. It is clean and well maintained. We are staying for 2 weeks and found this to be the perfect spot. We rented a car from Nir and found it is almost mandatory. It is a 15 min drive or so to town (safely dodging the island dogs) for groceries and restaurants.
Richard is so easy to deal with and all his recommendations were spot on! The only small fault I would mention is that the sofa cushions could be more comfortable! Other than that, we are loving our visit and the bungalow made it that much more enjoyable!
We just returned from Bora-Bora where we stayed at Marlon's Hideaway. It was just what we were looking for. The bungalow had everything we needed for our stay.
We rented a car from Nir in order to get around the island. I highly recommend a car unless you have another means of transportation.
We would do it again in a heart beat.
My wife and I stayed at Marlon’s at the end of May, from the very beginning when we found this on VRBO and contacted Richard with questions, He was very quick to respond, gave all sorts of information and advice. Upon arriving, we were greeted by Tiare, (Nir was out of town that day) who gave us the key to the Bungalow, car, & phone to call if we had any questions, or needed any assistance with activities or restaurant ideas.
The bungalow is as exactly as described on the webpage. Beautiful views of the lagoon, you are right in a perfect view to catch a sunset (It was cloudy most of the evenings, however we did get to see 2 beautiful sunsets) Sunrises were a different story, clouds in the morning prevented catching a picturesque shot.
We highly recommend renting the car for the entire time that you are there, this allowed us to go hiking up in the mountains, see the public beach, shopping, etc at our leisure and schedule. We snorkeled every day off of the bungalow; we purchased a Go Pro camera so we could film our snorkeling and diving experiences.
Moana Adventure Tours – 7 hr Private Romantic Tour Boat Ride, it was worth the money, picked us up at our dock and we got to see the entire island, we stopped and snorkeled and three different locations, got to swim with the rays and sharks. Then had a nice dinner on a private motu ,our guide Arii was funny, knowledgeable and an excellent cook.
Topdive – if you are diver or want to learn, we had a great time with this company, they were very safety conscious, the dive masters that we had were very good, showed us different fish, eels, sharks, etc.. They also allowed us to maximize our dive time.
Hiking on the island – there is trail just down the road from the bungalow. It takes you to to one of the mountains, it can be a strenuous hike at times but the view is awesome. I believe the 4X4 tours will take you there too; we just loved hiking with no timetables.
Summary – Staying at Marlon’s provided us so much more to do, we met a couple who stayed at one of the resorts on the Motu’s and they did not see ¼ of what we did, plus they paid more for their OTW Bungalow. If you choose to stay here, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Thank you Richard, Nir & Tiare for a unforgettable time in Bora Bora!!!!!

I came to Bora Bora on my own to experience a new setting in a magical place. Renting this bungalow was so much better than staying in any hotel. The owners were staying at their bungalow and came to greet me warmly upon arrival.
Every morning, the large variety of fish greeted me and eagle rays swam by. Mana rays breached just off the deck in the evening, and I even saw three octopi! It was truly a magical week.
The property manager took extremely good care of me and was always available if I needed anything. Renting a car from him was perfect. I was able to do my groceries and cook my own food. While staying here, I received my diving certification and had the week of my life. I can't wait to come back!
The owners of the Black Pearl are proud to announce the acquisition and remodel of both of Marlon Brando's famous Over water Bungalows. Jack Nicholson owned #3. James Michener called Bora Bora 'The most beautiful island in the world. And it is, it really is. Bora Bora is one of the Society Islands in the South Pacific, Tahiti being the largest. It is only a seven and a half hour flight from Los Angeles and only three hours earlier PST. The same time zone as Hawaii. To get there, you take a direct flight to Tahiti and then a 45 minute island hopper to Bora Bora. You are now officially in paradise. Use your state of the art kitchen to prepare a meal, or dine out at the many fine restaurants on the island. The activities are endless if you wish to keep busy, or just lie down on the veranda, listen to the water and finish that 1000 page book you can't seem to finish. Life takes on new meaning when you are surrounded by the serenity and the beauty of Bora Bora. Come and see for yourself!
